I find it easier to escape from cops in 5 then in 4. Though it is faster to escape from them in 4.

The GTA IV cops were piss easy.
also apparently in los santos you're allowed to kill ONE person and nobody will call the cops but if you dare even touch one hair of another guy after that you're in for an explanation in front of the national fucking guard

I will never forget when I was about escape cops in GTA IV and then all of sudden a fucking cop car spawned in dead end street, pullout right into middle of the road, stopped and I came hurling into it. It launched me trough the fucking windshield and I died of ragdolling for like 200 meters.
Speaking of cops, can anyone tell me how are you supposed to lose them when you drive a big ass truck ?
I'm doing that mission where you have to steal the drill for the Union Depository heist but no matter what I do, there's no way I could lose them.
Ram them off the road doesn't do shit or even kill them (though slightly touching a civilian car kills the driver instantly), shooting them makes things even worse and of course I can't outrun them.
Even the sewer trick doesn't work as the truck is too big to get into them.

Rockstar has already answered that.. Well it was a non-answer, but it was that they're focusing on GTA Online and making sure nothing detracts from that experience.

Oops, then i'm sorry.
All I did was download [url]https://steamdb.info/app/480/[/url] (from steam) and change the appid in the file, but it looks like it doesn't work anymore.
Whats also infuriating is that no matter if you're in the fastest car in the game, the Cop AI will get a cheaty speed boost in order to ram you, and at least a while back, if they rammed you, your wheels would go mental and cause you to lose control quite a bit. Then there's the alteration of physics where it's more difficlt to ram cars out of the way with roadblocks etc.
Car chases in the Dukes O'Death are fun.
The cops in GTA V are fun because they are hard, it adds to the genuine realism of the game, typically you'll see people phoning the cops and it's why they appear so instant.
If I randomly started shooting in the middle of the street or swinging a bat around some cars in real life I'd expect the police to come right away

Hard doesn't mean fun, aimbotting psychic cops aren't fun. If they were challenging it'd be different, right now they're bullshit.

if you drove out to the middle of the Mojave or climbed to a peak of the San Gabriel mountains, with no-one else in sight, and fired a round from a machine pistol, would you expect three cruisers to arrive within twenty seconds?
more than that, if you drove out of sight of pursuing cops, then got out of your car, ran a half mile away, climbed a fire escape and stood behind an industrial fan on a roof, would you expect them to run down the road in your direction, shouting, "WHERE IS HE?" "I'm gonna pop that motherfucker," "Anybody have eyes on target?" while literally walking in your footsteps, climbing the exact same ladders, then running straight for your position in cover so they could 1-hit you with a shotgun?

It's been found that animals were given the ability to call the police :/ and theres a shit load of birds flying around all the time. it was found in the files on the console versions.
