What do boasters even do, tho - Oh. OH.
literally lies:

thanks for getting us hyped up for a feature that doesn't exist. you aren't allowed to touch ANYTHING.
I'm pretty sure that's exactly what it states. Unless you mean tranquilizing staff also causes the owner to get soft alerts?
If you ghost through (and people are figuring out the strategies and patterns for optimal success in this), then viola.
Do I get to drive the jeep then?
Nope [sp]Otacon drives you out.[/sp]

Tranquilizing staff without doing anything more to them 100% causes an alert to go to all supporters and the owner.

Unnecessarily "true" ghosting requires even more map knowledge than I have. Route memorization. Boring as fuck.

Well it's still not really lying. Ghost your way through to the goal? You can avoid even getting some bullshit defender jumping in to wreck your shit, which was the worst thing about a full stealth FOB run. If you're going to disable, tranq, kill or otherwise, then it makes perfect sense for the players to be able to still defend their shit.

Well it still is really lying seeing as it doesn't mention LTL at all, even if there's an argument for allowing someone to defend. It's the ridiculousness of the cost of having a defender show up (guaranteed loss) that puts so much importance onto the only way to have that not happen, and the "only way" is insane. True ghosting isn't even necessarily possible without serious cheese on most of the final struts, and UAVs that watch ridiculous amounts of the FOB at a time (compared to MGS2; like entire quarters of it at a time) with seemingly random and certainly uncoordinated patrol paths make even perfect memorized skilled success very random.
Just played my first match in MGO, and it was terrible. The lag is insane. It got to a point where me and three other guys were stuck in an endless cycle of CQCing each other, and I just dropped my controller and watched the madness unfold. This isn't the MGO I was waiting for. Changes need to be made.
Some of the platforms have guards posted on the only access routes to the objective, facing the access. On catwalks.
If ghosting is nearly impossible, and stealthing to X strut before a defender shows up leaves me exposed with 20 guards behind me in the middle of a fucking bridge in front of the elevated defender (because saving the coordinates for a whopping 40 things was too fucking hard), why would I ever do anything but quickly stealth-murder the entire first strut and then nest up in a tower?

Tranquilizer gun/ magazine / water pistol will do the trick.

You can't do anything to guards. Anything.

If you're going to initiate yourself into the sniper FOB meta, don't take the top smoke grenades. Take the bottom. If you want to trick the enemy into thinking you've left the area once they smarten up and try to countersnipe, pop a smoke on yourself. You don't want the smoke to last 60 goddamn seconds. And pray to the RNG gods that your defender isn't one of the 8 players that uses Sneaking Armor to defend.

wait for them to turn around or walk away?
wait for them to turn around or walk away?
Am I literally the only person that has actually played FOBs.
I just did the greatest thing and I hate myself for not having shadowplay running.
I dived off into the ladder area on the right of the bridges, the one that goes down into the maint area, do a somersault like usual, but it goes right into a random enemy that I didn't notice, sending him flying hardcore phasing through the railing and going like 20+ metres out before even screaming.

i dont do a lot of invading, just a lot of defending. however in the bases i have invaded, ive never had this sort of situation you've described. which platform are we talking about here? i invade combat platform for combat units, command for nukes, and support if i want to perform an easy revenge. maybe its the type of platform you are invading.
So I take it from the people who have gotten to play it, MGO this time around is still the head shot fest like the past iterations?
Anyway, I hope I'm not the only one, but is there any particular reason why all my fucking gun placement and vehicles I've stolen are now stored online? Not only can I no longer use them, but I also can't sell them. I have 164 mortars, and 157 are stored online, leaving me with just 7 to sell. Oh, here is another kicker. 48 NOSOROG tanks in total, 45 of them are stored online, leaving me with just 3.
What the fuck is Konami doing
they're trying to pressure you into buying FOB insurance

Command platform: there's a man on every walkway and several facing inward.
Combat platform: there's 2-3 men watching and walking up and down and around each walkway up.
Medical platform: it's a clusterfuck
Intel platform: LOL
Support platform: maybe the reason my support platform is invaded the most is because it's the most vulnerable. I'm not interested in support men, so I've never bothered except to snipe people.
R&D platform: may be the only viable invasion because of the reliable pipes. You don't need to take out more than 1 or 2 guys and then you're 20m from the door. I've had a defender show up at that distance before though.
Base development: dudes swarming all around the door.
Usually going prone with urban camo and rolling everywhere seems to help me out the most on the command platform.
They don't instantly spot you and alert everyone when they see you prone, they just grab their buddy and run over to where they last saw you right away. That's very useful when 3 guards up on the cat walks see you and all decide to abandon their posts to check it out.
Using that tactic you can lure all the dudes down to the main level and slip past and up to the door, but you also have to time your movements because of the drones that like to scan the staircase.
So I'm going to go ahead and assume that the reason A Combat Deployments (nevermind anything above A) are so rare now is because not enough people were using MB coins to buy Online Combat Deployments.
Are the new suits available on PC yet? Do you have to get buy them in an ingame menu or something?
so i can't seem to find where to get the new outfits for the pc version. were they left out? is it mgo only, for january?
edit: wooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
So does anyone know about unlocking more outfits in MGO? Do I have to level up enough to get a squid hat?
Is there really no way to convert MB coins into GP? I'd be completely fine with paying for the beret.
Man, MGO3 is a bigger disappointment than the main game. The lack of text chat and the CoD style progression system just discourages me from playing more.
Does anyone know when I should be getting my MGO collectors edition codes?
[sp]so why doesnt med boss fall in love with pequod[/sp]
Since Pequod is a zombie

Don't give them ideas. Next we'll see Konami pull some "10MB -> 1GP" shit.
Who is even maintaining the game at this point? Just some scrap of devs Konami put together?
Last I heard Kojipro was disbanded, did they transfer the remaining lifespan of the game to a different company?
I can't bring myself to care about the online really at this point because I feel like it's going to be nothing but a microtransaction fest.
I mean, I want to like it, but Konami hasn't given me much reason to be optimistic.
Aren't KojiPro still working on the game as contractors until the end of the year?
I'm having a real fun time playing cloak and dagger, I dunno about the rest of you
