This isn't an MGSV problem but rather PlayStation but I fucking hate that I need to pay for FOB gameplay when it's so not optional It's clearly a main part of the game and requires for resources and getting better staff I'm at mission 26 and I only have like, every team at level 30 [sp]although the fucking quarantine is changing that[/sp] Which are the best missions for grinding a ranks
Mission 30 is best for grinding ranks
MGSV spoilers[sp]S rank and all tasks completed in final story mission. Don't worry, you don't go to OH so hopefully it's not a big spoiler.
speaking of, my 26 S++ guys that i stole from the hacker a few days ago in the last thread are out of the brig now level 77 combat unit aww yeah
along this line of thinking, my dream is to some day have an FOB filled entirely with E ranked boasters to make invaders think they're stealing my S rank soldiers. this would be nice, if most of my invaders didn't just steal like 3 guys and kill literally everyone else.
I wish the parasuit(heh) looked like the actual parasites suits though, aka half naked bullshit. Also now that some of the honeymoon time has passed, would you people say it's worth getting if you're the kind of person that ghosts fucking everything? Like to take a somewhat recent stealth-optional game Deus Ex: HR, I got no kills no alarms on the hardest difficulty on my first run with malik saved. I'm probably gonna spend like 20 minutes before entering a camp :v:
yeh the game is built around freedom of infiltration, there are loads of viable options for sneak (or going loud)
So how do boaster work? I feel like they keep the stats shown by the analysis.

Are rival FOBer's supposed to be able to defend if you haven't gotten spotted yet?
Are rival FOBer's supposed to be able to defend if you haven't gotten spotted yet?
there are "soft alerts" and "hard alerts" when it comes to defending FOBs. once an invader appears through a wormhole, a soft alert happens. any potential defender will not receive an alert unless they go through a loading screen of some kind. so, from ACC to the field, field to ACC, mother base to ACC, returning to the field right after you've completed a mission, etc. if an invader sets off something that makes guards suspicious, you receive an alert immediately. that would be the "hard alert".

Well, I might as well go full lethal and kill everyone from a rival who infiltrated my base. There's really nothing that is gonna stop me. And I'll just have reflex on to sweeten the deal.
Are rival FOBer's supposed to be able to defend if you haven't gotten spotted yet?
Reposting this: The owner of the FOB, while they are in-game will get a soft-alert whenever someone else enters their FOB. What that means is when the defender is playing the game normally and enters a new area that triggers a loading screen (Going to the ACC, engaging in a new mission, returning to mother base), they will be informed of an intruder in their base. The only time a defender will be notified immediately of an intruder in their base is when you - the attacker - triggers a full-scale alert phase. wow go home stealth ninjas
As I said in an Only War campaign once, stealthing with explosives is possible, if you got heard you didn't use enough.
i don't consider actually using explosives at all to be "ghosting". ghosting is stopping the tank by putting a car or held up soldier in front of its path and fultoning it when it's busy.

You need to knock out guards all the time because kidnapping them is the primary way of getting more people in Diamond Dogs, which is essential. So, I've been trying to get creative and figure out ways to kill enemies without it actually being credited to you. So far I've figured out three ways, some simpler than others. Surprisingly, throwing enemies from lethal heights doesn't count as a kill. Dropping vehicles via supply drop on enemies also doesn't count, though, it does take a few moments for the critically injured survivors to die. And the most inconvenient and difficult method is drowning enemies by placing them unconscious in water deep enough, or having them lie face-down on the ground in water during a hold-up which doesn't require as deep water as the first. Anybody have anything to add or share?

This one guy who had been constantly invading me decided to do it while I was playing, between him constantly stealing my shit and killing my staff. Decided its time to give him the hint. Modded to fuck double barrel stun shotgun and over the fence he goes. :toot:
Double barrel stun shotgun is great for defences, I always pick someone with Quick Reload and just go crazy.
Double barrel stun shotgun is great for defences, I always pick someone with Quick Reload and just go crazy.
Where I'm going, I don't need to reload. [sp]100 round magazine is OP, I shouldn't use it but this guy was majorly pissing me off, using stealth camo and suppressed machine guns to kill everyone[/sp]
Outside of the mission bonus points, does killing people impact your game in any other way? Just started the game and want to make sure I don't mess something up cause I decided to kill instead of stun / tranquilize.
Stun Double Barrel is godlike. Speaking of which, I done my first proper defence of a FOB with it (which ended after a few minutes), and fultoning someone after knocking them out was just so satisfying [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/425944999599744803/4150C810B8A3A7660F8363C47B2E68FA07F47DD5/[/t]
Where do I get the blueprint for that?
You get Demon points that will eventually cause your horn to grow and blood to be unwashable But other than the look, I don't think it negatively affects gameplay
There was probably some sort of alternate or extended ending planned that got cut, I'm sure.
Doesn't being bloody make guards more likely to notice you?
Only just realised the irony of Sigint developing a face mask when [sp]after his death someone does the same thing with him :v:[/sp] And he said it was impossible to get the lips to move - well MGS1 era graphics didn't allow lip movement did they?
