Man, what is it with Konami underestimating server loads combined with botched launches? The FOB system was basically broken at release, and now MGO is basically broken at release, combined with the wait time people have to go through to download it despite people having been able to download it hours earlier.
It's hardly a Konami problem. I can't think of any recent release of a big online game that didn't start with server problems. It's simply cheaper to underestimate how much traffic you'll have to deal with and fix it later than to overestimate and be stuck paying thousands of dollars in unused server capacity.
For the record I'm on PS4 and have been playing pretty much all day. The later into the day it gets the harder it is to get into a game, but once you do make it you can just chain matches provided the host doesn't leave.
Check security settings and if there's a list icon next to a platform's name then it means it's been infiltrated and it shows you a log of the infiltration.
Also what the fuck is Konami smoking with these new online deployment missions? 8 days for 3 S+ soldiers? 8 Fucking days?
You're supposed to pay for it silly. Gosh. How else would Konami make money!!!
I don't know. After few matches it doesn't feel like mgs for me at all. More like third person shooter with mgs fanservice. Also 3 gamemodes are not enough.
What are the game modes?
Why the fuck is the Tux something I have to buy.
Is this real life.
After I realized that I had a brig full of 300 people after a handful of quick invasions with nobody retaliating on my unranked FOB within the 3 days I stopped caring about losing staff since I can contract almost all of my S ranks (except for the combat team) anyway. The only thing that would kind of bite is if you had all your resources taken after months of not playing, but if you've already beaten the game that'd just give you something to do - at least as far as I see it. I feel like if I had just went balls deep into the whole FOB thing when I had started the game I would've developed much more a lot sooner.
So [sp]nukes[/sp] are really the biggest thing to worry about losing and insurance doesn't even cover them anyway. I'm almost [sp]pro-nuke[/sp] because that shit takes a day of in-game time to make and can be destroyed instantly.
TDM, Capture Zones and one where one team defends intel with lethal weapon and other team with unlethal and stealth camo. Once defenders were spotted by attackers their camo disables for a short time. It's the only mode that somewhat feels like mgs.

Well mgo has always been a generic tps with a ton of fan service, that's what makes it mgo
Can you at least make your own lobbies or is it all matchmaking?
I've gotten to level 9 as an infiltrator and I think the game is fun, although the biggest issue for me is that both of the asymmetrical game modes are unbalanced. The comm's one less so, but the intel disc is just ridiculous never won as the attacking team, never lost as the defending team.

Ofcourse they put it behind a fucking paywall. I was hoping they wouldn't. fuck.
The costs may be inflated to ridiculous degrees, and by the time someone can make one they can probably stealth through an FOB like nothing else, but that's still stupidly ridiculous and an efficient player could just one-shot FOB guards with this thing and still get no owner alerts thanks to non-lethality now.
And can't these things be equipped to the Security Team?
Low ammo count, very slow fire rate, long reload, and knocking guards out makes a lot of noise. It's definitely very strong but I don't think it's particularly gamebreaking since any gun can 1 shot with headshots; going non lethal to avoid defenders only works if you don't get caught, so there's no reason to rush things
It's a beast against invaders, I'll tell you that much. Another reason to use shields

We knew it'd be paid DLC along with the rest of the costumes. It's cheap, though, and can be paid in MB Coins.

It can? Really? How much MB coins does it cost?

Things will be different on PC. Headshots are so important and joysticks are so weird.
Can you at least make your own lobbies or is it all matchmaking?
You can make your own passworded lobbies.
There's also a lite lobby browser.
Are the new suits out on the consoles? What about steam?
I wonder if MB coina will ever be ingame rewards.
It can? Really? How much MB coins does it cost?
supposedly €0.70, or a 100 MB Coins
This was from like, a while ago though and may have been a false report. I always say a disclaimer like that so that I don't botch something and get people's hopes too high
I wonder if MB coina will ever be ingame rewards.
They are daily rewards, though.

The Intel one will be even more one sided on PC.
If you can one hit kill someone from a good 10-15m away with an AR as a defender, the Attackers can't do shit with their Tranq Pistols with 5m of range.
Just found a steam friends base on indirect retaliation, sent them this along with the message "Does this seem familiar to you?" :v:

Of course I spent my time popping every single person on the fob and stealing everything.
This also happened:

FLAMING MUSTANG STEALTH MASTER EXTRAORDINAIRE
this was exactly on top of my last known position too, none of them spotted me.
Well mgo has always been a generic tps with a ton of fan service, that's what makes it mgo
I'd rather have coop instead of this.
Things will be different on PC. Headshots are so important and joysticks are so weird.
I doubt it, the reason why its so one sided is because stealth camo isn't that great, and the attacking team is gimp'd, as and time anyone on the attacking team is shot everyone's camo goes down for a time, and the attacking team has non-lethal weapons.
The only way I could see the attackers wining is with communication you mark guys and take out people who are lone before rushing the remainder, its impossible to sneak pasts a full team, the defenders move up from there spawn to the attackers typically and then camp the attacks spawn (which is also where you need to get the intel disc.)
aaaand I wake up to still no MGO download on PSN
gotta love PSN where they don't update the store until fucking 4pm
Are the servers stable on PS4 yet? I couldn't connect at all. Also are the costume DLCs on PS4 yet?
The tiny amount of customization available for your character is laughable. Do you unlock more clothes or do you need to pay real money to get anything more than the stuff you can buy from level 1?
Us PC plebs don't get MGO now right? Because it looks like a lot of fun, and I got mixed messages from the marketing about the release date.

You sure? Check the DLC section for MGSV, it's located there.
