Oh levels actually matter when it comes to detecting shit, guessing it's combat rank?
In the opinion of people who invade and defend FOB's, which platforms can be considered the weakest for defense, and very easy to infiltrate? I've been considering expanding my FOB entirely, but I've been holding off in case there are some platforms that are ridiculously easy to invade.
R&D's final platform is very weak because the structure is very flat and cube-y. Guards that walk around the catwalks surrounding the cube are very easy to spot, and the inside of the cube is a tall labyrinth so once you get spotted, people from the other side of the platform can't get a good shot at you as opposed to the command plat.
[editline]5th October 2015[/editline]
Support is also relatively easy to invade because it's core is indoors and under the main platform as opposed to above it. The only issue I get time and time again is I KEEP FORGETTING WHERE THE FUCKING STAIRS ARE

R&D is by far the easiest and most reliable once you learn the pipes.
Why would she care if [sp]Venom is the real Big Boss[/sp] or not? She has no prior knowledge of who [sp]Big Boss[/sp] is.
[Editline].[/editline]
I mean maybe she's heard of the [sp]legends[/sp] but still. And [sp]how would she know? No one on Motherbase other than Kaz knows, and somehow I doubt he'd tell her.[/sp]
[sp] I think she was attracted by the legend, then fell for the actual man himself, the Medic, since he's more compassionate than the real BB anyway. Regular BB probably would have just shot her after the initial fight. [/sp]

[sp]why would she even fall in love with medic boss? all medic boss does is not kill her and take her on missions[/sp]
[sp]why would she even fall in love with medic boss? all medic boss does is not kill her and take her on missions[/sp]
My guess? [sp]The bonding of soldiers. It's a recurring theme throughout the series, like how in MGS1 Snake could empathize with his enemies to a degree, and how Big Boss is a very empathic person for his men. By working alongside Quiet, in a sense Venom and Quiet bond together as soldiers and yet see eachother as more than just tools and accessories to battle as a result.[/sp]
[sp]so why doesnt med boss fall in love with pequod[/sp]
[sp]why would she even fall in love with medic boss? all medic boss does is not kill her and take her on missions[/sp]
[sp]Probably the gestures Snake shows her. There is of course the whole "defeating you but letting you live" thing, then there's the way he treats her on the helicopter ride back, where he laid her down ~gingerly~ and covered her because he assumed she was cold. Remember how Ocelot said something about "somewhere between [Afghanistan] and [Mother Base] she changed her mind"? Then of course on missions they're gradually bonding and learning to communicate with each other.[/sp]
What weapons do you guys use in FOB's?
In order of how often I use mine:
Decoys(the popup stun)
Silenced stun shotgun(Is there a better silenced stun weapon? having to use two shots still kinda hurts)
Rocket Arm
Silenced M2000 to take out UAV's(Don't have silenced brennan yet)
Do you guys that are using suppressed shotguns play on PC? I personally think the tranq Makarov with the 1911's med. suppressor is best. I either bring that or the Sz. SMG depending on how angry I am.
From there it's just HAIL + L. MRS for offense or Stun GL + Shield for defense. It feels weird sharing because I feel like my way of invading is the right way and therefore obvious, but apparently it isn't too obvious. I'm honestly curious of what others use.

[sp]That's implying he hasn't and he wasn't just keeping it a secret[/sp]
FOB insurance service begins!
Your FOBs are always at risk of coming under attack. Now, you can rest easy with FOB insurance (paid service). If you sign up for insurance, then during the insurance period you will be compensated for any materials and staff lost due to rival infiltrations.
* Staff/materials stolen by the rival will in fact remain on your base, and an identical amount of staff/materials will be handed over to the rival instead.
* MB Coins are purchased with real money, but free MB Coins are also distributed periodically as login bonuses, etc.
* The following are not covered by FOB insurance:
・Staff/items that are not fully your property, such as abducted staff being held in your Brig (FOB)
・Wounded staff (staff lost due to death or extraction will be compensated)
・Staff used by you to deploy in defense of the FOB (neither death nor extraction will be compensated)
・Nuclear weapons
So if I want to make sure no one fucks with me in their forced multiplayer I have to pay them more.
That's some fucking bullshit right there.
So basically if I don't play this game for a month all my singleplayer stuff will be gone because online dickholes
Or was this already a thing and they just introduced insurance?

"Your FOBs are always at risk of coming under attack" because they fucking designed it to be that way, pretty scummy of Konami. THEN again it is Konami

I didn't even know helicopters had that kind of range
I don't mind FOB Events and all, but FOB Insurance? Christfuck.

In one of the tapes Kaz says they converted the whaler to carry vehicles over long distances.
Who the fuck thought that this:

was a good goddamn idea.
The current high-level HAIL MGR-4 is already a death machine that spits out 11 fucking grenades through its nozzle of doom with 29 more grenades in it's reserve.
A level 7 MGR-4 with a drum mag. A fucking drum mag you guys. That's gotta be 20 goddamn boom circlies ready to rain hell upon everything in its sight. 21 grenades flying your way and don't worry enemy combatants, I've got 79 more in case I run out.
In one of the tapes Kaz says they converted the whaler to carry vehicles over long distances.
Oh yeah I remember that now. It's one of the really early tapes where he's explaining how he got a whaler for so cheap and that he modified it. It's a shame we never get to see it

Wait, where did you even find that? That's not in the game.
Wait, where did you even find that? That's not in the game.
It's going to be released tomorrow.
It will be in the upcoming update for FREE.
Still gotta research it, but by this point anyone who could aim for a Grade 7 weapon probably has sufficient GMP and resources to immediately take a go at it and only have a bothersome wait time to compensate. So.. yeah.
Once they introduce Grade 8 weapons, expect the same thing to happen because that's the highest the ranks go. I was curious as to why no weapons reached that far, but it's pretty clear why.
You know, accidentally blasting someones liver away when you forget that you didn't start in with a tranq sniper rifle is getting pretty common to me after getting the drum mag semi auto sniper :v:
Also can you see how many you've fultoned anywhere?
So the devs for some reason saw how FOBs turned out and decided the best course of action would be to add an even more powerful GL.
Cool. So the leftover devs don't play their own game. RIP the MGS brand.

They expect players to play nice, especially on consoles.
Meanwhile there's still little done besides a report system for PC hackers, and knowing our luck they probably won't even have a goddamn anti-cheat on for MGO3 when that finally comes out on PC.
OK, credit where credit is due tho:
If you avoid being spotted by enemies, and refrain from killing/extracting staff and damaging/extracting containers and equipment, you can now play all the way through an FOB infiltration without the rival player being notified.
Enjoy this added thrill to your FOB Missions!
