I mean, I kinda want Snake in the 3DS version, but if I really wanted to play him I could always go back to Project M or Brawl. Same goes for some others.

I don't think a character being an assist trophy instantly cuts their chances. They can just recycle the model, make it better, bring some of the mechanics of the assist trophy to the fighter, and then can the AT. Possibly add another one in it's place. Which reminds me, SSB4 doesn't have an Isaac from Golden Sun Assist Trophy like in Brawl, does it? I don't recall ever seeing it.

They could easily just make the trophy only release that character if no one is currently playing them.

I'm thinking of voting for Felix for Golden Sun, since Isaac's design is boring as fuck (although his Dark Dawn redesign is pretty good, it's not his iconic look) and they've both been main characters for a game.

Everyone expected the Mewtwo trailer, but no one expected Lucas, and I sure as hell didn't expect X and Protoman costumes for Mii Fighters either. Smash Bros steals the show even after its release, and only Fire Emblem and FExSMT caught me off-guard alongside 200cc Mario Kart 8.
