It probably does the exact same thing as prestige in cod.
It probably does the exact same thing as prestige in cod.
You unlock a few colors for your guns as far as I know.
Apparently you also unlock the swimwear and other smaller cosmetics from ascension too, but not sure
Well, after Googling, I saw someone on reddit ascended their infiltrator. You unlock a new outfit that looks rad as fuck.
It seems to play regardless with what music set. It's the level up theme or something. That's the one I mean. Also, what the hell is that unlock? It's no weapon. At least I wasn't able to see it when editing my loadout.
A remix of Sunny's theme
Finished Peace Walker! At least, I'm pretty sure I did (I got the second ending, with Snake and Miller on the helipad). I still have some side ops left, like all those pain-in-the-ass bullet-sponge mechs, so I guess I can kill time with those while I wait for Ground Zeroes to go on sale. I enjoyed the game pretty well. It did get grindy and repetitive at times but I enjoyed all the variety, plus the shorter missions were a nice change from 4. I also liked seeing how Big Boss' philosophy and thoughts changed based on his experiences, though I'm still not quite sure why he decided to go back to America and FOXHOUND by the time of Metal Gear. Perhaps V will explore that? [editline]8th October 2015[/editline] also I still have no shotguns
If you still have access to an Xbox 360 and you or someone you know has XBLGold, Ground Zeroes is free to download until the 16th!
Totally gonna be an infiltrator for my main character.
I would, but 24 hours in game time just to develop it? Nah.
Just hit the button and forget all about it, do your thing and just play the game. At some point it'll just be all like "DING" and you'll be all like "Holy shit, why did I suddenly get way more evil?"
Totally gonna be an infiltrator for my main character.
Right now, honestly there's no reason to be Enforcer. Although they apparently get lethal shotguns and grenade launchers, you're likely to be slowest on the field if fully decked out, which makes you nothing more than one big target for all the lightweight CQC Infiltrators running around with Stealth Camo on, the Infiltrators that use their no-spread ability with the default assault rifle or the Macht to mow you down, or Scouts sniping and marking from afar. The Infiltrators are supposed to be the hardest class. Instead they're like if Spies in TF2 could sprint around while cloaked and shoot or instantly disable you like everyone else with no issues, and the only minor disadvantage is that the cloak isn't 100% thorough. And they can get a cloak level upgrade that makes it recharge faster to boot. [editline]8th October 2015[/editline] Just the idea of Stealth Camo being an exclusive item for one class was disconcerting enough before MGO3 even came out, but now that it's out it's blatantly the biggest annoyance in the entire thing next to Walker Gears.
If you're a fully decked out enforcer can you at least take a few CQC hits before getting KO'd? I've seen some videos where even a simple throw will KO you for a good 10 seconds.
so randomly my sniper doesn't have a suppressor attached to it when i fly into africa or afghanistan. even though i equipped my customized sniper with a suppressor on it. and it even shows it in the loadout selection. and then when i check my sniper when flying in it doesn't have it. ???

Hell, there's even a Fulton Punch ability that lets you fulton people immediately after a sprinting punch. The game remembers if you disable a flashlight attachment, might do the same for suppressor removal.
I'm guessing this means enforcer gets the battle dress and a cool helmet.
I want to know what the Scout gets, though I'm well on track to ascending mine sooner or later (almost 25 now, ascension is 37). The fact that the Sneaking Suit is Infiltrator Ascension though means I should also get my Infiltrator up there.
Oh my god this silenced lethal pump action shotgun (S1000 I think?) for Infiltrators is fucking hilarious. Most people die in 1 shot from maybe 10-15 feet away, not even a headshot. I had a hard time finding a weapon I liked for infiltrators aside from the MP5/7 whatever it is but this shotgun is way too good. If you honestly can't see the shimmer or their own shadow you should pay more attention. The only time that the stealth camo works properly is if they're prone in the shadows or moving very slowly while crouching while also in the shadows.
I don't even get why your shadow shows up with stealth camo. Seems like a pretty huge design flaw.

But the really annoying Infiltrators are the ones that are hiding around corners or in a patch of grass unmoving until someone runs by, or they're going full offensive with the default MRS-4 or the Macht. [editline]8th October 2015[/editline]
I don't even get why your shadow shows up with stealth camo. Seems like a pretty huge design flaw.
Stealth Camo only bends light around the user, but to the casting of light itself, you're still an obstruction existing in its path to create shadows. Seems reasonable to me, and I think it's been like that throughout the series wherever shadows were applicable.
MGO2 stealth camo still showed their shadow, yes. Though I suspect it was purely for balance reasons, as MGO2 stealth camo made the person completely and perfectly transparent regardless of movement.
This is why people have trouble with walker gears, because they're retarded. Not that I'm complaining :v:
MGO3 is really fun. I haven't had any problems with walker gears. The players I've played with don't really use them and I managed to take one down with the basic assault rifle the infiltrator gets
I usually just try to avoid walker gears. If I see one coming, I just go the other way, and if one is just sitting there, I'll destroy it so nobody can use it.
How is the class distribution breaking down so far? Is it just a million infiltrators trying to be Snake, or is it actually varied?
How is the class distribution breaking down so far? Is it just a million infiltrators trying to be Snake, or is it actually varied?
It's not about being Snake. Basically most people are Infiltrators because they're hands down the most balanced and efficient class to play as thanks to their variety of abilities and equipment. Scouts are in second place because the game recommends them as a beginner class, and their marking and support factors can be quite helpful as well as sniping if a player's good at it. Enforcers are essentially shit, their first grenade launcher can't even kill people with two direct grenade shots without the explicit demolition ability applied to that loadout, their LMGs pale in comparison to the default assault rifle all classes start with, and they also need abilities to have endurance against gunfire - which doesn't spare them or anyone else from instant KO CQC anyway. [editline]9th October 2015[/editline] Okay, so maybe not 'most balanced' for Infiltrators, since it's rather that everyone considers them overpowered.
I don't like the class system at all. They should've allowed people to unlock everything to shape their own character.
Mission 43 breaks my heart.

1000 posts later Sup y'all, I beat MGS2 the other day. At first, it was a butt-fuck-load of new information, totally confusing me. But after a while, I was able to figure enough of it out. Now I'm onto MGS3, where the long cutscenes really seem to become more and more prominent. The gameplay changes were initially really, really intimidating, but I'm getting a bit more used to it (despite not getting far at all, tbh).
Anyone know how to unlock the croc cap in MGO3?
That makes no sense at all, except from a gameplay standpoint
compared to all the other bullshit in MGS it might as well be real science
