Holy shit MGS V is so fucking cool. I'd just wish Kojima would make it more clear that he made the game. I mean, he could plaster his name on the side of the huey for a starter.
what mission is the WHOOOOOOOOOO thing in? these mystery videos are killing me
what mission is the WHOOOOOOOOOO thing in? these mystery videos are killing me
If you really wanna know it's mission [sp]30[/sp]
Code names are based off last 3 missions
In that case its still not correct because I CQC Knife people, knifing someone is lethal.
I wish there were more fonts available for the letters in your emblems. The blocky letters they have you use are pretty ugly.
So why was FP down?
Because nanomachines
Oh hey! I stole my first nuke! :toot: So how long does it take for me to get it? It's about 3 hours right?
And... it's gone, someone's already stole from me before I could dispose of it Well that achievement was short lived
And... it's gone, someone's already stole from me before I could dispose of it Well that achievement was short lived
So wait, the game forces you to wait to be able to dispose of it despite fucking wormhole technology in the post-game if the player develops it, but other players can steal it in the span of the three hour wait time? I get Kojima probably wanted it so players would compete over nukes and all, but that's.. kind of dumb.
This clusterfuck makes me really just disengage from MGS's story as a whole. I only ever really cared about Big Boss, and I really didn't follow MGS2, and with MGSV I'm inclined to believe that I was supposed to care about the convoluted as fuck superspy story arc much more than the character.
The problem is that MGS2 was never supposed to have a sequel. "Who are the Patriots" was a question that was never meant to be answered. MGS2 itself seemed to imply that the Patriots where some sort of meme that had been passed down for a hundred years and spread through the U.S. government, not that they where goofy support team from MGS3. MGS2 was the logical endpoint for the series. Solid Snake's story arc was already over in MGS1 and when Kojima and his team decided to develop the sequel they decided to make a deconstruction of the series as a whole, and MGS1 in particular. You can't really make a satisfying followup to that.
I still miss this so much. Wish it could be in the game. Despite the events, it'll always be the MGS theme to me.
I think which codename you get at the end of a mission is based on the percentage of neutralizations in the last 3 missions, and not "doing x" for 3 missions. For example, if you neutralize one person with a rifle in one mission, then one with CQC in another, and then a whole bunch with a rocket launcher in the third (while getting detected at least once in all three to avoid Fox/Foxhound), you'll get the rocket launcher codename because the percentage of rocket kills over the last 3 missions was the highest. Just today, I got the Bee (pistol) codename while redoing the [sp]retake the platform[/sp] mission and that was the only mission I ever used a lethal pistol in, but I killed everyone, so the percentage of neutralizations from pistols was much higher than neutralizations from whatever I did for the previous two.
I still miss this so much. Wish it could be in the game. Despite the events, it'll always be the MGS theme to me.
It really makes me wonder how the MGS Theme would've sounded nowadays had they been able to keep using it. :saddowns:
D-walker has the fall damage immunity though, making it the better transport buddy. It just can't shit.
I call bs on that, I was trying to do this one mission where you have to eliminate armored vehicles for a guerrilla forces or whatever, I was going to do the side missions something about extracting tanks, near the end of the mission on my 3rd friggin try in a roll due to loads of stupid mistakes and there being no checkpoints during that mission pretty much had me flaming mad and annoyed at that point. I had Dwalker and wanted to take a shortcut to the last tank and slipped off a cliff in legs mode and died from the fall. And a death before that, I learned that Dwalker can't take grenades worth shit, again near the end of the mission all I had to do was exit the hotzone and there was this one outpost infront of me and I wanted to like punch a dude before I finish, rushed up to a guy and right before Dwalker grabbed him, he unhooked a grenade which fell on the floor after Dwalker picked him up and in sync with Dwalker slamming him to the ground, he exploded and thus destroying Dwalker and killing me in the process. It was pretty badass since all you could see was this explosive slam Dwalker just did but then I got fuming pissed that 20mins just went down the drain because I wanted to punch a dude. I gave up after 4 tries on that mission, every single try I'd make it to the last tank or approaching the last tank and I would die in the most ridiculous ways, it's not even deaths from direct fire in combat phase.

BB being betrayed by his country from being tricked into killing The Boss should have been the point where any person could see why he turned heel in MG1. Is that a bad oponion?

Is that a bad oponion?
I think that's a good opinion- it's a point where it didn't try to connect the past with the future, and was just a fun romp in BB's backstory. Unfortunately, the demand of the public was to explain what happened after 2, so Kojima decided to. Now, we're here.
Kojima isn't great at leaving plot points vague but satisfying. He even said that mgs1 would be his last metal gear game, but he ends it with there being 3 clones of BB and one of them is the president of the United States. [editline]1st October 2015[/editline] The end of mgs3 was perfect though we didn't need to know more.
Honestly, the gameplay gets better but the stories get worse as the series goes along. It's no surprise that Kojima eventually ran out of steam come MGSV.

Maybe he had that put in at the end as a bargaining chip. I do agree that the series should have ended at least before 4- the attempt to tie everything together at that point really wasn't worth it.

DD is such poop, oh you are aiming with anti material rifle? BARFK BARFK Bond with DD has decreased, oh you are driving a truck? Bond with DD has decreased, oh you are using stun arm? Bond with DD has decreased.
Heh, I got in a slapfight with a defender under the bridge between two base stations in an FOB. We just kept trying to knock eachother out and throw the other off the side, it went back and forth like back and forth three or four times, then he almost gets me off the side but I regain consciouness right as I go over, so I grab onto the ledge, wait a moment, he seemed pretty sure I was falling to my death, so I crawled back up as he was starting to relax and threw him off. :v:

Either you've got bad luck with his AI or you're really damn reckless with him.

What little we get of the supernatural in MGSV is so much better than pseudoscience/[sp]da parasites.[/sp]

Kojima simply took it as "if people want answers, I'll give them the best answers I can." I don't think his writing style changed, I just think he believes what we want has changed.

One time when I was driving around in a jeep I jumped out while it was moving & DD jumped out as well, then he proceeded to get ran over by the same jeep him just jumped of! Bond with DD decreased Then once at motherbase I had jumped in a jeep, since it was one motherbase DD didn't get in with me, while I was parked & not moving at all, DD runs full-pelt into it Bond with DD decreased

I bring Quiet for basic recon and the occasional long range tranq, but other than that I don't actively use my buddies very often.
