Poor Chillin, he looked absolutely devastated.

No, if the match gets laggy, people suiciding to spectate won't help since all the consoles connected still have to constantly exchange information about the match.

So I've decided to pick up Meta Knight as my 3rd main and I need some tips on how to play him efficiently.

Jesus fucking christ, Leffen's twitter right now.
"I feel really really bad for all the people who were stupid enough to bet on @LiquidChillin. He was even worse than I though LOL"
"With that said, back to being a has-been you go.
Take that cringey ass diss track on the way out, and don't you ever touch my color again."

I hope Mang0 fucks this guy up
Reminder that there is a difference between trash talk (FGC stuff, all in good fun) and being a cocky shit.
Leffen is currently being a cocky shit who needs to get his shit pushed in by Mang0.

Leffen has to beat M2K to play Mango. He won't beat M2K.

It's kinda up in the air, because apparently M2K hasn't been playing much Melee and was focusing more on Smash 4 instead.
That said, Leffen would be a great villain if competitive Melee was an anime or something.

Apologies if this is a bit long, but this should be all you need to know for the most part.
Try to use his aerials to follow up grabs and smashes as much as possible, generally using the nair, fair, and bair. The nair can be used to immediately follow up the down throw I believe, so it'll help you accumulate damage on the opponent.
fair and bair can be used on opponents off the stage to assure a kill. You won't necessarily be able to ko them directly, but its launch is enough to force a fall off the stage, and it comes out quick enough to be hard to avoid.
Avoid using the jab combo pretty much at all times, unless you know with 110% certainty that you will hit them. Unlike Brawl where his neutral a was just general spam in all directions, you are left quite defenseless in the rear. You can literally accidentally press a once and be stuck for a full second while you cycle through the jab combo animations, setting yourself up for a heavy punish. Basically stick to tilts, down smashes and grabs while you're in the middle of the stage.
Metaknight really only has 4 sure kill attacks, and they are all pretty situational.
The shuttle loop can be used on edge-guarding opponents if timed right, or can be used for a surprise ko from below or in the middle of an air-combo.
The down-b teleportation move if held ends with a powerful strike wherever you teleport, so its good for catching an opponent off guard when they're setting up a charged smash on the ground or reversing the tides on an opponent who's juggling you. When the teleport isn't held you can also use it for combo escapes, as you have a quicker recovery time compared to when you hold it down.
The forward smash has high launching power, but it has a highly noticable tell, along with about a half second delay, so most opponents will be able to avoid it under normal circumstances. It can be used however as an effective edge guarding tool, as the range is actually pretty decent, and a lot of people wouldn't anticipate it. If you're good at mind games, it's also useful for punishing counter spammers.
The weakest move that still has ko potential would be the up smash. Personally I don't recommend using it much, as the launching power is considerably weaker and the upwards angle doesn't lend itself well to meta knights air game. The hit box is also pretty focused, so you won't hit opponents to either side of you with it, unless they are quite large, or you slide into the up smash.
Metaknight's neutral b can deal heavy amounts of damage if you are close to the opponent at startup and you rapidly tap b while they are caught. It can also be used to wear down the opponents shield, so try it out if the guy you're fighting likes to dodge behind you all the time.
Final tip is to just practice finding the sweet spots on metaknights b moves and practice moving about the stage without SDing while using them. Meta knights b moves all put him in free fall with a period of ledge grab failure after coming out of it, so watch out for the edges of the stage.
Again apologies for the massive info dump.
A big, helpful post is always better than answering "How do I ____?" with "Don't."

No need to apologize. The bigger the post, the more info.
A Lot of this I pretty much already knew, like the free falls and dimensional cape kill, and more-less just confirmed that I am playing him correctly.
I did get some new info from your post though, and I'll just have to practice more with MK and some of that offstage game you mentioned. I'm VERY hesitant with all characters, except ROB, to try and go for some off stage gimping/fighting.
it's so weird. back when we only had the 3ds version i would do so much offstage gimping but the moment i started playing on the wii u i just stopped going for it a lot

Yeah the context that you're missing is that Leffen has a very long history of being a huge dick for no reason. People like him are what tear a community apart.
God fuckin damnit chillin

Wow yeah I'm reading up on Leffen and jeez. How can someone actually be unironically sucking their own dick for being good at a fucking video game lmao
One of my friends was talking about smash and he mentioned "what if you could tech the screen splat KO" like your character kicks off the screen and jumps back to the fighting plane or something.
I can't decide if that's the stupidest thing or if it would be the coolest thing. (I mean, your % doesn't reset till you slide off the screen and all)

It would be the Smash equivalent of Mac's second wind in Punch-Out Wii.
So the hypest fucking thing ever.

Also, we still got that Twitch chat open?
If so, TheRealKrupinsk, shoot me an invite, please?

It'd be cool the first few times but the splat KOs aren't guaranteed to occur and would be frustrating if my opponent got one when I didn't if we were both hit in the air.
Watching double grand finals in crowd.

Watching Apex streams has really improved my Mega Man.
It used to be I'd be constantly Top-Spinning all over, getting right in the opponent's face.
Now it's Metal Blades, Crash Bombs, and the occasional Leaf Shield all over the place before I swoose in for the kill. Just had a Mario (of all things) ragequit on me.
Anyone else here play Mega Man? Up Smash into an Up Air juggle is just Dedede's F-Smash levels of feel good.
