Is there any way to reduce the CPU load of this game? I've got a slightly mismatched setup of an overclocked Phenom II 1055T and an R9 290, and I'm getting 45 fps while driving regardless of graphics settings (same on off/normal as on all very high). It seems all the graphics settings are targeted at reducing GPU load. With Max Payne 3 sitting at 120 fps on near-max I was expecting better than this
V consumes alot more resources than MP3
Lucky for me I don't have any issues with pop-ins or artifacts. Running it pretty much maxed out too. Specs are 4670k, GTX 780 (drivers@347.52), 8GB RAM, Win8.1. I do, however, have input lag in the menus sometimes. Can't have it all I guess v:v:v
The only issue I had was Lester ragdolling once for no apparent reason.
So that is the only issue? I guess its worth getting it now then Guys? Anyone else?
Has anyone tried forcing SMAA through a tool like ReShade? MSAA makes my GPU shit itself in 1440p, and FXAA isn't good enough; so I thought I'd try SMAA, because I was okay with it in GTA 4
God copying it all over to my other drive takes soo much time
Atleast you are done with that stupid fucking downloading from useless piece of shit as Rockstar Social club is
FXAA is fucking horrid never use it [editline]i eat ass[/editline] literally a blur filter
You're better off forcing your own AA instead of using FXAA.
There I was thinking "Oh its preloaded I can launch it as soon as I get back from work"... To find out the decompression flooded my SSD, now attempting a hacky fix of recovering the downloaded data via Symlinks... otherwise its another evening just redownloading it back to the drive
Holy batman the retail version is retarded, install + 5 gigs of downloadables at 20kbps-400 kbps, biased toward the lower end and mandatory lost connections after 40 seconds. I mean what the hell R*
Is anyone else having performance dips usually in the form of stutters in MP but is fine in SP? This is bothering me, flawless 100+ fps in SP but after a good 10-15 minutes in MP shit hits the fan and it will stutter for a split second every 5-10 seconds. Why only MP? Why Rockstar!?
Well if the optimisation wasn't enough, I can safely say now having used aircraft the controls don't suck for once. Yeah I think this is the best PC GTA by "port" quality by far.
I swear crossing a highway on foot in first person is like the most intense experience ever. In 3rd person it is fairly easy to keep track of your surroundings and avoid traffic but in first person I get regular near misses or just flat out hit because it is so hard to keep track of it all.
FXAA is fucking horrid never use it [editline]i eat ass[/editline] literally a blur filter
The way I see it, it's better than nothing
You're better off forcing your own AA instead of using FXAA.
Yes. That is exactly what I was inquiring about in my previous post
The way I see it, it's better than nothing
Not really. FXAA is a lot worse than no AA if you ask me.
The way I see it, it's better than nothing
ehhh i'd argue otherwise. worse quality for a performance hit. anyway to answer your original question i forced MSAA through CCC and it worked pretty well. i haven't tried SMAA because I really don't want another performance hit but i don't see why it shouldn't work.
The vram usage doesnt make sense, the ps3 only had 512 mb for fucks sake.
But the ps3 version looked like ass .
How can I check if I got the Old Gen to next gen stuff?
anyway to answer your original question i forced MSAA through CCC and it worked pretty well. i haven't tried SMAA because I really don't want another performance hit but i don't see why it shouldn't work.
By worked well you mean it performed better than the MSAA option already built into the engine?
apparently people getting the d3d crash can fix it by underclocking their gpu 20mhz or so
I have 2.7 Mil and I don't even know what I want to spend it on.
By worked well you mean it performed better than the MSAA option already built into the engine?
yup. i can't benchmark at the moment because i'm in class, but 2x MSAA through CCC was much easier on performance than through the game settings.
apparently people getting the d3d crash can fix it by underclocking their gpu 20mhz or so
fuck that
yup. i can't benchmark at the moment because i'm in class, but 2x MSAA through CCC was much easier on performance than through the game settings.
Oh, I've got to try that then. Thanks!
FXAA is fucking horrid never use it [editline]i eat ass[/editline] literally a blur filter
I noticed the Nvidia TSAA made it blurry as shit but the MSAA works just fine. I have mine set to x8 and it looks great. [t]http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/bwyb8ygfom7r6srrlt6d.png[/t]
Can somebody link the vehicle speed time google document again? Thanks in advance!
fuck that
true but i keep bluescreening with my 970 and shits pissing me off
I noticed the Nvidia MSAA made it blurry but the regular AA is much better (in game settings).
yeah at one point i tried doing like 24x MSAA with CCC and it was terrible. using it with just 2x i've found is nice enough where it removes some jaggies but w/o any noticeable blur
So I got the whole
[ERR_GFX_D3D_INIT] – Failed Initialization. Please reboot and restart the game. Try reinstalling the game if this persists.
thing again after I reinstalled the game. If the same thing happens that happened last time, the next time I play the game it will bluescreen my PC. Hopefully that doesn't happen, but I'd like if the damn game didn't crash. Anyone found the solution to this shit?
Holy fuck dude. Franklin and Michael are sitting talking by Michael's pool. It's a windy day and their clothes are actually reacting to the gentle breeze and slowly blowing around. Michael moves and changes his position and his shirt actually drags over his pants instead of clipping through... I tell you, R* is the absolute best at making the most immersive games. They think of every fucking thing.
