Every single time I see any Melee play at conventions or in videos posted here, it's Fox, Falco, and Marth in N64 Green Greens. I've never seen anything else. It's kinda incredibly boring to watch.
That's the meta for you. Enjoying comp Melee requires a certain appreciation for the difficulty to perform well in it, like any other game or sport.
Go watch Darkrain play Falcon, or Axe play Pikachu. I'll admit fox dittos between two random players are usually snoozefests but there are tons of incredible sets on YouTube.
Probably won't happen, but a great way for them to fill the villans quota for the next game would be to declone Ganondorf, have Mewtwo from the start, keep Bowser and Bowser Jr., and add Ridley (not the Metroid Prime or Other M Ridleys that everyone uses for the too-big argument, but one based off of Super Metroid's Artwork for proportions, he wouldn't be that big proportionately compared to Bowser and would only be slightly larger than Charizard, but with significantly smaller wings.) and King K Rool. Other villains, such as Captain Syrup, Dark Matter and Kamek, would be nice bonuses, but probably won't occur and aren't quite as essential.
Wolf I don't consider a true villan, though I definitetly want him to return; instead, I consider him more of an anti-hero if anything, much like Meta-Knight and Wario. (DeDeDe, if anything, is an anti-villan)
Nah, Ridley needs to have more modern proportions, as in larger wings and smaller head. And the humanlike legs on something with birdlike feet feel very off to somebody who has been looking at skeletons for quite a few years.

Also, Prime 3 was able to make Ridley feel like something to fight one on one with Samus, rather than a giant boss.
The guy has bird legs and neck, but the upper torso is more apelike, and thus the general posture also is (horizontal femora, arms longer than the legs and reaching the ground). Have Samus reach up to his collarbone rather than his midchest in that position, and the size awkwardness is gone. And please no giant head or lack of a metatarsus.
Also, I'd argue against Ganondorf being decloned. The thing is, the moveset is a Smash original, it was significantly altered since Melee recycled animations, and by now, that has appeared in 3 games. It is how Ganondorf plays in Smash. A heavy physical moveset. And after hearing Sakurai's arguments for his Brawl moveset, no, I wouldn't change that. The custom moves are already great for the separation.
Wolf was an unique character that paralleled Fox in his specials. Lucas had specials similar to Ness', and a quite different A moveset, but very similar physics that masked the differences.
They should be back. I still think that Lucas would make a good Ness alternate if he couldn't be made a separate character, tho.
And Daisy should be made a Peach alternate, complete with hairstyle, voiceclips, effects (daisies instead of hearts and peaches), and Toadette instead of Toad (maybe).

Fuck Daisy keep her as far away from Smash as possible
She was a Peach recolor, and the Daisy Peach palette is treated as if she was Daisy anyway, so yeah.
Also you wouldn't be forced to use her. Seriously, not wanting an alternate costume just because a personal dislike is not that justified, these are the kind of thing you either like or are indifferent about.

Flyingman356 wrecking me
I wish there were more Samus players that didn't spam projectiles, roll, and grab.
Like this one time I faced a Samus that knew how to combo hard, he was really fun to fight.
Samus is a floaty but heavy character who has 2 good projectiles and a mediocre one. Still, Super Missiles are a good approach tool, and the Charge Beam is a good killmove. No need to spam those and one of the less optimal rolls in the game.
Also, speaking of the size issues, this is my final word on the subject.
i didn't notice it the first time

@ 8:22 when eikelmann probably realized that it was going to be a 3-0, he removed the KAGE tag and as soon as he did it, bizzarro put a hand on his back as if he was trying to see if it was all okay.
such a good sportmanship from bizz

bizz is probably my favorite smasher tbh. So much style but yet so much respect

It seems "Brutus Pootis" was able to do this before you.

I am not sure if he is the only one to do this though, or if somehow this is a different model.

It might be the 3ds version, look at ashley's hand, it's very low poly.
Ashley by Gamidame_K with credit to Ashley and Red for ripping the model and textures
Or... this may have been made with a previous version of the wiiu models, ones without rigs because the ones that showed up today are rigged.
[editline]7th February 2015[/editline]
Okay I compared them, it's probably the 3ds version of the model or just a bad rip, it has less geometry and less bones.

What are some characters that support a hyper-aggressive playstyle?
What are some characters that support a hyper-aggressive playstyle?
I play Mario, Yoshi and Lucario and I say that they are pretty damn aggressive. Try them out sometime.
What are some characters that support a hyper-aggressive playstyle?
Sheik, Diddy, Mario, Luigi, Captain Falcon, Meta Knight, Greninja, Toon Link, Bowser Jr and probably more I'm thinking about

Captain Falcon is also pretty good for aggressive players. Fox too, though he takes more practice.
[editline]t[/editline]
Also, interestingly, I'd recommend trying Pit. His normals all come out quite quickly and have good range/damage, and he has good defensive/counteroffensive options to fall back on.
Plus he has multijumps and (IIRC) one of the longest range recoveries in the game, so he can chase and gimp more fearlessly, and is more forgiving if you get hit offstage a lot.

Diddy Kong, which is likely why he's top tier.
