Also fuck the [sp]puppets[/sp] when they wear riot suits. I literally got sick of those assholes in the side-ops and brought my 100 shot silenced railgun rocket launcher to blow them away.
you could just grab them and slit their throats
I think we can all agree for the first couple of times this happened:
Most of the players who have FOBs don't partake actively in retaliations or otherwise simply because they don't have decent gear or are too afraid of the FOB component of the game. I've posted earlier that I generally invade FOBs simply for the resources (which are extremely plentiful on the Base development platform) as these FOB resources are processed online and then given to you in processed format once you log in.
As I mentioned above, even if you don't steal a single thing yet you do get spotted and discovered, you can still be retaliated against. While it would be silly for someone to retaliate against you even though you've stolen nothing, it can happen. That said, invest heavily into your Base Security. Stock higher level soldiers into your Security Team. The higher the ranks, the more quickly they'll react to player nuisance and are more likely to engage an intruder once they've been spotted.
I absolutely love the FOB component of the game, but that's because I like to ruin other peoples' days from time to time.
That's not true; I never get the wormhole warning if I go total stealth no matter what.
and I've gotten my shit rocked multiple times from people I've pissed off so I'm just really soured on the idea of fucking up people's bases. I want nukes to disarm, no more, no less.
That's not true; I never get the wormhole warning if I go total stealth no matter what.
As long as you don't get the notification [Infiltration Discovered] you have nothing to worry about, but yeah, you're right. Ocelot always notifies you at the end of an infiltration if a revenge wormhole has been opened.
Hopefully they do add MGO functions and items (puppy doll) to the SP. Having CQC options to the riot shields would be great.
The problem with CQCing when behind a riot shield is that I dont know how it would work. Since Melee is bound to the same press as shooting with a gun equipped, you'd run into the problem where your shooting would 'break' if you manage to fail to hit them. Conversly with being able to CQC shielded enemies I don't think that would work well for multiplayer. Grabs are quite powerfull in 1 on 1 FOB duels, and (as far as I know, at least its like this on NPCs) shields protect you from being grabbed - with the consequence of making you a bit of a sitting duck to grenades. Since shields are only really handy in close quarters as only a few seccondary weapons are just okay at long ranges, I don't want grabs to totally dominate the close quarters range of fighting.
I get the feeling that the tank Huey was making was intended to be drivable and customizable. Mostly due to the way it was made to (by Hueys words) be all-terrain. Aiding to this, most of the menus with items only have a few you can ever select (most notably the Tools menu and Shields menu).
I can only wonder what more was intended, if Konami will release DLC packs with more content (I'd actually buy them if they are good) and if people will be able to reverse-engineer the game well enough to allow for mods that allow new equipment.
Seriously, I could probobly make the Airfoil launcher from Splinter Cell:Chaos Theory by having a grenade launcher (normal 1-shot or underbarrel), removing its explosion, making it silent (?), slightly increasing its range and then giving it high stundamage with no flash so it knocks out only the target it hits. Done, and done with no new models or heavy changes to the coding.
oh joy a nade spammer came to defend his base when i was right next to his core
fun

This is correct, they can't retaliate if you don't steal anything and don't kill anyone; so going non lethal and straight for the core is as risk free as it gets (it does end the blockade on your FOB if you got invaded recently however). If you get spotted and then infiltrate successfully they can, obviously
you could just grab them and slit their throats
these are the [sp]zombie[/sp] fuckers that i'd rather not get into CQC range with seeing as just getting too close knocks me down if they know i'm there
so i bless them with ragdoll death

Yeah, I knew most of the stuff that was cut from other sources but this video shows the biggest ones. I'm surprised they didn't manage to give enemies search/attack dogs. The wild wolfs and such work alright in the wild, just make them friendly to enemies. He also mentions the cut scenes, the one with the child soldiers training in still in the game, mission 13.

it's really not that hard. you just sprint at them, grab, and stab. then on to the next one.
You can also grab them, choke them out, then fulton them.
Speaking of, how do i unlock the [sp]Wandering Puppets[/sp] sideops anyway?
Blockade? I didn't know that. It prevents anyone else from invading you for how long?
6-24h depending on the amount of damage the last invader caused
AFAIK it only protects you from randoms, not people retaliating

So I suppose it's quite literally an extra sound file incase [sp]you're at the point when he's kicked off the team[/sp].
Mission 40 protip: [sp]During the regular Quiet duel she has small amount of stamina so the supply drop gets her quickly, like 2 and it's done. During the extreme version she has way more. Instead of spending a lot of cash and risking she moves away you can shoot her with tranq/non-lethal stuff and once she has small amount of stamina finish her off with the supply drop. This will count as defeating her without firearms. She likes to move away but if you very shortly tap the aim button that will keep her busy enough to stay put.[/sp]
it just hit me that one of the people i stole nukes from, well

but i'm disarming too so who knows

I thought this was nothing special then I realized you're using a gamepad. Watching you overcome your disability was very inspiring.
At this point nothing we say or hope for can make Metal Gear Solid V a better game inherently, only in opinion. But something has me fear that a good amount of the development problems the game had isn't ridiculous shit Kojima was spending random money on or so forth, but mostly the engine and its 'perfection' as well as Silent Hills. They had to go through who knows how much work just to let Konami keep them on developing the engine, but Kojima riskily tried to make both MGSV and Silent Hills at the same time (with that effort probably either starting with or diverting to P.T.) in full. That'd probably fuck with any game development.
Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if until its cancellation in April, the reason why we were seeing so many cutscenes that made MGSV seem so complete earlier this year was because it was mostly complete, and Kojima and team had their schedules diverted almost full-time to Silent Hills while Metal Gear would be finishing up the backburner with things like Episode 51. Then Silent Hills got cancelled, Kojima was put in a more difficult contractor position, Konami started their passive-aggressive bullshit where Kojima's team had to go through an approval system for anything that could take a week to two weeks and all sorts of other horseshit just to make them quit, and otherwise. Such rapid-fire circumstances would not only wreak hell on any development team's scheduling, but also just utterly ruin their development altogether if it wasn't absolutely finished yet.
I was chilling at that one outpost from the "A Hero's Way" mission, and I could hear the creaking noise that the chandelier made in PT. I don't know where it was coming from, but it was kind of creeping me out.

There are quite a few PT references in MGSV. One of the radio clips (I think in "Where Do The Bees Sleep?") is the radio clip from PT.
How Operation Snake Eater went down according to TPP:

Holy fuck, just let me delete my FOB already. Half my hard earned fuel resources gone because of forced online functionality and a broken system that lets players steal everything you have while you're sleeping.
[editline]September 2015[/editline]
It's fucking embarassing. Want to get more staff for your singleplayer experience. Open up your entire base for all the world's hackers to somehow steal everything you already had by hacking their way from point A to point B, and end up with less resources and staff than you had before! :^)
Fuck whoever came up with FOBs. Fuck em so hard
The way it makes the iDroid somehow load slower whenever you're online, the entire system is a big middle finger to everyone.

FOBs wouldn't be so bad if they became attack immune if you were offline, and were optional but still buildable.
FOBs wouldn't be so bad if they became attack immune if you were offline, and were optional but still buildable.
Then they'd just be impossible.

Only if you get caught.

People can respond to FOB invasions even if you don't trigger an alert.
Every fucking time I log on I'm told some cunt has stolen about 20k of fuel resources and a bunch of A++ grade soldiers, literally the game's best feature.
Just maximise your fobs security and don't get caught invading other people. That should make the gains greatly outweight the possible losses.
edit: especially considering how you can dispatch twice as many combat deployment groups with an fob meaning a constant flow of cash and resources.
i know some people tear up inside just a bit when they lose their hard earned virtual dudes and fake diamonds but the game is constantly shoving spades of new top rank soldiers, resources and money in your face.
and you can put a large number of staff on direct contact if you have any that you want to keep for some reason.

Its a pretty good feature on PS4. But like all games on PC, hacking is the greatest deterrent to fun.
