Kojima really knows how to get a crowd going.[/QUOTE] Even with the hype aside, no one but the most cynical could've imagined that we literally had almost the entire gist of the game just from the trailers alone, besides [sp]how much of a monster Huey became and the matter of the Parasites, even people like YongYea accurately guessed the parasites would be plot-important, be the power of the Skulls and Quiet, and be responsible for both the zombies and the Diamond Dogs slaughter scenes.[/sp] I knew there wouldn't be a whole lot of story, but as someone put it, "We hoped there would be the trailer cutscenes and more, but what we got was arguably less of a picture than even what the trailers painted." I could handle the Mother Base being nothing more than a gimmick with minimal interaction, and I can tolerate the open world being pointlessly bland and uneventful, but even despite knowing the story wouldn't be the focus going in, it was still plot developments I saw coming five miles away when there was actually any plot in the first place. Random cutscenes on your Mother Base, or dialogues between enemy or DD troops were more amusing than the actual main story. Dare I say it, Quiet's entire subplot was barebones too but that was leaps and bounds above the main story.

The biggest problem with MGSV is that, even if it was climatic, it would still be pointless like Peace Walker. Everything we learn from PW and TPP could have been inferred from what we learn in MGS3, and we only got these games because Kojima was being forced to make the series (at the cost of his others, like ZoE). Overall, I can't be too mad at the problems of MGSV because it's a bonus to what we would have gotten had Kojima been able to stop.

Sahelanthropus should have been a diversionary metal gear like RAY in MGS2. The real metal gear should have been a power suit for skullface with the justification being that sahelanthropus is too big to be a conventional weapon and has too many drawbacks and that a powersuit is more practical

There certainly doesn't seem to be any shortage of fuel in the later games, and Snake WAS successful in retrieving it. Assuming that happened, there wouldn't really be a reason to bring it up again.
