there's like barely any material anyway
4 or PW would be infinitely better candidates
iirc the Broad Spectrum guys were gonna do Let's Destroy the Patriots but hiimdaisy shut the project down.
i just overheard 2 russians talking about them getting armored vehicles and how they'll take some time to arrive since the vehicles were in south africa
(the 2 russians were literally in a mansion in the middle of the african jungle)

yeah, kind of understandable because tbh, the broad spectrum guys aren't very good writers
or artists

yeah and the zaire border is in the middle of the continent
It's been said a hundred times already, but what i really wanted was a game that closed the loop and explained how Big Boss went from Peace Walker to Metal Gear 1. Like not just explained how he gradually got more morally ambivalent, but also explained such weird things like, how the hell did the notorious mercenary Big Boss became the leader of FOXHOUND.
The origin of Big Boss from the original games has already been entirely retconned by MGS3 so, there's literally no information on how the hell that happened despite him being the leader of a notorious mercenary army with nuclear strike capabilities. Twice. And with the cold war against Cipher/The Patriots as well, it's pretty strange.
he already formed FOXHOUND in PO
[sp]he's also big fucking boss, he probably has a ton of swing with US government[/sp]
you know exactly how he built up his army, twice now, and you know how he got nuclear strike capabilities so I'm pretty confused what more you want
MGSV pretty much explains away every single thing about Big Boss there are no more questions
[sp]yeah we never got to see him meet Wolf or Fox and Vulcan and all that and that's kinda lame but let's just assume he did and call it a day[/sp]
4 has too much information to condense into a comic
I think it's best it stopped with 3
too much information what
If you look at the tape screens during PW, you can see he has grey eyes through the shades.
He also takes off his glasses at one point in this game and clearly shows his clouded eyes, which is probably why he's asking.

I thought that was just the FOX unit, and it didn't become FOXHOUND until like the 90s or something
I thought that was just the FOX unit, and it didn't become FOXHOUND until like the 90s or something
No, it was formed in by Campbell and Biggu Bossu in POOPS, assuming that part is canon anyway.
Thing is, soon after, Big Boss left America. He's no longer an official citizen by Peace Walker since he went off to form his own mercenary unit apart from any nation.
...And then he just suddenly comes back eventually and resumes leadership of FOXHOUND, despite being in a cold war with Cipher/The Patriots, and afaik not even being an US citizen anymore at the time.

I'm 80% Ocelot offhandedly mentioned Foxhound already existing in one of the 3 billion exposition casette tapes.
Lemme take right here to also adress cassette tapes, I know they're supposed to replace Codec calls but boy howdy are they tiresome
nice 10 minute chunks of Ocelot or Miller dropping tons of completely impersonable, forgettable exposition while Snake sits there silently
there's next to no humor in any of them, nor are they particularly fun or interesting to listen to, and for gods sakes, why did you get such a good voice actor for Big Boss if he's just going to do his ryan gosling impression the whole time
Yes, but barely more than the second. Also, the second is semi-auto.
Oh my god, is it?! I've used the top end brennan on the Metallic Archaea fight and it's like an instant win mode, but a semi auto version of the gun might be a bit much.

Also, if you try to listen to them during a mission, they'll constantly get cut off by fucking Miller on the radio.
And most of them are really not interesting enough to just sit down and listen to while doing nothing, imo. Especially the Code Talker ones.
Holy shit after playing the phantom pain I went back to ground zeros to 100% it, and it feels like an entirely different game because of a few minor things.
Things like after doing the dive you don't go prone, instead you go back to a crouching position, and Snake's turning radius is larger and he controls a bit more sluggishly than he does in TPP. It makes it feel a lot more different than the fast stealth you can do in TPP.
The problem with the Code Talker tapes though is that half of them are just repeating the same stuff he already said in other tapes.
there's next to no humor in any of them,
I was wondering why they didn't do the dive into prone right away in GZ, I think you had to press or hold crouch to stay prone. Luckily in TPP they realized that if I dive I probably want to crawl right after.

Yes, the part about Campbell and FOXHOUND from PoOp's is canon.
In [sp]The Truth Records, i believe the LET one or the first Big Boss report[/sp] Ocelot says "It was after you formed FOXHOUND and left America" Which would've had to have been during Portable Ops' timeframe.
Ocelot also mentions [sp]obtaining the second half of the legacy[/sp] which is an event shown only in PoOps.
Really anyone who says PoOps is none canon is just delusional at this point. Like the whole Ghost bullshit is probably non canon but the rest is.

Yeah. I really fucking hated GZ, personally. Highly doubted they were going to change the very basic gameplay mechanics like how Snake moved and such, really thought I was going to completely hate TPP as well because I just could not stand that movement.
But they changed it and all is well.

You do stay in prone in GZ if you don't hold any movement keys or tilt the movement stick, but it sort of flows poorly when you have to stop holding the button to move then hold it again after the dive is finished.
And in TPP you can dive without holding any direction as well.
Listening to the hamburger tapes was weird because it was one of the few examples of Kaz not being serious as shit.
THE PERFECT HAMBURGER
Hamburger chronicles are the singular exception to like, all the problems I had with most of the other tapes. They're interesting, there's actual back and forth dialogue, they have humor and charm and character.
Too bad they're pretty short, and it's the only thing like it in the entire game.

Yeah, he's even doing the PW voice. He's doing a completely different voice for all the rest of the game, it's really weird.
And presumably non-canon.

in gz you crouched after diving if you tapped the button, but if you held it down you'd stay prone.
and when you didn't press any movement keys.
idk, [sp]in the lack of anything actually happening i presumed code-talkers "eyes on kazuhria" thing to be about him embezzling DD money to run a burger shop[/sp]

but if it's canon he would obviously have solved all the worlds problems by now, duh
and he'd also have regained his cool voice instead of his REVENGE voice

He talks in his cool voice a lot though.
[sp]the paz's charred pubic bone kind[/sp]
yeah but it doesnt look charred, its pitch black with a little bit of shine
charred bone would've lost the charred dust pretty fast, given the amount of action venom gets
or obviously i'm just overthinking and its all kojima's fun and games
mate did you just record a ps vita recording of a tv screen
