maybe spoiler tag that last paragraph but <3 otherwise
Is it me or does the whole [sp]quarantine event[/sp] feel kind of shoehorned? [sp]It's the only time in the entire game the language mechanic on your troops matters, it literally gives people who didn't know Kikongo the language previously which can and will doom some of your best men if you don't play it safely or are just plain unlucky, and you have to manually sort through every single unit to pluck out EVERY single person with Kikongo so it doesn't spread. Including pray that volunteers (who come in sizeable quantities per mission) and anyone you had in the brig don't also bring Kikongo in to sneak past your shit, much less members of the staff magically learning Kikongo during the duration too.[/sp] And then the moment [sp]Code Talker[/sp] is brought back and the whole thing is resolved, the game immediately swings into the final missions of Chapter 1 like they had no idea what else to put after that.
You are completely right on all accounts, but I think people are just saying that Walker Gears are something that is physically possible (and pheasible) in our world :v: Compared to, say, invincibility nanomachines. Speaking of invincibility nanomachines, why didn't anybody give that shit to Snake at the end of MGS4 so he could live out the rest of his lifespan?
Honestly after seeing all those Boston Dynamics and DARPA robots im convinced that something along the likes of a Walker Gear could very well exist, it would just take a little more time and fine tuning to make it actually work good. Give it a decade or two.
Are walker gears even practical? The only thing that seems practical about them is that they are mobile support weapon platforms.
They are quite good at defence, and could be used in riots? just replace the minigun with a water cannon
There's really no reason to have a bipedal weapon platform, it's going to be relatively easy to topple no matter how advanced it is. There are already some four-legged prototypes which work relatively well on rough terrain, but that kind of mobility really isn't as big of a deal as Huey & co. try to convince you of, it's not going to win you any wars or take over the world

Give me all of the robots.
The theme that Metal Gears seem to have in MGSV is a mix of intimidation and utility. D-Walker is after all, an extremely cumbersome and difficult to use platform, but mastery can allow you to speed through a village with a gatling gun to slaughter every single unlucky bastard in your path. Meanwhile Sahelanthropus is an overpowered thing, but way too implausible to be of truly efficient use in real-life - but [sp]Skull Face's plan hinged entirely on the world merely finding out about such a thing to cause social unrest and governmental unhinging from the resulting chaos.[/sp]
Also, high maneuverability in small tight places? I mean you'd have a harder time doing stuff that you'd do with a relatively human sized manned mech if you used a tank.
They should remove Walker Gear's feet and just slap 4 small tires around it, go kart to surpass metal gear.
Maybe they just ran out of time before this could be put in, it seems like an easy way to counter a walker gear is by tripping with wire traps. Also before I boot the game up again, is mission 30 replayable?
Fuck you i want robots. Give me all of the robots.
Screw the Walker Gears, all I want is a Metal Gear MkII. Preferably the one from Snatcher with a massive CRT monitor stuck to the side. [editline]3rd October 2015[/editline] Man, imagine if Kojima made a new Snatcher or Policenauts in the style of the newer Telltale games.

I kind of wish Kojima didn't show off Sahelanthropus in the last trailer and simply made it look like Rex until the reveal in the boss fight.
Man, imagine if Kojima made a new Snatcher or Policenauts in the style of the newer Telltale games.
"Man, if Kojima made (something not metal gear)" is probably the theme of the past 10 years with the man.
Hopefully Kojima will have better luck in future endeavors than outside attempts from other studios who were willing to help the Mega Man series
I kind of wish Kojima didn't show off Sahelanthropus in the last trailer and simply made it look like Rex until the reveal in the boss fight.
I went in to Phantom Pain without reading/watching anything about it, other than the trailer at the end of Ground Zeroes. Sahelantrophus' reveal was pretty good as I didn't know anything about it.
I kind of wish Kojima didn't show off Sahelanthropus in the last trailer and simply made it look like Rex until the reveal in the boss fight.
They shouldn't have shown it's true form of in any of the trailers and they should have had it stay in it's REX form during the first encounter. [editline]3rd October 2015[/editline] Man, the Metal Gear MkII reveal in Snatcher is so good!
MGSV endgame spoiler [sp]It really sucks your avatar will always get reshaped once in the game, probably to fit the animations. It removes all the unique angles of your crafted face and a kind of squishes the head into a boring-looking nobody.[/sp]
i feel like i'm the only person here who prefers sahelanthropus [sp]walking upright[/sp] in the first encounter that section wouldn't be nearly as tense and horrifying if it just looked like a rex knock-off

huh, apparently all the DLC stuff that was shown at TGS popped up on steamdb 2 days ago they're all separate, i hope that won't mean they'll cost 5€ each or else i'll laugh forever
The fact that we'll have to pay actual money for the tuxedo is really dumb.

MGO may not come to PC that day unless we're hit with an unexpected surprise but the DLC will be out for PC users presumably.
The fact that we'll have to pay actual money for the tuxedo is really dumb.
Well, It's Konami after all. Suck more money.
Hopefully the DLC can be purchased in MB coins since that's literally how their store system works. Real money for an amount of MB Coins.

Skull Face did nothing wrong.
