Nobody wants to play against you if you do that. Nobody likes Sonic mains that rely exclusively on the free and cheap stuff. You are creating a huge amount of infamy for your chosen character by continuing to do so, most of it being undeserved, as the character himself can be much more interesting than many actually play him. He is a mixup character you are choosing not to mix up at all, and that in itself is frustrating.

Just about all of my characters I basically try to rush them with all sorts of attacks (although often Smashes) unless I know to play defensively and stay away from the opponent for certain reasons (their character counters my own, Little Mac with a star punch, they've got certain items, damage percentage, etc). Infact that's probably why I suck at the game pretty hard, I play AI more than I do other players.

I have a feeling that each player has their own separate blast zones that scale based on how well you play, meaning the worse you play the further away they are, and the better you play the closer they are Reason I say this is last match I played against a Shulk as Mega Man and I was wiping the floor with him. I sent him flying multiple times from the edge of the stage when he was at 90%+ and he kept coming back, and then he managed to land a forward smash that K.O.'d me before I was at 60%. Cue "I'm really FEELING it!". It was just so frustrating when this Shulk (who wasn't even using his Monado Arts) spent an eternity off-camera and comes back multiple times, and I spend half a second off-screen and I lose a stock Anyone else experience this?

A counter-spamming Shulk is one of the stupidest things I've ever played against And out of 3 opponents so far, 2 of them were counter-spamming shulks that barely use the monado arts. Did I miss something at Apex?
