The open-world has given the game a bit of a Ubisoft feel. Last night I found a man deprived of his skull, "Face."
[sp]- Two guards at the entrance to Mfinda Oilfield talked about how Big Boss blew up Mfinda Oilfield.[/sp]
[sp]At least with this, I can assume that Cipher/XOF blamed the explosion on Boss and spread the rumor around, regardless on if anyone saw him or not.[/sp]
[sp]At least with this, I can assume that Cipher/XOF blamed the explosion on Boss and spread the rumor around, regardless on if anyone saw him or not.[/sp]
But the thing is, [sp]it was before I'd blown up the oilfield.[/sp] :v:
considering some people's ramblings about FOBs i'm sure i'm not alone in the opinion that next to the criminally underutilized Mother Base as a whole and the forced chopper rides everywhere unless you started a Mission in free roam, FOBs are probably one of the worst functions of the entire game (in my opinion, which i'm not even going to try to claim is objective) Seriously, just to build one or add a platform it takes several real-time hours or even over a day. Arming and preparing the forces that protect them is unintuitive, and if you're playing on PC there's no reason to ever have your troops fighting lethally due to all the hackers. The security team in and of itself is pretty much a cull or unit sink, and if you don't watch it then both volunteers and even previously existing troops can get stuffed in there automatically by the game apparently, which puts them at risk if you don't use Direct Contact for more than a handful of specific soldiers. Not to mention the Security Team's level for developments only goes towards their own items for FOB defense; they can use weapons automatically as you develop them, thankfully, but having a high security team level is basically superfluous and nonexistent towards any other development. And of course, one bad player is all it takes to lose a lot of good staff from your main roster regardless if some asshole either ruthlessly snipes everyone with a Brennan, packs a 100 round grenade launcher, or just teleports to your goal point. The only thing that seems to be remotely fun is if both Invader and Defender intentionally play in a way that isn't all-out for a proper game of cat and mouse, and the only time I imagine that'd only really happen on consoles. But most defenders will just abuse chokepoints to spot you, and then deliver sniper rounds or rockets down your throat; and playing through a fully decked-out FOB makes me realize that balance-wise, the game only has a handful of places with this many guards to slog your way through in the actual side-op/mission areas (like [sp]OKB Zero[/sp]), it's like up to 4 small bases filled with up to at least 10 or more troops each that can quickly reinforce eachother in under a minute. Those are odds that a skilled player might overcome, but really don't feel like they were meant to be fought against with anything but the Battle Dress and a full armory's worth of weaponry to fuck their shit up with. [sp]god i keep getting all critical and ranting about things i need to stop doing this but FOBs just aren't fun at all[/sp]
just finished mission 45 and i guess i'm in the minority because it wasn't very difficult
just finished mission 45 and i guess i'm in the minority because it wasn't very difficult
It was probably a lack of planning that led to a lot of failures, but what was your strategy?
It was probably a lack of planning that led to a lot of failures, but what was your strategy?
to be honest, the only planning one mainly needs is to know to bring a good rocket launcher or survive long enough to drop a better one in than the grom after that it's pure combat and survival skill versus sniper tanks
I'm so mad that we never got to use the [sp]Battle Gear.[/sp]
I have the slight feeling of DLC Also MGS V is possibly one of the best and most fun game I've ever played
Any further word on the TGS DLC? As much as I like boobies I hope we can use The Boss' sneaking suit zipped up.
I have the slight feeling of DLC
Konami have flat out said no single player DLC. Apart from costumes and shit like that. [sp]The Battlegear is used on the final dispatch mission.[/sp]
I have the slight feeling of DLC Also MGS V is possibly one of the best and most fun game I've ever played
nah, kojipro said the [sp]battle gear[/sp] severely unbalanced the gameplay during testing so they opted out of player's being able to control it personally.
nah, kojipro said the [sp]battle gear[/sp] severely unbalanced the gameplay during testing so they opted out of player's being able to control it personally.
My Battle Gear is resting in the Mother Base since it has been completed and I apparently can't deploy it on outer ops. Does this thing even has any purpose at all ? Miller and Huey also mention you can customize it but it seems you can't. Lame.
I tried to play the game in full roleplay, with camo and shit. Is the camo even usefull ? I swear guards could still spot me from pretty far away.
does anyone know how to fix/prevent the [EXTREME] Backup Back Down glitch were only 2 tanks spawn?
Jesus Christ, did no reviewers play chapter 2 I've seen less padding at Victoria's secret shows It's not just that uoure replaying missions but they picked the absolute bottom of the barrell least fun "Back up back down" ooh yeah I was itching to play that again Subsistence would be fine for side ops but restricting me from the rest of the plot until I play a bunch of these awful things? It's a shame because Chapter 1 ends so ROCK solidly, its an explosive conclusion (and Fuck you guys the jeep scene is fantastic) and then you come down from that high for a bunch of gimmicky levels and every now and then Eli appears in a cutscene
It's a shame subsistence can't be enabled as a modifier of some sort during mission prep. Really does re-vitalize a lot of missions. I just did side-ops for a while and Chapter 2 progressed fine.
[sp]The Battlegear is used on the final dispatch mission.[/sp]
Nah, it is literally used in every key dispatch mission.

how are capture cages meant to work? i've been placing them everywhere but i've got nothing as far as i can tell
It's obvious that they ran out of time when the execs told them the game has to be out september 1. They probably cobbled all of chapter 2 together within the last year and had most of chapter 1 done when GZ was released
It was probably a lack of planning that led to a lot of failures, but what was your strategy?
as soon as i could i called in a better rocket launcher (the one that launches multiple rockets) and i just stayed low behind cover only popping out to shoot. i also told quiet to cover me so she kept dudes distracted. any time i got injured i ran inside and waited for a bit.
how are capture cages meant to work? i've been placing them everywhere but i've got nothing as far as i can tell
If you use "Return to ACC" they won't work.
how are capture cages meant to work? i've been placing them everywhere but i've got nothing as far as i can tell
They don't give you anything if you just return to the ACC from the menu. You have to return via calling the chopper in (dunno about fultoning yourself out but that might work too). Then you'll get your extracted animals in a similar style to volunteer reports.
Even from the first teaser back in like 2012 or 2013, they ended up showing bits of every cutscene in the game leading up to the release :v:
Yeah what the hell, even in the mission 51, the only thing missing from it were Eli's lip movements and everyone else is wearing a gas mask and it looked like the level needed some polish. What were they doing all this time? Because it seems like all the assets were already there [editline]28th September 2015[/editline]
They don't give you anything if you just return to the AAC from the menu. I could never do it because I could never get into a vehicle once I began the process

It's a miracle chapter 1 is as good as it is. Also, I think it only works on crates.

In fact that whole mission is just weird. [sp]- "Boss, I'm in the helicopter with Huey and Eli for plot convenience. Sneak past a small army into their fortress, approach their leader and hope instead of shooting you he tells you his master plan." - It works. - Skull Face is knee to knee with Snake and reveals his plan to wipe out the English language, and pulls out the bioweapon to do so. Snake doesn't react at all, just sits with the usual thousand yard stare. - Sins of the Father's chorus plays out of nowhere while the two of them sit blankly. - Instead of killing Skull Face and bailing with the virus, Snake is willingly lead into a trap. - Man on Fire is summoned and walks under a flatbed, is written out of the main plot. - WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - Snake does not say a single word in this mission.[/sp] Except Skull Face's infamous line, what is there to like?
To be fair, Big Boss has never really had much of a reaction to when his villains unveil their plans. I think he never even said a word directly to Volgin in all of MGS3, he was just looking like he wanted to CQC his ass all the time.

We don't know if any of the mission or level was even remotely done.

The car ride was pretty neat because it gave me a new perspective on the map but it's a shame that skullface's army exists solely in that scene
