how hard would it be to mod in COOP? the netcoding(P2P right?) is there already so i'd imagine it'll be easier than that JC2 mod
I'd love to see it. As much as I hated PW, the coop always seemed really fun. I'm actually surprised they didn't have coop in TPP. Even if it were to happen tho, Konami would probably try their hardest to close it down.
how hard would it be to mod in COOP? the netcoding(P2P right?) is there already so i'd imagine it'll be easier than that JC2 mod
That would be awesome if someone managed to do it; there'd probably be issues syncing missions and buddies and all that jazz though.
Something weird is going on at ingsoc.org. The chat page now has a cassette tape on top, which in turn redirects you to a flash(?) game of the Portopia Serial Murder Case. For all the unbeleivers that haven't been following the happenings and hints of MGSV, the game is mentioned on the (true ending spoiler)[sp]data tape that Venom plays after listening to Big Boss's tape[/sp] The ruise cruise is gaining speed it seems.
Might be a hoax, probably someone screwing with that subreddit
MGS2 is still my favorite in the series, and the parts about Huey make it even better for me now.
Seeing people on the reddit think that if you complete a totally pacifist run of the game you unlock chapter 3. The phantom pain is real.
MAJOR MGSV SPOILS [sp]I've gotta say, rewatching the ending...I really like the Big Boss duality. While it sort of takes away from the legendary mythos of Big Boss, the concept of two separate beings IE 'The Man Who Sold The World' and 'Venom', is really cool. [/sp]
I think in retrospect (mgs5 ending) [sp]most people can agree the twist isn't too bad, just the the fact there's no lead up to it and mission 46 just comes out of nowhere is dumb[/sp]
[sp]You mean MGSV? I its Metal Gear Solid Venom not 5[/sp]
That's just dumb, it is five. V means five.

Other than Huey, nothing that happens in MGSV GZ/TPP has any real consequence to the overall story of Metal Gear.[/sp]
Any good place to farm unprocessed fuel other than raiding other peeps' FOBs? I'm at 3/4 Decks for basically everything, 48,000 fuel per deck is a little crazy

Be as it may, imo there are still too many thing out of place/pointing that theres still something left to uncover. If its dumb to repost things from r/neverbegameover then just say so. Get the crates at the start, trigger a checkpoint by scanning the nearby intel and then restart the mission.
Mission 12 with the wormhole fulton upgrade. Get the crates at the start, trigger a checkpoint by scanning the nearby intel and then restart the mission.
Damn. I'm on Mission 24 right now, gotta get past 31 first :v:
[sp]it didn't need to have consequence, it was just another day in the war without end big boss's actions from the end of 3 onward already turned him into an asshole, the player just never really realizes it there really wasn't much of a gap to fill tbh[/sp]
[sp]A lot of people are upset that MGSV doesn't show Big Boss' decent into becoming a villain (I don't want t say evil because MGS isn't that cut and dry but people keep getting hung up on it). They don't realise that they've already played Big Boss' story, he already employed a child soldier as a scout, he already had a Metal Gear, he already had a nuke. What else is there to show?[/sp] It's like people don't realise that the bad guy never sees themselves as bad guys, and we've been playing from Big Boss' perspective.
I completed mission 45 a long time ago, but there's something I've only just realised today [sp]Quiet's still in my brig! Turns out she didn't go off into the desert after all, no she just snuck back on to Mother Base & into the regular brig instead of her special cell![/sp] https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17691911/2015-09-23_00001.jpg
That's just dumb, it is five. V means five.
don't be so quick to dismiss it, i'm pretty sure i read somewhere that kojima considers it v for venom and not 5, which it why it uses a roman numeral instead of the usual numeric title

Even in MG1 and MG2, Big Boss's actions, when told from a different perspective, appear heroic, not villainous.

I mean what else is there for the weird use of V instead of 5?
That's just dumb, it is five. V means five.
Is there a reason it can't be both? Kojima's no idiot, he knows what roman numerals are. V could stand for both Venom and 5.
Is there a reason it can't be both? Kojima's no idiot, he knows what roman numerals are. V could stand for both Venom and 5.
because peace walker is 5
The V stands for both Venom and 5.
because peace walker is 5
Peace Walker is Peace Walker.
because peace walker is 5
By that logic, Portable Ops is MGS4, the real MGS4 is MGS5, Peace Walker is MGS6, and MGSV is MGS7. Just accept that V stands for both Venom and 5. Remember, [sp]Eli was said in the tapes to be way stronger, faster and smarter than the other child soldiers he ended up throwing in his lot with., and Eli is a clone of Big Boss - Between Solid and Liquid, Liquid got the better genes. So it logically follows that Big Boss really was some sort of super soldier - But naturally born, and for reasons that are never adequately explained.[/sp]
[sp]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifY5kktFw44[/sp] why the fuck isn't boss like this throughout the entire game he's so fucking cool, so slick and poignant yet in most other scenes he's some sort of fucking cardboard cutout
We could always argue that he is cardboard cutout because [sp]"he represents the player and asks just dull simple questions what player would itself ask"[/sp], or the writing just sucks dick.
Well, I actually didn't think it was all that out of place. He was very cheerful in MGS3, but became more grim in Peace Walker - He changed in a big way after losing an eye and being forced to kill The Boss. Then his [sp]base was destroyed, all his men killed, and Paz blew up in his face - literally.[/sp] What do you expect that'll do to a man? Major ending spoilers follow: [sp]Also, Venom has all Big Boss's memories and was an MSF soldier instead, so that trauma carries over.[/sp]
I find that argument a crock because there's scenes like the [sp]breaking eli's arm scene[/sp] where boss demonstrates that he's actually a fucking good character
There are times where I feel Boss should be more Bosslike (i.e. [sp]the car driving scene[/sp]), but there's definitely a lot of cutscenes where he's more than just a decoy. In relation to the continuity people mentioned earlier, I'm still wondering what PooPs canon they mentioned, because I haven't seen any (or maybe I forgot about it when it appeared in an earlier tape)
i just realized that (ending spoilerz) [sp]it makes sense that Kaz, Pequod and everyone else still calls you Boss even if you're playing as a different soldier, because if you think about it they're all just avatars, and it's still just you, the player[/sp]
Got stuck on mission 18. [sp]A good old fashioned shitty ass escort mission with every bullshit in the book. Thanks Kojima![/sp] Fuck getting S rank full stealth on this one. I'm going full Rambo on their asses next time. Also i am awfully slow at progressing in this game. I really need to stop messing around and fulton everything i see :/
