Early game I did the one highly-skilled soldier side-op that had a sniper on a cliff in Afghanistan. After having to fight my way past him because I alerted him without knowing he was there previously, I took him and his goons down non-lethally one tranq at a time and fultoned them. Then I thought "hey it's not that high" and dived off the cliff where Snake took a dirtnap and had to do the side-op over again due to free roam area checkpoints.
Shouldn't it have auto-saved as soon as you extracted the target?
Shouldn't it have auto-saved as soon as you extracted the target?
Auto-saves are very finicky. It seems resetting to a previous checkpoint can literally overwrite the auto-save. Which means quitting in the ACC after doing security changes and so forth, even if the game says it auto-saved, seems to not work quite right since the ACC counts as its own checkpoint from when it starts up, same with when you leave for a mission.
god that X-ray Phantom Pain poster with the hook hand looked so fuckin cool, i wish they didn't jump straight to the robot arm after the intro
Does anyone fucking notice how badly they fucked up that poster though? Nobody fucking noticed but me, i swear. His arm bone. Look at his fucking humerus, his RIGHT humerus, the shoulder, everything.
So I recently beat the main story in Peace Walker (don't worry, I'm still going), but I'm wondering... when am I supposed to get shotguns? I don't have a single shotgun in my inventory, but I've already researched level 2, 3, and even some 4s on most of the other weapons.
I've heard bad things about twin snakes but it sounds so much like something I'd enjoy if its really just MGS1 on MGS2 engine. But I hear voice acting is horrid, I'm just not sure how horrid. The difficulty change for the easier due to mgs2 mechanics complaint I've heard wouldn't bother me. Maybe someday I'll try to find a copy, but I don't think wii u lets you play gamecube discs. I wanna form my own opinion basically, but gamecube exclusive makes that hard Edit: Also, should edit this pic because (MGSV true ending spoilers) [sp]the two msx games aren't retconned at all now[/sp]
Twin Snakes is worth playing if you've already played the original. Also, if you homebrew your Wii U and install Nintendont, you can play it there.

Alrite so what the everloving shit are you supposed to do when [sp] you go to fetch quiet after she buggers off and you're having some kind of stupid standoff against a mechanised unit, my rockets and tank shells do sod all damage to the enemy vehicles, they soak up so many shells it's rediculous. Pretty sure that mission will bankrupt the fuck out of me. Any tips?[/sp]

call in a sandstorm and run around fultoning everything, easiest way to do it if you don't care about an S.
-snip-
Just recently finished MGS 3 and boy it was quite a ride, not sure if it's just the HD collection but I never really worried about the stamina system on normal until the boss fight with [sp]The End.[/sp] Possibly one for my favourite games list.
[sp]Drop in a missile launcher because the one you spawn with sucks[/sp]
Well it's a very similar looking one to what I researched so pretty sure I don't have anything better..wasn't really expecting...this

If you have no good launchers, fulton via container out of there and build them because you're stonewalled otherwise.
[sp]Drop in a missile launcher because the one you spawn with sucks[/sp]
I think what you started with is laying on the ground after that scene [editline]2nd October 2015[/editline]
Fulton via a container out of there or drop a better missile launcher in, because those enemies will not give you much time to rest at all with their sniper shells. Feels a bit shitty much like that other mission where you're suddenly forced into a loud non stealthy confrontation. I don't mind a boss fight but this..bit silly
the biggest issue with that mission is the one shot tank missile with even fully upgraded battle dress just so stupid
I was playing MGS5 today, doing some missions grinding motherbase dudes and stuff. So I decided to call in a vehicle cause I was running with DD, and just as the vehicle got close enough for the parachute to detach, DD walks underneath it, and the car fell on him. Good news is my bond didn't decrease for that, but apparently tranqing him does.
the biggest issue with that mission is the one shot tank missile with even fully upgraded battle dress just so stupid
Yeah, I get that far, slogging through everything then just get 1 hit blapped by that and it's blocking my mission progress. Pissed me off. First mission to do so thus far.
wait can you get s-rank by just fultoning out? just leave them behind?
It will abort the mission, but you can't quit Mission 45 any other way. You can continue it again later. Also you can container-fulton extract yourself and still get S-Ranks on other missions when they're completed if you need to get out of the hot zone or so forth.
Yeah that mission is honestly way worse than back up back down in hundreds of ways [sp] not only does it suck shit but it also takes quiet away[/sp] fuck that tank missile so much, just so annoying [editline]2nd October 2015[/editline] oh and if you skip the cutscene when its over, and this is after rank is rewarded too, [sp]you get fucking stuck like an idiot because you don't notice the footprints and theres no way to exit mission[/sp]
Yeah that mission is honestly way worse than back up back down in hundreds of ways [sp] not only does it suck shit but it also takes quiet away[/sp] fuck that tank missile so much, just so annoying
Backup, Back down is quite easy when you learn to abuse it, you either do the no traces trick for S or if you want to extract everything wroom wroom DWalker F-Ballista
How do I prevent quiet from leaving? I hear there's a butterfly emmblem thing or something but i'm not sure how or why that all works
How do I prevent quiet from leaving? I hear there's a butterfly emmblem thing or something but i'm not sure how or why that all works
Basically [sp]by having the Butterfly in your emblem that you apparently get from maxing out her Bond, I can't quite remember accurately, before the whole 'Find Quiet' side-op that leads into Mission 45, the side-op and the mission consequently never appear when you get to that point and you can go onto 46 without issue. Once you remove the butterfly from your emblem after meeting the conditions for her finale, though, that's it; Quiet will disappear ASAP and put up the side-op.[/sp]
butterfly is from quiet getting more kills than you in missions [editline]2nd October 2015[/editline] also it just works [editline]2nd October 2015[/editline] the downside is the story will never be complete and you'll have to have a fucking butterfly on your emblem 24/7 so sick of seeing those on FOB profiles
