Is there a way to exit MGO without quitting out of the game completely?
Hold down the left side of the touchpad to bring up the main menu.
Is there a way to exit MGO without quitting out of the game completely?
Yeah? Just press select and then say "Go back to Phantom Pain".
Although I can see some of his points, drk29 is flipping a shit tantrum again.
To be fair, MGO3 is a massive step backwards from MGO2 in many ways.
"No fucks engine" seriously? What does the engine have to do with this?
To be fair, MGO3 is a massive step backwards from MGO2 in many ways.
Seriously. I agree with the things he's saying and it makes me happy when someone gets passionate about something I care about in a slightly self-destructive way so that I don't have to. Drk29 seems like a cool guy.
I didn't think anyone was expecting it to be as good or better than MGO2. Looks fine to me.
I didn't think anyone was expecting it to be as good or better than MGO2. Looks fine to me.
You know why people were wanting it to be as good as MGO2? Because MGO2 doesn't fucking exist anymore so it was on KojiPro and Konami to properly replace it. And god forbid the LAST MGS game have as good a multiplayer as a game from 7 years ago. This is a uniquely shitty situation.
Like ya I'm disappointed that it's missing the charm of MGO1 & 2, but as a modern shooter it looks more fun than pretty much anything else.
"No fucks engine" seriously? What does the engine have to do with this?
He doesn't like TPP in general, due to it's unfinished state, so he's saying that everyone who worked on it gave no fucks.
I just want some good maps
I didn't think anyone was expecting it to be as good or better than MGO2. Looks fine to me.
It doesn't even have text chat, something that was standard in the previous two MGOs, and it doesn't even let us name our own lobbies. That is really amateurish.

Drk29 seems like a cool guy.
I dunno, Phantom Pain's been a hell of a trip for me. Him saying it's "shit" coupled with all the other bs he's spewing just doesn't hold water I think. I've only played 2D metal gears aside from Phantom Pain but I still don't think it's fair to just pan it just because it didn't follow the same structure as previous games. I wasn't around for the old MGOs so whether or not the experience has truly been dumbed down to the degree of being "un fun" I can't say; I can say that I've been enjoying MGO thus far.
It doesn't even have text chat, something that was standard in the previous two MGOs, and it doesn't even let us name our own lobbies.
It doesn't even have text chat, something that was standard in the previous two MGOs, and it doesn't even let us name our own lobbies.
Isn't that pretty much the same for every other modern online shooter on consoles? It's not something that's hard to implement and it's a massive step backwards. It's features like that that helps the community grow and makes people stick around.
Why would a console game have text chat? lol AFAIK MGO on PC doesn't even come out until what, January? Or so I've heard from this thread
MGO1&2 had text chat. You could even plug in a keyboard into your PS3 to text chat in MGO2.
He doesn't like TPP in general, due to it's unfinished state, so he's saying that everyone who worked on it gave no fucks.
I feel like Phantom Pain is still a full game even if the ending had to be watered down. To say that everyone who worked on it gave no fucks is pretty a pretty big assumption. I mean, of all the games that cost 60 bucks on release I'd have to say that this game is among the best investments.
Why would a console game have text chat? lol AFAIK MGO on PC doesn't even come out until what, January? Or so I've heard from this thread
I could actually hook in a keyboard to my PS3 and type-chat on MGO2, believe it or not. That's the only way the whole Prison tomfoolery even worked back then. But to be honest, MGO2 was full of shit as well, like the pop-headshotters, or the cardboard box hitbox switching, and numerous other factors. It just had a more solid game basis and more features with no silly Class system, that still felt like Metal Gear.
What the fuck am I even running around leveling shit up for then [editline]6th October 2015[/editline] I assume this means we don't get any resource rewards for wins either? Man I expected the two modes to support each other this sucks
In what way dude? Why are you being so salty about MGO not affecting SP and vice versa? I would've been pissed if it did because FOBs already left a bad taste in my mouth.
Are there really only 5 maps though? That would be the biggest disappointment I think. Maybe the LA team just had like 2 art guys.

I also don't see how not including naming lobbies is really a massive step backwards, I mean this is Metal Gear not Combat Arms. And since when did console games have community? MGO used to be for console only correct?
small easter egg I noticed / major foreshadowing CQC a diamond dog, and throw him off the edge of mother base into the drink ocelot will say on the game over screen [sp]maybe you're not the big boss we thought you were[/sp]
Question about this update: can I still deploy all of my vehicles to use in SP like normal?
And since when did console games have community? MGO used to be for console only correct?
You're kidding, right? It was niche, but pretty much every game has a community, especially the previous MGO games.
small easter egg I noticed / major foreshadowing CQC a diamond dog, and throw him off the edge of mother base into the drink ocelot will say on the game over screen [sp]maybe you're not the big boss we thought you were[/sp]
It's been known since the game's release. Accidentally kill a staff member, game over, Ocelot chews you out.
Are there really only 5 maps though? That would be the biggest disappointment I think. MGO2 had a pretty dedicated community, it was niche sure but tons of people stuck around until the death of the game.
ahh well it was new to me, I should've assumed I just thought it was another of the 400 tips of the hat that [sp]you're not big boss[/sp] [sp]the scene with the man on fire's corpse was the most blatantly obvious[/sp]
so are the DLC costumes still not out on the US PSN store? i just want my tuxedo dammit
Just found out something neat in MGO. Apparently if you're holding an enemy and using him as a human shield, it's possible for the other team to kill their team mate.
so are the DLC costumes still not out on the US PSN store? i just want my tuxedo dammit
I guess they ran into last second issues with something that affects both PC and PSN. Like I said in another post, it'll probably be up for purchase tomorrow. No idea why Xbox would have it now and not the rest.

We did use chat, there was a sense of community, and I for one spent many hours just chilling with people in free mode in various lobbies.
Accidentally kill a staff member, game over, Ocelot chews you out.
Just recently murdered one of my staff by mistake on the 2nd command platform when I pelted them with a shotgun for morale, not realizing that they'd fly over the fucking rail into the conveniently placed pit that I didn't even know existed until the guy landed a lot later than I thought he would
