Holy shit, CHIBI ROBO! I'd love to see him again.
also I'm not sure I can agree with you on the nintendo wars' characters being iconic, as I personally could not name a single one and off the top of my head can only imagine one kid in an orange jumpsuit carrying a wrench from some promotional art.
That kid was Andy, the main protagonist (alongside Sami, who would make a great Snake moveset clone, and the less viable Max) of three of the Nintendo Wars games.
Well that just shows that I'm super ignorant about the series I guess, I thought they changed the whole cast every game like in Fire Emblem.
[editline]3rd April 2015[/editline]
and "iconic" status is super irrelevant anyway, especially considering [sp]somewhat forgotten[/sp] throwbacks like Ice Climbers and Pit before uprising
That didn't stop them from bringing back Peach's.
Wait so dancing and putting people to sleep while having giant peaches pop up out of nowhere was a medieval torture method?

What usually happens is they do two or three games then reboot the series in an alternate continuity, but the Advance Wars continuity (excluding Days of Ruin, which is a different continuity) is by far the most popular both in Japan and the west. In a sense, instead of choosing wildly different times within the same timeline to have different casts like Fire Emblem, they instead choose different timelines that lead up to a similar conflict and then make several games based off of that timeline before going to a new one.

This shit is now looking like elections.
Dude I want this to be a thing. Companies putting out election videos and funny slander videos to get into Smash. A little friendly competition.
That model is great too, actually. He made it JUST for the possibility of Quote's inclusion.
That model is great too, actually. He made it JUST for the possibility of Quote's inclusion, in the span of two weeks.
Quote's had a model since the 3DS release of the game. The entire game is recreated with models instead of sprites.
The thing is that it wasn't put into massive production and isn't available on the eShop for some reason. So many people have never before seen Quote's official 3D model before.
+It would help promote the new installment coming in June for the 3DS
Why is this the first I've heard of this, I am elated.
Why is this the first I've heard of this, I am elated.
Because there hasn't been any confirmation that it is coming to the west, yet.

Pretty sure the model used in CS3D is more stylized than that, with significantly lower res textures.
I honestly would love to see Shantae or Shovel Knight as DLC
Pretty sure the model used in CS3D is more stylized than that, with significantly lower res textures.
Yeah, it's not the same at all. The model in CS3D is based off of Quote's spritework whereas this is based off of Quote's artwork.
The picture in question, since it was a little late last page:

The logo on the back of the hat is a nice touch.
Words cannot express how happy I would be if Quote got in. Especially if he had a Curly Brace alt. Cave Story is literally my favorite game of all time.
What if they made an "Indie Triple Fighter Pack" with Quote, Shantae, and Shovel Knight?
That would be so amazing.
Half-genie girl that lives in a lighthouse, is the guardian of Scuttle Town (her hometown), having to defend it against Risky Boots (a pirate) and crazy monsters, is adopted by an uncle named Mimic (relic hunter), and is friends with Bolo (some dude who gives hints and presumably has a crush on her), Sky (war bird trainer), and Rottytops (zombie).
Oh yeah, and she can transform into a monkey, elephant, or a mermaid by doing bellydances.
VOTE FOR SHANTAE TODAY
Speaking of characters that would be cool in Smash Bros. :v:
[sp]Except unlike Microsoft, Sony has a handheld and a Smash "competitor" that probably won't get a sequel.[/sp]
[editline]3rd April 2015[/editline]
Seriously though I'd like Shantae to make it in.
What if they made an "Indie Fighter Pack" with Quote, Shantae, and Shovel Knight?
Would probably be one of the best outcomes if they delve into indie game characters, imo, as I don't feel any other indie character comes close to being as viable as those three and they quite fit.

If we were allowed to pick any character ever, and if there was no issue with the owner(s) of the characters, I'd definitely vote for Vibri.
But that's not the case, so I'm picking the most reasonable option that'd I'd be happy with: Shantae. :v:
Edit: To be honest, even if Shantae doesn't make it in, there are so many awesome candidates that, at most, I'd feel a bit sad. (Assuming that there is literally no chance that the winner could, in any, be either bland or someone I don't really care about, and I'm optimistic enough to think that's the case)
If it weren't totally unrealistic and optimistic to vote for this one character, the character was allowed to be used in SSB4 even though he has nothing to do with Nintendo other than the fact that he's in a game, SSB4 allowed multiple unique sets of special moves like Zelda/Sheik and Pokemon Trainer in Brawl (3 sets of Neutral B and Side B moves, everything else mostly the same), this character wouldn't easily end up being overpowered, there would be more than one voted character that'll get in, and there wasn't a chance that I would be ridiculed for being overly optimistic and stupid about third party characters:
I'd vote for fucking Malcolm from Unreal Tournament, just because that game is currently one of my only absolutely favorites along with this game series.
I thought it would be neat to see Rayman/Quote/Crash/Banjo/Shantee/Simon/Whatever Nintendo-related character due to their moveset potential and other people being fans of these series, but while I do have an interest for those characters and franchises, but I'm not as a fan for those series as I am for the Unreal series. I already kinda came up with a moveset in my head that involves some of the weapons from the game like the Impact Hammer for the forward smash attack and maybe the Dair attack, the Flak Cannon, Rocket Launcher, and Shock Rifle used for the alternative neutral and side B attacks, and the Translocator for the recovery move, so it may hypothetically work.
Honestly, it's fucking awesome to imagine Samus's charge shot blow up in her face from Malcom's shock rifle combo regardless of how annoying it may get in reality.
But you know what, it's never going to officially happen, because Malcolm's a PC and FPS character with no relations to Nintendo, and because of that it makes me wish that I was also a huge fan of one of these Nintendo-related series so that I'd have chance at semi-realistically voting for a character that I also really want in Smash.
Something I'd like to question is the deadline for including votes. It says it ends in October this year, so does that mean we won't get any reveals from this ballot until the poll officially closes? Or will they take ideas from the poll multiple times?
The DLC Mii costumes do look pretty neat, but I'm somewhat disappointed that they don't appear to be colorable even though it makes sense that it's that way.
Still, they look decently made, and there's gotta be some use for some of the items, probably for a parody of some character like Donkey Kong with that Monkey suit.
I feel like if there was going to be an indie it would have to be Quote. Cave Story is arguably the most important indie game (Minecraft isn't really an indie game anymore) and has a ton of Nintendo ports.
Oh god, I just thought of everyone voting for Steve.
oh man so much time put into practicing Project M and i think i'm finally starting to get the hang of it.
i won my first match at a local tourney last night (bringing me up from my previous record of 0-2) which gave me a huge burst of confidence and i'm pulling off advanced techs actually quite easily right from the get-go (wavedashing is still a bitch tho). my l-cancelling is at about 80% on average, i'm starting to consistently shffl, and my chaingrabs + dash dancing are on point.
right now i'm attempting to get consistent with DACUS which helps a lot for a snake main, but it's real tough atm. i rebound the R trigger to attack to make it a bit easier because having to hit Z while performing that whole movement is hell on my index finger.

I wonder how many people in this thread know what DACUS and shffl are.
Tell us, oh competitive smash master Zekrom3112
Alright, I did what I said I was gonna do.
Voted for Paper Mario, and left a really kickin' explanation. My compelling writing prowess knows no bounds.
My other choices were Bandana Waddle Dee, Jimmy T., or a lone Popo/Nana alt. Everything else I wanted MAY have been stretching it.
in a PM pools match today the wii froze mid match and my opponent asked me to restart the game with the same exact stocks and %. as soon as we did that he was just like "OK GO" really quickly and f-smashed me and took a stock, then i immediately side B'd by accident and SD'd. i really fuckin thought i was gonna make it out of pools this time but i lost all my momentum after that match and ended up choking the next game.
later on the same guy came and joined in on some melee friendlies and wouldn't stop complaining about how roy sucks in melee compared to PM. after playing a match with the other guy i was playing with and bragging about how he "won even though he doesn't even play this game" he just starts another match immediately with the same guy as if i'm not there.
Suddenly I feel like I'm alone in voting for Rayman.
Mark my words, we're only getting Dixie Kong and a single ice climber out of this
What if they made an "Indie Triple Fighter Pack" with Quote, Shantae, and Shovel Knight?

Shovel and Quote would make great Mii Fighter outfits, Shantae would be impossible tho
If they reveal the actual list of popular suggestions they have gotten, then that's enough for me.
I voted for Shovel Knight.
He has a pretty nice moveset already with his Shovel and Relics.
For example:
SideB: Flare Wand / Alchemy Coin / Chaos Sphere / Throwing Anchor
UpB: Propeller Dagger
DownB: War Horn / Mobile Gear
And he could use his fishing rod like Link uses his hookshot, to grab enemies and grab the side of the stage to recover and stuff like that.
[sp]His final smash could be him rummaging through a chest and throwing jewels everywhere that do damage.[/sp]
