Speaking of Skull face... WHAT THE HELL Happened to him between Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain? In Ground Zeroes he was sick and fucking twisted and [sp]Makes Chico Rape Paz[/sp], now all he does that is memorial is [sp]"Such a lust for revenge....WHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOO0!"[/sp]
I need to get something out of my system.
Yeah, someone in this thread used the perfect word: hammy. He's so fucking hammy in TPP. Honestly, (first half) [sp]I don't even get how people feel that Chapter 1 felt complete or final at all because Skullface was such a fucking dumb and undeveloped character that I literally did not care when I killed him and I was honestly about to be extremely angry when the game started acting like that was the final mission. [/sp]
He's like a damn scoobie doo villain. He declares everything with a ridiculous announcer voice and for fucks sake HE'S THE EVIL VILLAIN SKELETON MAN. Like, really Kojima. When the first trailer with him in it came out, I was fully capable of accepting this dumb character design because I figured he would be well written, and the extremeness of his design had me interested after all. [Sp]when he died, I felt like Kojima was still fucking with me, act 2 must be the real meat? Right? I just finished the cremation scene and I'm still waiting.[/sp]
And the weirdest part is that he sounds like the GZ tapes in what few tapes he's in in TPP.
We need MGS1-3 ports on FOX engine. Mantis fight sucks (my fault for picking normal difficulty), camera somewhat sucks.

i am foaming at the mouth @ this post, this is deplorable, please cut your ethernet cord and set your computer on fire
the mantis fight is one of the best in the series and the top down perspective combined with the radar is what makes mgs1 fun and fast paced
The jeep scene is my favorite scene in MGSV by fucking far.
I'll do a long write-up about why I love it and yojre all wrong but I'm way too tired right now
I love skullface
He unfortunately can't top Liquid and Solidus but I thought he was a delightfully charming villain with a fairly interesting backstory
But I dunno maybe I'm retarded

Something about the whole game really feels like a rewrite happened at some point or another, probably a hasty one due to the game having to meet a deadline this year considering all that script talk on Twitter in February / March I believe. Miller's lines ranging between normal tone (often reused from Ground Zeroes or Peace Walker), a more cheery or arrogant tone, and this raspy revenge tone at complete random, apparently people say Ocelot has a fake southern accent that comes and goes but I never noticed it, the numerous cut lines of Big Boss and Skull Face that implied there was going to be more overall to the context and interaction of things..
Something more than just Episode 51 and other content was going to be there, perhaps different story context or factors from what we know altogether. Especially considering [sp]once you rescue Code Talker, the Parasite containment on Mother Base is instantly cured in a 3 minute cutscene and then the game ships you off to fight Skull Face right afterwards[/sp] and the fact that while motion capture is one thing, it probably wouldn't be hard to record new lines and then put in lip / face sync over the motion capture separately to rework the story pacing.

If you're using the camera on normal mode you're doing it wrong

this post is a mystery
Something about the Parasites [sp] What the fuck was the point of infecting Zero? Dude was old as shit even by TPP, the AIs were taking over anyways. just a giant plot point that solves nothing and adds nothing to the overall plot. You don't need to explain why he was in a wheelchair... he was over a hundred years old.[/sp]
[sp]I wish there actually was a main villain. There's just a skull guy who gets crushed by a girder, a kid and his psychic gas mask friend who flies away with your robot halfway through the game, and then that's it. Pretty much all the others had some big climactic ending, but I'm not sure fighting Sahelanthropus yet again, this time with Eli at the controls really would have been a great way to wrap it up even if they did have time to include it. I guess they could have maybe made Hal the main villain if his sabotage plans went a bit better.[/sp]

[sp]Zero was going to stop the Patriots or at least try to, and was still in a position to command and act considering he had direct control over Paz's operations in Peace Walker. But Skull Face wanted to use the Parasites for his revenge and wanted to spite Zero for being representative of what English, as its concept and disambiguation, had taken from him. In essence, Skull Face denied Zero his attempts at redemption, his direct and near-successful attempt to kill Big Boss denied Zero his attempts at reconciliation directly to Big Boss, and ultimately this all denies Zero from being able to prevent the rest of the series despite coming to his senses.[/sp]
You could say MGSV as a whole does nothing for the series overall, we probably should've expected it, but at least some context helps instead of MGS4 literally just going, [sp]"Oh, Zero and Big Boss and Ocelot and EVA and Sigint and Para-Medic all made the Patriots, but Big Boss got pissed about cloning, Zero became a dick, Para-Medic was Dr. Clarke all along and now Zero's a vegetable."[/sp]

Where is it implied that [sp]Zero wanted to stop The Patriots/The Patriots AI[/sp]?
Where is the tape for You spin me right round?
Where is it implied that [sp]Zero wanted to stop The Patriots/The Patriots AI[/sp]?
I'd probably have to relisten to the tapes again but I remember there being something of a [sp]solemn / melancholy mood about what he did as if regretting his actions,[/sp] I know some sources I've read stated it as fact but thinking about it I don't think it really did come out and say anything explicit. My memory's not that great though.
i don't think he was going to stop them, [sp]he just hated the way it was turning out and knew he didn't have enough time left to change it[/sp]

[sp]You don't remember the whole "This world will become one, I have found the way." speech? He still wanted to go forward with the Patriots, just not with the parasites. Instead using the artificial intelligences and the internet.[/sp]

Yeah, I guess remembering the rest of the game probably clouded my thoughts on that. My bad.
Yeah. I'm pretty sure the melancholy mood was more about [sp]Zero basically being his own prisoner, trapped in hiding forever.[/sp]
I forgot I was sitting in a dumpster and I'd just been listening to the 80s mixtape while doing other things
I feel bad I left snake in there for an hour

People have already responded to this, but I just wanna add [sp]Skullface took away from Zero his ability to communicate, the only thing he COULD do due to his age and secrecy - without a leader, XOF was able to wrangle control away from Cipher and do their best to take over.[/sp]
I still want the snake "you stink " cutscene
How do i do make snake filthy for non erotic purposes

Jump in a dumpster and use the phantom cigar
[sp]I thought it was great. And while Big Boss never really talks to his villains, he usually does react in some way. He just looked like he was listening to his idroid during the whole jeep ride.
I think the music should be playing throughout the whole thing though instead of just coming out of nowhere. I almost synced up the music by randomly playing it during the ride.[/sp]
spoilers

imo it was a lot more powerful [sp]without dialogue during that part[/sp]
reminded me a lot of this scene from stalker and wouldn't be surprised if it did not heavily influence kojima knowing his love of film

So does anyone know how to export audio files from the game?
this post is a mystery
You only need the soliton radar.
Soliton radar master race
[sp]Does anyone else think Sins of the Father should've played during the ST-84 fight[/sp]
Thinking over it all, literally the core gameplay saves Metal Gear Solid V for me, along with the fact that the base plot isn't bad, just sort of meh.
If Ground Zeroes had never sold me on MGSV I probably would've ignored it all together and bitched about things later, but it's literally the excellent game at the heart of it all that keeps me coming back. Were it as significantly questionable and subjective as the rest of the game, i'd probably put this down and go play MGS3 again.
my only real problems with TPP's gameplay was the entire motherbase management aspect, balancing issues (silenced tranq rifle = ultimate weapon) and the lack of large infiltration sites - the airfield and OKB0 made for the best mission settings IMO. I wish there were more locations as large as them.
Has anyone tried F-Ballista on enemy chopper?
Yes, I've tried it twice, just to make sure it didn't work. And it didn't of course.
he also tries to [sp]kill every English speaker on the planet[/sp]
did you miss that part
not really. [sp]The parasite isn't that effective. The point is that every english speaker will be too afraid to speak english.[/sp]
