How the hell the game expects me to extract 6 prisoners in Backup back down is beyond me It's like this games fucking Dante must die
Well, you pass the mission even if you destroy just one vehicle, so that leaves plenty of time for other stuff
Can't, max GMP 24/7 too.
I wish you could buy processed resources. I'm at max GMP and minor metal but I'm out of common metal so I can't develop shit :v:
that's what i've been using my PF points for but i still don't get how they work
that's what i've been using my PF points for but i still don't get how they work
You get PF Points for winning virtual battles against other PFs in your bracket. The points are assigned every week, I believe.

Once there, get the two common metal tanks and run out of there, then restart the mission once you hit a savepoint.
For anyone on PS4 there's a Community for Facepunch players specifically for MGSV and MGO. Add me (Departing) or Taggart250 for an invite. (Or just reply to this with your PSN) If you check Discover Communities > Friends Communities, you might see it there as well if you're friends with anyone who has joined.
FXHND_Miller Add me bruh
Peace Walker had a shitton of tapes, categorized with almost every major character and topic. In V it's kinda the same but it's pretty scarce. I don't get how a handheld title had more vocal content then a console title.
Peace Walker's main story is nothing to shout about but the tapes are where the writing really shines. The setting of MSF and its characters feel really vibrant and alive, shame Diamond Dogs never got the same treatment.
Fucking infected douchebags.. How the hell am I gonna quarantine everyone that [sp]speaks kikongo[/sp]? Thats like... Half my base...
Once you've gotten 4/4 on all your mother base platforms, is there anything to spend your resources on other than development, deployment, and [sp]____nukes____[/sp]?
Once you've gotten 4/4 on all your mother base platforms, is there anything to spend your resources on other than development, deployment, and [sp]____nukes____[/sp]?
sell it for money so you can send in pequod and bombard shit all the time so you don't have to do anything
I don't like how you have to be somewhat near C4 or mines for them to work. For Backup Back Down, I thought I was being smart by placing mines on that one final stretch of road while I went to rescue the prisoners. Turns out the tanks drove right over them and they didn't go off.

Metal Gear Online launches next week. I really hope it goes better than GTA V Online's launch. [editline]2nd October 2015[/editline]

Holy dick nose, batman!
I hope I can dress up my MGO-man in the naked animals camo. I want to strut around the battlefield wearing nothing but a pair of leopard print pants and the croc cap.
I just want my avatar in the mgo. is there any more info we can look at on how gameplay works? Who is equivalent to snake in the enemy team? Why the fuck does one team get 2 main characters? (Ocelot/Snake)? Balance? Is every one of those generic soldiers a player character, and if so, how do you work the distractions such as the puppy doll? I wanna see an actual match going on in beta or something.

Each of these avatars can be one of three different classes, which can have different outfits. I don't think there's any equivalent system for "boss" characters, just "oh if you wanna be ocelot then you can become ocelot", unless Boss is on team snake and ocelot is on team liquid (it's unclear). For things like the puppy doll, if it gets in your sight, you pause in place like soldiers do with dirty magazines. That MGO video from before is the only footage we have, iirc.
Erm, did you play MGO2?
absolutely not no
Fuck backup back down Even tho I'm chapter 2 and have tanks and rocket launchers it's still not even remotely fun I also dot even know how the hell to find 4 prisoners
are you kidding it's the most fun shit ever lol
Just watch the gameplay demo, that just shows a full match.
I thought I did, what I saw was nearly identical to the trailer just with a voiceover [editline]2nd October 2015[/editline]
are you kidding it's the most fun shit ever lol
Eh its debatable It's probably fun with infinity bandana, but otherwise..
I thought I did, what I saw was nearly identical to the trailer just with a voiceover
Except that it had answers all the questions you asked there. Are you sure you watched the actual gameplay demo? It was way more technical and less scripted than the original trailer.
sell it for money so you can send in pequod and bombard shit all the time so you don't have to do anything
ROCKET SALVO ROCKET SALVO!
Eh its debatable It's probably fun with infinity bandana, but otherwise..
its fun if youre not trying to do all the side objectives
Except that it had answers all the questions you asked there. Are you sure you watched the actual gameplay demo? I just remember watching what looked like a gameplay demo with commentary then later saw the announcement trailer and they were identical except without the voiceover. I guess I'll have to see it, I know I didnt see anything if they had the opposite team using Skull Face as snakes counterpart or anything [editline]2nd October 2015[/editline]
its fun if youre not trying to do all the side objectives
I actually prefer the side objectives over chasing the tanks down

OO lala, female avatar creation? Wonder if it'll carry over
Backup, Back Down was actually my favorite mission in the game. Riding around on D-Horse with a rocket launcher while "Rebel Yell" plays, it just felt really cool. Actually, I would have really liked to have seen Snake have more interaction with the Mujahideen, maybe have battles with AI guerrilla teammates.
A lot of people defend the cassette tapes in MGSV, comparing them to Peace Walker. However, Peace Walker didn't turn story critical information or exposition in to optional cassettes. I'm sort of okay with turning the codec conversations in to cassettes (sort of, because it obviously didn't work that way considering how boring most cassettes are compared to the majority of the codec conversations in the series) but I'm not okay with putting stuff that should have most definitely been cutscene content in to boring ass cassettes. Sorry if I'm repeating what has already been said a thousand times in this thread alone. The biggest pain I feel regarding MGSV is in regards to the story and volume of important exposition turned in to cassette form.
The thing is that Phantom Pain's story isn't really "solid" (heheh) simply because it's open world. The variety of ways you can go about beating the game is really the biggest factor in the "lack of story" that everybody is whining about in Phantom Pain. Thus the usage of the cassettes is justified in my opinion because in the scope of the series as a whole the story in Phantom Pain doesn't hold as much weight. In any case, I like how they've been put on cassette so I can listen to them later. I remember the worst part about Metal Gear was me constantly having to press A... A... A... every time something remotely related to the story was brought up, or if I needed to save the game. Having it all on cassette tapes makes it so I can listen to it after the action is done and I'm riding the bus or watching TV. You can't take the Codec around with you IRL and listen to past convos. I paint my Walker blue just so I can pretend I'm Sonic as I speed across the Afghan desert emptying hundreds of bullets into their armor I haven't tried Quiet on that mission yet but apparently Sinful Butterfly can take down vehicles. What's even funnier is just waiting for all of them at the end of the path on [Extreme] mode, and setting down electro magnetic mines. You can 100% complete the mission easily with hilarious results and an S-Rank to boot. and you don't even have to move from that location until the [sp]tanks and helicopter come[/sp]
