Every fuckign YouTuber on the planet is playing this and I don't know why. It looks pretty terrible. I was interested when I saw the trailer but after seeing gameplay it just looks bad..
I don't understand.
The game allows for some funny shit though.

Don't always trust gameplay videos tbh, it is really fun :)

From our perspective, open world survival games typically do fucking really good and can jumpstart many channels or make their month at least. So it's this circle of hype from media and YT'ers and then the fans/readers of them. Hype brings views.

I think they gave out keys to popular youtube channels/streamers in order to generate interest in the game.
genuinely thought the person that got kidnapped was just a 12 year old boy
also, this was one of the more boring ARK vids

It still made me cry from a laughter, which doesn't happen that often anymore, thus I would still call it a good video.
I'm gonna be honest - if I was going to play one of these games, I'd go for Rust. The community is pretty bad, but the game mechanics are at a point where they're far more polished and the development is far more interesting and engaging. If not Rust, then something closer to Turok.
With this game, I'm seeing a lot of promises and a lack of inspiration.

This Chief guy was in JackFrags videos, he's genuinely hilarious. I need to find out who he is.
The latest updates have done wonders for my performance.
I'm able to get 40-50 FPS on high graphics settings. Before I could barely break 30 on any setting.
What are you talking about OP, this game looks fucking hilarious

I still have to lower my settings to get at a playable framerate, but then again my GPU and CPU are both around 5 years old. I'm honestly surprised that it took this long for them to get this outclassed. I really ought to scrounge up some money for upgrades.

What's your setup?
I've been holding off playing because of the issue, and I've got 16gb RAM and a GTX780. I'm hoping we'll see more improvements sooner rather than later.
Rust 2 looks amazing
Doing a jurassic world week!

Apparently it made 10 million dollars already. I didn't know this game was that hyped up. I only just heard of it a couple of weeks before it got released and went "oh, that looks neat".

thats an awful fps
thats an awful fps
Seems pretty standard for what a lot of people are getting.
I'm on a i7 4790, 15GB Ram and a R9 280x and I don't reach 30fps on High or Medium ,even with the tickboxes of the more demanding stuff not ticked.
there was a 200mb update does this game still run like shit
The game has had like 300 patches so far.
Honestly I tried this off a whim with the new refund system and I love this game, so sorry about that FP circlejerk
yeah the game is actually lots of fun even with the optimization issues
thats an awful fps
I was just running it maxed out purely for that webm. :v:

Yet none fix the actual performance, you'd think the devs would make that the top priority
How is another open world survivalcraft game, early access, a top seller with "mostly positive" reviews? Do people never learn or is it actually decent?
