gonna give up for now and if there isnt a solution by the time I get home I may reinstall it anyone else have the launcher crashing issue?

SO i transffered my character.. got all my stuff but i cant join nor can i invite my friends because it says either one of both of us need to complete gta online tutorial.. it didnt make my character go through it so what do i do? wtf

Played 5 hours of Online and it was a fucking blast, even when dealing with high rank douchebags sniping and running people down in armoured vehicles. They need to add a hardcore mode or something which takes away map markers, forces 1st person and adds proximity voip, I'd love that shit.

(I assume that you have an nVidia GPU - that seems to be the problem). Open up Device Manager, disable your nVidia card, open up the launcher, wait for it to get past the bit where it crashes, then re-enable your card again. That's what I did and it seems to have worked - hope that helps.

I'm gonna have to move it onto my external 2tb and back. i am so sad

That's what I did and it seems to have worked - hope that helps.[/QUOTE] already tried that but because I only have the one nvidia card I can't really disable it trying to launch with the card disabled makes the launcher whine about no directx9 - "unable to initialize directx9.0"

Kinda wish the mirrors in the car worked properly. Then again I've been playing a lot of Dirt so I guess I'm spoiled.

Argh, can't play till tomorrow night; overnight shift and plans in the afternoon. Been downloading since I finished Assassin's Creed for the first time. Needed it off my ssd, gta needs so much damn space. More than ready: i7 4790k, 16gb ddr3, and my msi gtx 980. Gonna be REAL fun. Fuck you, Nvidia, I'll run mfsa if I feel like it!

anyone else got any artifacts or anything? played it fine for 6 hours straight, tried to change a setting that had to restart the game, artifacts happened on desktop, pc crashed. Restart, go in game change settings, back into game, pc crash after 20 secs, try starting it one more time, pc crashed again with artifacts. I just want to know I'm not jumping the gun on ordering a new 970.

I tried launching the game, said I was using 1100 mb of 1024 mb available (GPU). Then I turned on SLI, and I was suddenly using more than 2048 of the available mb. None of the settings change. Is there something I should be aware of I need to do? It doesn't make sense how the usage just suddenly doubles.

Woke up at 5am to play this a bit before work. Worth it! I noticed cops seem less psychic than I remembered from the 360 version? I shot 3 people with a silenced gun, left no witnesses and got no wanted stars. It was only when I shot someone and left a witness that I got stars. Is it my imagination, or are you guys noticing the same thing?

switched off vsync and my fps jumped from 30-40 to 60-70 lol

I'm stuck on a Loading loop in the Social Club launcher, is this how it's supposed to run first time or what? It's been 30 minutes since I launched the game.

But if you have an Nvidia card, set EVERYTHING to off or application-controlled except gamma correction. Else you can get banding and some other nasty issues.
