Is there a Youtube video or something with those parts?
I got bored of the interviews and stopped watching early.

d1 also mentioned it, and other commentators too. prob they signed for apex staff?
The shocking revelation will be "that certain character" being Diddy Kong and it's a "we didn't ban him so he's here" thing.
I really don't see how they'd have inside information like that, it reminds me of ZeRo after winning the e3 invitational going on Reddit with "I learned something REALLY amazing and I can't wait to tell you." "Nintendo said I couldn't tell you guys actually sorry." Then never mentioned it again.

Must have been Pac-Man being in the game.
Hey if anyone still needs a copy of the Wii U version PM me. I have an extra sealed copy I need to sell.
Nah, it was after Pac-Man got announced. He said he'd be able to talk about it closer to launch but never did mention anything.
Just thought of another game series that has a character that would make a great fighter, Monster Hunter.
Since it's pretty much Nintendo only now, The Hunter himself/herself would make a cool fighter, dunno how he/she might work but I think he'd/she'd be interesting.
Does anyone want to do Melee netplay?
Add me on Steam from the little link under my avatar.
So on a scale of 1 to "Oh god why would you torture yourself like that", how difficult would it be to use custom moves and subtle stat modification for each character to get as close to perfect balance as possible?

Custom moves are good. If there's an equipment I'd like to see for competitive play it would be a "(+0)(-0) Smooth Lander" item that everyone can get. Would make competitive play a whole lot more interesting.

I think you misunderstand a little. What I was suggesting was creating as good of a universal balance as possible with special moves and equips on each character, with none of it being user selectable.
Basically, one loadout per character that puts them as close as possible to being on par with the single loadout for every other character. Meta Knight getting more launch power, ZSS getting the charge blaster instead of the stungun, Kirby getting more speed, that sort of thing; polishing up the characters which have the greatest number of unfavorable matchups, altering the ones who have the most favorable ones, and generally making everyone as viable as possible, while toning the flowchart-friendly or straight-up better ones down to be a bit more reasonable in most scenarios.
That'd be cool but it's not feasible since equipment can't be shared system from system iirc it's just randomly generated
Some guys in this thread are working on porting models and textures from this game, if y'all are curious.

Man, I have this one friend.
He's good. Damn good. I rarely win against him. Maybe one out of ten rounds I can manage a victory.
I tell you what though. I don't mind losing all that much. I won't deny; it would sure strengthen my confidence in my abilities if I could win more often, but- it's all a learning process. You gotta get good somehow.
But when I turn to this guy- this guy, whom it took every ounce off effort in my body and soul to shave one or two stocks off of while he predicts my moves like a goddamn psychic, and he's over there, looking all humble and shaking his head, being like "Man, I did pretty shit that round." I get salty. Like, motherfucker, at least pretend you had to work towards it, Christ.
I love the guy, but goddamn.
I cannot do 1v1 with Dedede against any kind of character with long range attacks and good grabs and I don't know how to improve against them

This is from the WiiU version, just FYI. DHD, Megaman and all 8 Villagers are going to be included in a pack for Garry's Mod and (presumably) SFM soon.
Try this at home, kids: As Little Mac, drop a fuckton of smart bombs in training mode and then F/Usmash into them.
Been practising with jigglypuff recently. Whilst in 1v1 I barely win, in 2v2 you can be fucking deadly with your rest and edge guarding, it's great. Is an amazing team character, would recommend

Fly like a majestic eagle and spam nair. If they're a distance away then devour the projectile and dont stop till they get frustrated
Edit: Catching up on some stuff, seems ZeRo thinks Meta Knight is still super good

After I've been playing more of him online I'm inclined to agree, other than extremely high lag games and against characters with very safe and hard to gimp recovery like Lucario he performs surprisingly well.
So I just cleared classic mode on 9.0 for the first time (3DS Version).
Out of curiosity, what sort of skill at the game does this indicate? It was rather hard for me but I don't know if it's considered to be that hard for the general smash community.
Not a whole lot other then you read a boss right. CPU's read inputs at 9.0 so it's not really a indication of anything.

There is no proof that they do, and datamining doesn't show anything either.

They quite obviously do, have you seen the shit they pull sometimes?

The stages leading up to the final battle are no more difficult than playing with level 9 AI with items on and not on omega stages. Sometimes bullshit will kill you, sometimes bullshit goes in your favor.
The fight with Master Hand, Crazy Hand, Master Giant, Master Beast, Master Edges, Master Shadow, Master Fortress, and Master Core are considered more difficult simply by virtue of how differently they play from a typical Smash encounter. Smash is normally all about spacing and launching your opponent, these bosses ignore that entirely -- so the strategy becomes like any other SNK boss fight. Be patient and just read the pattern. Use attacks that come out quickly enough to be safe on-hit while still dealing respectable damage. Of the phases, I'd say Master Shadow is the toughest because it breaks the SNK-style fighting to return immediately back to Smash style. There's no more reading a pattern at that point, it comes back to Smash skill. Unfortunately since it's still AI, there's no reading or mindgames going on, just bruteforcing your way through the fight. On certain characters, this becomes especially annoying when they have frame-perfect counters to keep you from dealing damage.
Clearing classic at max difficulty shows that you have patience in your fighting style. For slower characters such as Ganondorf and Dedede, this is an especially useful skill as they are forced to be patient but hard-hitting. In general, this means that you have the capacity to take a moment to let your opponent act and then you react according to what they do. This sort of counterplay is rather useful against players if your reaction time is quick. You'll be a lot harder to hit if you play patiently and defensively, but don't hesitate to lay down some hurt when opportunities present themselves -- and don't be too shy to make opportunities appear, sometimes aggression is the way to go.

Yo they perfect shield a ton of shit all the time and are capable of grabbing spawning items the second they show up. They totally do.
They're not unbeatable for it but there's clear button reading
