This is looking pretty good, still stuff like not selecting him looks suspicious though. In all honesty it is looking to be real. Makes sense as well if they're releasing it with Mewtwo, as its been quite a long time to develop 1 character. Maybe it's a thing where he can't be selected until the DLC is out?

That way they don't have to deal with the complications of pricing when people buy the figures with or without the DLC on their systems, as well as bringing the Amiibo to a friend's system. And I don't expect people to be able to create a customized fighter with a DLC character, transfer it to their 3DS that has the DLC as well, and then attempt to transfer that customized fighter to a WiiU that doesn't have the DLC. I'd expect it to just bar them from doing that. Again, because pricing it would be confusing or unfair.

Players shouldn't need to invest in an Amiibo (which are hard enough to come by for specific characters) and either a New3DS or an Amiibo reader just to access DLC content. And by that same token, the price shouldn't be increased on the Amiibos to correspond to the price of the DLC and figure combined. Not even if what happened would be the first system you use the Amiibo on (if it already had the DLC) would submit the excess funds into their eShop account as a pseudo giftcard. That'd still be unfair to consumers who just want the Amiibo but don't want extra eShop funds, they want to have that money in their pocket for other things. What's likely to happen is that the Amiibo is just going to be unplayable FP. You can play as them when you buy the DLC separately. Simplify things so consumers don't get caught in some confusing mess where stocks are limited on physical products but stocks are non-existent on the downloadable content.

For them it'd be a relatively safe move.
