i like it because it's the only lucina alt costume that isn't horrible
Christmas Lucina is pretty neat, or the one where she has short hair.
Especially her short hair alt.
I hadn't realized that Tiki Lucina looks very christmasy until you pointed it out.
I might use it more.
Which one is the short hair alt? [sp]you're talking about marth aren't you[/sp]

It's missing my Asuna colour, White and red.
Does anybody know the best way to get custom moves?
Crazy orders just keeps giving me either dupes or equipment.
Also, what side are you guys choosing for this week's conquest? It's Bowser Jr. Vs. King DDD
I'm going to rep the good king DDD
I hate playing Bowser Jr online. Haven't had a single match yet where the input delay didn't severely cripple my gameplay with him.
Offline he's one of my best characters, to the point my group of friends give me endless shit if I pick him. He's just too timing-critical to translate well to a >0 latency environment.
[editline]t[/editline]
Fox too. I'm sure I could get used to netplay lag for them, but the last time I tried, it started messing with my reflexes when playing them locally, so I stopped.

That Cordelia recolor is killing me.

I'm partial to trophy rush. It's a short time investment and afaik you're guaranteed at least one (usually more) custom move and/or equipment for the character you play it with, as long as you hit the customs when they come down during fever rushes.

Yeah, I'm the same with Bowser Jr. as well as Captain Falcon. Falcon is probably one of my best characters, if not my best. If I play him online, I miss just about every single grab, always sliding past them and missing. I got to the point where I dealt with the lag, but playing with friends irl, I then started missing all my grabs as if I was playing with lag.
I've just decided to not play Falcon online unless the connection is good enough, which is probably about 15% of the time.
Does anyone else have a different set of mains online and off? It's the only way I can really think to bypass that issue, and it's been working out well enough for me so far.

I really wish Sm4sh had more depth in the gameplay.
It's really the perfect smash game (except singleplayer because that shit is either infuriating or boring where's target smash), but I can't keep feeling like something is missing from the core gameplay.
personally i wish shieldstun was more prominent
Pulled Mr Saturn out of the ground with Peach on FG against a Puff.
The match lasted only another 20 seconds.

There aren't enough options for punishing excessively defensive or outright cowardly play.
I wish Sakurai would've taken the stale dodge mechanic from KI:U and put it in Smash, so that the more you roll or dodge in quick succession, the fewer invincibility frames you get in each one. Would discourage roll spam without making them any less effective when used appropriately (IE, when used to dodge attacks, rather than to flee after spamming projectiles)

there is the one glaring flaw of this game. the fact that playing excessively lame is actually less punishable than fucking FIGHTING

I looked at the track list and got super disappointed Smiles and Tears isn't on there.
Or any EB track for that matter. Earthbound got treated well in the music department in Smash 4, so what gives?
a bunch of the tracks are from fucking melee and brawl for god's sake. "SMASH 4'S FANTASTIC SOUNDTRACK; HERE'S A BUNCH OF SONGS REUSED FROM OTHER GAMES".
i've had a dump of the OST for ages and the Aus CD got delayed till april or something so i'm beyond caring about it.

The biggest sin in my opinion is that there is no Megaman music on the soundtrack, yet Pacman gets 3.

This was the exact same issue that Brawl had. When competitive players complain about how much slower Brawl was, they're not necessarily talking about the actual run/attack speeds, they're talking about how ridiculously long it takes to accomplish anything and how moves don't link together, making it easy for a player to escape and restart the stalemating.
Unfortunately, this is going to keep happening as long as they favor rewarding defense over offense, and honestly I feel that the rewards for being campy/defensive/cowardly are way, WAY too high in Smash 4 (arguably even worse than Brawl in that regard). It's a pretty huge issue and is quite jarring, especially when combined with the lack of KO tools on most characters and the ditching of the ledgehog mechanic.

That too. Spark Man's remix is godlike, but it's not on the album either.
God making one character with 8 colors is so much work.
and the ditching of the ledgehog mechanic.
Ledge stealing is new and as such hasn't had much strategy formulated around it yet, but there are already possibilities surrounding it, such as intentionally stealing the ledge from on the stage to knock a recovering opponent back into an unsafe position or into something deadly (since the arc in which you leap off the ledge when stolen is always the same)
I don't think it will be missed as much as people assume. It isn't totally killing a strategic element, it's replacing it with a different one.
[editline]3rd March 2015[/editline]
And besides, I wouldn't call ledge hogging a "mechanic" so much as the result of a gameplay oversight (not the same as a mechanical quirk, which wavedashing was). Even as recently as Brawl, things like gimping were near completely unknown to the developers; they didn't really see more than one player being off one end of the stage at the same time being a common occurrence outside of chaotic 4P FFA, so they didn't accommodate for it. They're well aware now though, which is why they opted for ledge stealing instead.
This was also done to serve the 5+ player matches, as one person being able to doom seven others just by grabbing a ledge was ridiculous and frustrating in testing.
That too. Spark Man's remix is godlike, but it's not on the album either.
Air Man's too
I wish they'd done a cover of Flash Man's theme though. That was always my favourite in Mega Man 2. The whistle concert from the end of Mega Man 3 would've been good too.

The best part about the new ledge mechanics is twofold.
Scummy players who spend the entire round just hanging onto the ledge and regrabbing are no longer given a free pass.
Ledge stealing opens up some new strategic ways to gimp a recovery by forcing an opponent off the ledge without hitting them, thus it doesn't refresh their ledge invulnerability. Unless they jump directly back onto the stage, you get a free attack when they regrab the ledge. It puts them into a mixup situation if they try to regain footing because now you can punish a predictable recovery.
the sound effects in sm4sh are really inconsistent
ike's sword makes splashing sounds, some characters have retro sounds for attacks while others don't (and i don't just mean some characters have them and others don't, imean some attacks will, and other attacks on the same character won't even when they'd make sense). duck hunt has lots of retro sounds, his stage is a voxelized version of the screen from his game, but he has a dumb wheezing laugh instead of the iconic laugh that made people fucking remember him
like what the hell, it's so weird and inconsistent
to be honest other aspects are like that (dark pit's final smash versus koopalings, just give them a magic wand and an animation instead of shadow mario and keep it the same otherwise for fuck's sake) but it's just really weird.
Slightly late response, but the one I notice the most that I have trouble unhearing is the fact that Mario's forward aerial voice sounds significantly lower quality then the rest of his voices. Like they ripped it from Brawl without even upscaling or anything.

Ledgehogging was never a developer's oversight. It even gives you bonus points in Melee for each time you do so that denies an opponent an edge (4 times as many as a KO does), under the name "Edge Hog".
ike's sword makes splashing sounds
IIRC Ragnell isn't even very sharp, it's practically a club. What you're hearing is actually the echoing sound of crunching bone.

Then what's the sound when you hit Kirby? No bones in him
