Is the walker worth using/upgrading? I haven't really used anyone but Quiet yet because having a sniper that can clear out base camps for you seems way better than the other options.

My translators have been sitting my waiting room for a while now, and I still get everything translated. Also, I can now confirm that codenames are based on neutralization percentages. I rushed Lingua Franca twice with D-Dog, taking down the same one guard each time (for a total of two). Then, I did Metallic Archea with D-Walker (four kills) and got the ostrich codename.

I don't even get the point of nukes, huge resource investment and they just end up making you a target since 150k heroism is stupid easy to get In fact once I max both my MB and FOB I might just build one to get invaded more often

Yeah instead of a deterrent it's more of an expensive way of saying "fuck up my mb fam" Its just a noob lockout. Serves literally no other purpose. Personally I'd rather be attacked by noobs so I can get barricaded more often (I don't like logging off without them personally) Like you say it just attracts every dedicated player who wants the disarmament achievement Just wait till nuclear equipped targets tab is active, then it'll really fuck people up. You can't direct contract all of them, mostly just above 100 soldiers.
