Does anyone know how to use the bait bottle properly? I tried trying it out recently but I could never seem to get anything the happen
Well it's pretty cool that it happened at night for me, is it supposed to happen at night? The car ride was pretty neat because it gave me a new perspective on the map but it's a shame that skullface's army exists solely in that scene
I started it at night but by the time we passed the [sp]burning bodies from the purging[/sp] it was daylight, it felt more like the jeep ride was there and so extended to give the game a possible change of a time transition for extra effect.
The jeep scene is a strange and awful attempt to be epic. In fact that whole mission is just weird. [sp]- "Boss, I'm in the helicopter with Huey and Eli for plot convenience. Sneak past a small army into their fortress, approach their leader and hope instead of shooting you he tells you his master plan." - It works. - Skull Face is knee to knee with Snake and reveals his plan to wipe out the English language, and pulls out the bioweapon to do so. Snake doesn't react at all, just sits with the usual thousand yard stare. - Sins of the Father's chorus plays out of nowhere while the two of them sit blankly. - Instead of killing Skull Face and bailing with the virus, Snake is willingly lead into a trap. - Man on Fire is summoned and walks under a flatbed, is written out of the main plot. - WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - Snake does not say a single word in this mission.[/sp] Except Skull Face's infamous line, what is there to like?
I dunno, I feel like you're nitpicking. I liked it just fine, and none of that is out of the ordinary for Metal Gear or action movies/games in general. I think it was a great mission (to be continued's included) to end Chapter 1 on.

That's about it really, even the final scene with BB and Kaz was boring.

"AMERICA?" "LANGUAGE?" It's not a metal gear thing to interrupt the villain monologue, you just let them talk
Is there a guide somewhere explaining how the camo works? Like I've been using the sneaking suit so far and I feel like people start spotting me pretty fast even when prone in bushes. Also is there a stat menu somewhere? Heard you get some stuff [sp]at 500 and 1k fultons[/sp]
About mission 30 [sp]what really bothers me when it comes to Snake's silence in this mission is the fact he shows so much care for his troops. Yet when he faces Skull Face, the man responsible for the destruction of MSF, death of many of his soldiers and his coma there's not a single reaction from him. Especially with PTSD I think that would trigger some strong reaction yet he does absolutely nothing.[/sp]
Yeah I'm sure that scene would be perfected if snake interrupted skullface every two seconds with "PARASITES?" "AMERICA?" "LANGUAGE?" It's not a metal gear thing to interrupt the villain monologue, you just let them talk
For the whole travel tho ? Having Skullface exposing his masterplan with Snake not giving a single fuck was pretty awkward. And so was the use of Sins of the father for no real reason other than "WORDS THAT KILL"
While I agree that the whole riding with Skullface was boring,I liked Sally's reveal. Then, for the final battle, it chases after Snake in REX mode as it already does, only to have the walking mode activate to terrify the ever-living shit out of both Snake and the player. As it is, the REX mode only is there for the second encounter's cutscenes for the sake of a throwback and nothing more and simultaneously you see the proud-and-tall Sahelanthropus in even the very first meeting.[/sp]

He's not an idiot. There's also the fact that seething rage can often lead to complete silence. He could give less of a shit about Skullfaces plan he just wants to see him die. There was no need for any dialogue in this scene. I have no idea why it's so loathed.[/sp]
Jesus Christ, did no reviewers play chapter 2 I've seen less padding at Victoria's secret shows It's not just that uoure replaying missions but they picked the absolute bottom of the barrell least fun "Back up back down" ooh yeah I was itching to play that again Subsistence would be fine for side ops but restricting me from the rest of the plot until I play a bunch of these awful things? It's a shame because Chapter 1 ends so ROCK solidly, its an explosive conclusion (and Fuck you guys the jeep scene is fantastic) and then you come down from that high for a bunch of gimmicky levels and every now and then Eli appears in a cutscene
i liked backup back down except the side objectives are retarded and basically require you replay it multiple times
For the whole travel tho ? Having Skullface exposing his masterplan with Snake not giving a single fuck was pretty awkward. And so was the use of Sins of the father for no real reason other than "WORDS THAT KILL"
I thought the song playing at that part was perfect cause it made you realize that all the lyrics are entirely about Skullface's plan.

All I know about his life is that he got neutered and he spent like 10 years with The Boss so he hasn't suffered like Raiden has
The scene could be massively improved if they'd just give Snake a couple of lines at least. He doesn't have to have a counter-monologue of his own, just a few words to show that he's not just taking a nap or something. Maybe slap some handcuffs on him too so he doesn't look so awkward looking like he's waiting for a bus.
So me and my mother's boyfriend were going through a bin of his old action figures and I found an old McFarlane Solidus. [t]http://i.imgur.com/hqRvWH7.jpg[/t] I had to trade my Duke Nukem figure for him, but it was worth it. There's also a semi-complete RAY there.

Best/Cheapest Metal Gear REX figure?
I think it's more the fact that [sp]while Skull Face keeps posturing, motioning with his hands, and even sticks the goddamn English strain of parasites infront of Venom's face, all Venom does is sit there like he sits on the ACC and squat like he's trying to ignore an annoying younger sibling that won't stop going "are we there yet" in a cramped minivan.[/sp]
Minor Spoilers I guess. Basically:
There's a lot of ways to interpret Snake's silence during the jeep ride. It could be him being silent because he realizes Skullface is batshit crazy. It could be because he's seething with rage. It could even be because he doesn't want to be rude by interrupting him
Best/Cheapest Metal Gear REX figure?
there are two/three options the 3a full size rex, which is huge (36cm), ludicrously expensive ($350-400), and out of production so GOOD LUCK the 3a half size rex, which is half as huge (20cm), still damn expensive ($230), and currently up for a new production run for release next month-ish and the kotobukiya, which is the smallest of the lot (14cm) and also the cheapest at $50-70 but is also a model kit so you're going to need to possess the equipment and knowhow to assemble and paint it and generally make it look not shit
Minor Spoilers I guess. Basically:
It's tidbits like this that make me wonder if more points in the game were going to have options like [sp]when you shoot Quiet or spare her.[/sp] Alternatively just cut dialogue that was basically lampshading the whole scene.
big boss hasn't suffered what the fuck are you smoking get out of here
Not like Raiden has. That dude had it really bad
Not like Raiden has. That dude had it really bad
The game sales of MGS3 were not as good as MGS2 due to Raiden being the protagonist and throwing everyone for a loop. So I think it's safe to say that Big Boss definitely suffered more than Raiden.
Well I just ordered the Legacy Collection. This will be my first experience with MGS. Can't wait
Not like Raiden has. That dude had it really bad
[sp]Big Boss was part of the Bikini Atoll nuclear tests that irradiated him and rendered him infertile for the rest of his life. He then had to take on what was supposed to be a simple operation that eventually turned into The Boss' deliberate double-agent defection that turned into a potential nuclear crisis worse than the Cuban Missile incident, and was not only forced to eventually kill The Boss personally, but was somewhat betrayed by EVA despite having fallen in love with her. Then he found out that The Boss died because of loyalty to her country, her country that basically abandoned her to be killed by her own student because of something completely out of her control and spite they had for her upshowing them in the past. Then follow that up with Big Boss pretty much being hated by the world in the grand scheme of things. While Raiden went through some truly horrifying shit as a child soldier, the plot and characters went out of their way to state that he was the only one of his group who could not and had not forgotten his trauma, as if refusing to just put it down despite seeming like he did. The cyborg stuff for MGS4 was pretty much his choice and he sort of degraded into a self-loathing individual from there until the end.[/sp]

And it ends with the same silence and Sins of the Father starts (not from a radio though).
