Welp I guess I was hopeful to try and run this game on 512 mb of memory on my video card. Now I have to fork over 200-400 to play this game, but on the other hand I suppose I can finally have all my other games looking nice.
I'm on the latest NVidia drivers Specs are: GTX 760 Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 Windows 7
It's your CPU.
I'm on the latest NVidia drivers Specs are: GTX 760 Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 Windows 7
yeah dude, i'm running a gtx 970 and while i can run the game at 60 frames on max at certain points, the microstutter is unreal. i'm using an i7-860 which is a beast processor but it's only packing 2.8 gee's per core. it's great for video editing and generally everything except newer games. it really sucks since i forked over an arm and a leg when it came out and now it's not even worth dirt. 200 dollar gaming i5's are like 3.2-4 ghz now. you should think about upgrading
Anyone else having this issue? My game won't start at all. When I click play, it says i'm playing but for only 5 seconds then that's it
At school at the moment, but I hope I can get medium-high 1080p 30fps experience. My specs if someone cares: *Windows 7 64-bit Professional *Intel Core i5 750 @ 2.67 GHz *Radeon HD 6870 1 GB *12 GB RAM
So how's the release? My game finished downloading overnight, now I'm just waiting to get back home.
How to fix please :'(
It's your CPU.
I thought this game was supposed to run well on lower-end machines? I guess I waited 3 years for nothing
How many cpu threads can gta use? I've got 6 cores going on. I'll have to look at task manager later.

I guess I waited 3 years for nothing
a lot of press said that the game runs great on its recommended settings but that's utter bullshit. the game requires a serious powerhouse regardless. i wouldn't call it unoptimized but for the kind of power it requires it doesn't even look that good in motion. all of the textures bleed in to eachother and the depth of field does the game no favors at all when it's not in a cutscene. and the shadow and texture lod distance is a joke don't get me wrong, the game looks gorgeous, but it looks nothing like the screenshots and it especially doesn't look good enough to justify the amount of processing and graphics power it draws from your computer
Only real issues I've had so far is chunks of the city disappearing. Runs waaay smoother than I was expecting, otherwise. Hopefully this is something R* can fix, and not something I'm SOL on.
So was it worth the wait? I think so.
"The definitive edition" is not a buzzphrase. [t]http://i.imgur.com/ArSBgzJ.jpg[/t] This isn't even with full AA and high-def shadows.
Holy shit I thought I recognized the speedo/tacho. Turns out they used the same cluster of gauges as in my real life car :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/1H7gAOp.jpg[/t]
So was it worth the wait? I think so.
4 hours and counting install time isn't.
Looks like there are just a fair few optimisation issues that Rockstar need to iron out, which will fix most of the problems people are facing (except the server-based ones). I'm kind of glad that I can't play it until this evening, hopefully they might have released a patch by then.
4 hours and counting install time isn't.
by the time you get the game you'll forget all about it. big hyped digital releases like this always have rocky as hell launches, preload or not. people get flustered and aggravated for the first couple days but then it's long forgotten
5 minutes left till first update is finished 5 MINUTES
Finnish computer store, and their custom package. If I had the money, this would be... you know. :D:D http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/JIMMS-LEGEN-KING
Am I able to get that Nightride radio people here were putting together yet?
The game stutters ridiculously for me when driving.
just as im down to 30mb left download slows down to 5kb/s
The game stutters ridiculously for me when driving.
Do you have the latest GPU drivers?
Oh no, I wounder if my game will work... so do I still have to do any downloading? I closed my computer after the Steam download was complete.
Do you have the latest GPU drivers?
Yes, but I'm going to do a clean install. I did express. I'll see if that helps.
it sucks so much having real life responsibilities to deal with and can't just play this 24/7
by the time you get the game you'll forget all about it. big hyped digital releases like this always have rocky as hell launches, preload or not. people get flustered and aggravated for the first couple days but then it's long forgotten
on one hand that, on the other hand i bought retail, so every time i want to install the game i have to go through it again.
are there any detailed breakdowns of individual graphics settings yet? also whats the mostr expensive video setting that makes the smallest difference becaus eim running at about 40-60 fps rn at all full save for aa and shadows
Finally got it to start and i'm at the Social Club launcher but now i'm getting a "The Rockstar update service is unavailable (code 2)" error. Fuckin' A, I just want to play!
