Can you party up with friends in MGO? Seems really fucking stupid that any multiplayer game in this day and age doesn't have that option.

I saw a menu just for parties when I played, didn't get to test it yet though.

There's nothing in the freemode portion before you join a match.

I'm pretty sure you can make parties when you are in the sandbox area

For some reason there's a party screen but it's not functioning quite right or something.
I didn't join MGO2 during its infancy, but rather after it already had two expansions out, so seeing MGO3 be so.. bare bones means that unless Konami cuts the plug early, this is rife for extra maps, items and content. But yeah, if you're going to have a primary weapon or any combat gear whatsoever, beware; you'll be slow, slow, slow. Also for some reason the Scouts get the Sniper+ skill that makes their weapons sway and recoil less, but the Infiltrator gets their own equivalent I forget the name of that makes their primary weapon barely have any spread whatsoever.

Tbh I only see Konami either milking it dry or dumping it entirely, I don't have high hopes for anything genuinely good coming out for MGO3.
Naturally my stop to MGO for now was a game crash. Oh well. Now i've got two characters, a Level 6 Scout and a Level 1 Infiltrator. Something about Metal Gear Online occasionally chimes together, but just everyone running around like chickens with their heads cut off reminds me a bit too much of Call of Duty. Also fuck Walker Gears, the only way I seem to be able to counter them is with a magazine's worth plus of direct gunfire, or another Walker Gear.

Here's hoping that something magical happens and we get shit like hosting dedicated servers or something on the PC, maybe custom rules servers. Or mods. A boy can dream.
Honestly with Konami's past in MGO and MGO's 2 servers all I want is MGO3 to not get closed in half a year.
Fuckassbananfucks I got low morale cutscene because fucking steam farted and took all my GMP.
So they just updated it to add fake S+ in open world for no good reason?
BOASTERS FUNCTION PROPERLY NOW
The stun grenade is so ridiculous it's amazing.
Instant knockouts on anyone within range of it.
Huh, I just got another Diamond Dad except he was a random after mission volunteer, I didn't redo the mission you extract him on. He just decided he was gonna re-volunteer with better stats.
Dad, what you doing?
Well, MGO3 has a fair bit of issues needing dealt with. CQC is ridiculous. You can onpy accept so much shit when you get pulled to someone from 10 meters away while running far past them.
Oh, and server names. Why the fuck do they not exist? Did they not play the second game?
It's not female characters that are locked, but the ability to use the second character slot.
Given that you can only create a male avatar during singleplayer, I'd say female characters are locked.
Did they not play the second game?
It's not like they can
Here's hoping the extra time for PC version means they actually make it really good.

Like dedicated servers.
Maybe we could setup a SaveMGO1 server while we wait.
Who thought tying all your GMP to being online was good idea?
I've stolen two nukes off the same dude and waiting for his shield to go down for a third, I'd feel bad if he wasn't a Patriot fuccboi.

Uh...
[editline]yes[/editline]
Unfortunately I was unable to see if this would carry into a match, would have been fun to play with for a match before fixing it, the servers were down on 360 or something
Since building [sp]nukes[/sp] requires online resources, has the build time been moved to irl time?
So destroying UAVs counts as "neutralizing" enemies. If you have 12 UAVs running around your 4/4 strut, you're still totally safe from skilled players actually stealthing your base. A supporter showed up to the strut I was attacking. I headshotted him with the second-top MRS at 40m. He didn't die, so naturally the next thing that happened was I got 16 rockets on my exact position.
So does knocking guards out in any way apparently. Cool. And they encouraged everyone to fill their supporters list, so there's a guaranteed defense every time. So there's still no point to playing FOBs. The meta is now even more concretely: murder everyone.
You've made a great stealth game, Konami.

Camo better than stealth camo.

Why are [sp]Huey and Quiet on my base?[/sp]

And I'd say who gives a shit
It's like you would've rather they not even added female avatars with MGO lol
Don't rely on a Bounty Hunter match to go smoothly right now. People will kill targets with high bounties without much hesitation, so any hopes of ticket comebacks for your team are nil without some luck on your side.
Also apparently Infiltrators are pretty overpowered right now. Scouts have their sniper rifles, but I know I sure as hell can't snipe with a controller like some can, and they can mark real fast compared to other classes and use the E-Locator grenades, but Infiltrators can use a full assortment of rifles, SMGs and so forth, that all do full damage like Scouts and Enforcers - ontop of making it so their primary weapon has little to no spread whatsoever. If that weren't bad enough, the Stealth Suits basically mean that besides a battery limit, they can pop in and out of sight on a dime, even if they aren't fully invisible. Also Enforcers don't even get higher natural health/defense nor does the custom gear do anything, so you better work for those shields because otherwise you're just a slower target with a preference for bigger guns that can be outgunned by the default assault rifle from an Infiltrator with ease.

So I take it from the people who have gotten to play it, MGO this time around is still the head shot fest like the past iterations?
Anyway, I hope I'm not the only one, but is there any particular reason why all my fucking gun placement and vehicles I've stolen are now stored online? Not only can I no longer use them, but I also can't sell them. I have 164 mortars, and 157 are stored online, leaving me with just 7 to sell. Oh, here is another kicker. 48 NOSOROG tanks in total, 45 of them are stored online, leaving me with just 3.
What the fuck is Konami doing

People probably aren't used to the game yet, but honestly with how much more sprint-happy and hectic the combat is this time around, it's.. hard to get headshots really. The weapons have more recoil than ever before unless you specifically have an ability equipped to prevent that, and also a headshot supposedly isn't one-shot kill unless with a sniper rifle either.
literally lies:

thanks for getting us hyped up for a feature that doesn't exist. you aren't allowed to touch ANYTHING.
when I heard that post-release support would be sparing because pachinko machines, i didn't think it would be possible for post-release konami support to actually be worse than just fucking off.
