idk I thought the intro was pretty brutal, what with the all the [sp]messy killings and snake flopping around with a dislocated arm after that explosion[/sp] Or those parts with (GZ/Medical Platform spoilers) [sp]Paz digging at her wound for the bomb[/sp]
More gruesome to watch than when she (Quiet's ending spoiler) [sp] stomps that guy's nuts so hard he died then stabbed the dick off of another guy [/sp] imo.
I wouldn't say so only because the clothes cover any kind of gore.
idk I thought the intro was pretty brutal, what with the all the [sp]messy killings and snake flopping around with a dislocated arm after that explosion[/sp]
[sp]The bedside execution was especially brutal. Really good effects and animation at play there.[/sp]
Also regarding quiet did the torture scene with her get cut? [sp] worst scene is the tooth scene by far but that's because I have a strong phobia Old boy crippled me for days after watching it[/sp]
Thoughts on Quiet: [sp]I think Quiet might be the most fully realized aspect of the Phantom Pain theme Kojima was going for. Everything about her is specifically designed to lure the player and Venom Snake in: Her visual design and sexy animations, her extreme gameplay utility, the drama of her lovey-dovey arc with Venom. She's designed to be liked by the broadest spectrum imaginable so that when she leaves, you really do miss her absence. Stupid Phantom Pain. Also, unrelated except more Quiet stuff: can the vocal chord parasites actually even do anything to Quiet except make her a giant walking disease vector? Her lungs are so scorched, the eggs may not even be able to get a foothold in her lung cells. Plus, from what we learn about The End parasites she's infected with, they'll keep the body moving even after it's in chunks, so even if it does finish off her lungs and give her great big purple puss boobies, the disease might not even slow her down that much. Just a thought. She still can't come home obviously, she'll kill everyone regardless.[/sp]
Medical platform spoiler, Chapter 2: [sp]Found Paz, gave her all photos so far. Now, she drops only her book and nothing else can be done except to pick it up and leave. Is there more to it or was that it?[/sp]
Is the medical platform the only one with anything special going on? The command platform has the four chumps saluting you when you land, it's sorta sad that I count that as "special" but those are the only two spots I've noticed with anything scripted going on. Oh, and the [sp]Boss AI[/sp] on the R&D platform.
theres another photo outside the room stuck on the wall, grab it
[sp]God damn that cutscene... So was this all in his head or what did I just see?[/sp]
[sp]God damn that cutscene... So was this all in his head or what did I just see?[/sp]
[sp]Phantom Pain of never being able to save Paz and living in regret in decline, Kojima sure likes the Phantom Pain and throws it around.[/sp]
My favourite part about all that [sp] Paz [/sp] stuff was that the entire room [sp] didn't even exist [/sp].
My favorite part about the [sp]paz subplot[/sp] was the music. Such a good throwback to Silent Hill.
How does one roll while prone with KB/M? Also dropping from one level to another on MB?
How does one roll while prone with KB/M? Also dropping from one level to another on MB?
You sprint and strafe left or right to roll while prone. Dropping one level is stance button followed quickly by action button.
in mission 28, they mention missing intel team members. can you actually find them or are they just mentioned?
Did anyone ever notice [sp]Eli[/sp] and [sp]Code Talker[/sp] chilling on the roof of the R&D platform? I swear I saw that little shit relaxing with a lawn chair up there. Saw it when I was taking off on the chopper.
Also regarding quiet did the torture scene with her get cut? [sp] worst scene is the tooth scene by far but that's because I have a strong phobia Old boy crippled me for days after watching it[/sp]
The torture scene comes late in the game.
Haven't been here in like a month because of spoilers and stuff. Completed story yesterday. I kinda liked it. I kinda enjoyed the ending. The voice actor they got for [sp] that one British dude that rhymes with Hero [/sp] was fucking superb. Jesus fucking Christ I disliked [sp] Hal's dad. That cuck. At times he really did seem like the only sane one, but turns out that vengeful money skimming Kazuhira Benedict McDonnell Master Miller was right [/sp]
I had a dream where wormholes could actually appear on extremely hard to reach areas in the open world of Afghanistan and Africa When you went through them they would be time portals and you were forced to stealth through different areas from other Metal Gear games to reach the other wormhole to get back to your own time. Everyone has their same models from those games so Venom Snake stuck out like a sore thumb. Kaz can't reach you on radio, it's all garbled. What was cool was that fultons didn't work, but the wormhole fulton did and could actually bring guards from different games to your base, and they would keep their style So Snake brought back a Genome soldier and a blocky grunt from Metal Gear 2 and it was amazing. Too bad it isn't real
My brig is so overfilled. It's got like a hundred people in it, I wish they would come around faster. There a mod or anything for it that would help?
My brig is so overfilled. It's got like a hundred people in it, I wish they would come around faster. There a mod or anything for it that would help?
Try having D-Horse shit on them before you Fulton them
You know all that poop staff you capture in FOBs? [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/617347983766974862/EBEDEE41F55BF72756DC75E5C1A7B9279F0FFE36/[/t] Some people are missing their Russian interpreters. :v:
i apologize in advance as I write long posts: it's largely that she shows the effects of the cult of personality surrounding big boss in a way that you don't really get to see elsewhere. in MGS1 sniper wolf talks about how BB took her in and how he shaped her as a soldier, and this is referenced by others throughout the series. liquid talks about how bb's treatment of him made him feel inferior, etc. EVA and Ocelot both talk about the profound impacts that he had on them as well. BB is supposed to be this infinitely charismatic and personal leader, but frankly you don't really get that out of peace walker. there's his speeches at the end, but they feel detached and like he's a figurehead talking to a crowd. the same is in MGSV with the rank and file soldiers, only with quiet do you really start to see how BB individually actually affects his soldiers in a way that vibes with MGS1 descriptions of him. the first time you really get to see that is with the dynamic between big boss and ocelot in MGS3, where the rivalry/mentorship is handled very well, but sparsely. the thing that separates quiet from ocelot in MGSV is that you actually team up with her, and you see her personality change. she begins as distant and gradually becomes more and more open through her body language both in the chopper and in cutscenes. the parallel between quiet and ocelot is directly referenced by the latter in MGSV. the other big component to her is just the mystery that surrounds her that I think encapsulates her character pretty well. that sort of "blank slate" that she serves as is a pretty distinct parallel to the player character, especially given that BB speaks very little in MGSV and has for the first time been referenced as a silent protagonist. it makes you constantly question her motives throughout the game. there's a bunch of different scenes that come to mind that I like with quiet, but probably the best one is when she (mid game spoilers) [sp]attacks the guys on motherbase and stuffs the knife into the one guy.[/sp] while the scene played out I found myself asking what was going on, why did she break free? throughout her time on motherbase she [sp]is portrayed as being cooperative, staying in her cell despite it posing no actual challenge to her. she's passive on the base, doesn't harm anyone - yet for some reason, she busts out and stuffs a knife in a dude's mouth in possibly one of the most violent scenes in the game (and the series as a whole). having just finished the mission at the devil's house and a couple side ops, it made me wonder if that soldier had played a role in her infection, possibly a former man of XOF and had tortured her or others, etc. I later realized it was because she was attempting to stop him from speaking kikongo most likely to prevent the spread of the infection on the base.[/sp] there's really a lot to her character but the critical element is that it will be personal to each player. people will get different things out of her depending on how they respond to her emotionally; whether they see a silent but genuine connection forging between the characters, or a silly ridiculous oversexual display. frankly the worst thing about quiet imo is the way that she just fucking flails around any time she gets picked up in a cutscene. she's a strong fuck-everything-up character and they portray her in this bizarre helpless manner instead of just making her go limp like literally everyone else in the game. that does more damage to her character than anything else
but literally none of it makes sense the entire sub-plot is dumb people doing the dumbest things possible all the time there's so many plot holes it's ridiculous
ending [sp]people saying skullface was a pointless villian who accomplished nothing annoys me, this kinda shows what i've been thinking most of the time http://i.imgur.com/sM7dxU5.png . [/sp]
The voice actor they got for [sp] that one British dude that rhymes with Hero [/sp] was fucking superb. [/sp]
You should play MGS3 then. You get debriefing and tons of other things from him.
I don't get why they couldn't have had anyone who spoke whatever language along with English on the Intel/Support team function as an interpreter later on in the game.
they seriously need to lessen the grace period when you spawn in, you don't even have to do the first strut of multi-strutted platforms

So I played mission 46 last night, and it reminded me how funny it is to hear Kiefer Sutherland say "Press the Action button" in the tutorial I mean this is pretty standard fare for a Metal Gear game but it was funny to hear in a game that takes a more serious tone
[sp]Skullface was still a better antagonist than HOT FUCKING COLDMAN[/sp]
since we're talking about shit that sucked in peacewalker, remember [sp]zadornov escaping 15 times[/sp]
