well i just learned what melee hell is. certainly lives up to its name
will there perhaps be an option for a transparent background on export in the future?
There is. And on that note, I got doing alts down to a way, and I need to figure out a better way to show the whole loaded ones. [t]http://i.imgur.com/H52ewXi.png[/t]
It takes more than speedy fingers to win in Post-Melee games, and I personally think it's better. Lets more people get in and actually have a chance at all at ranking well.
While I wouldn't mind if the Smash games kept it simple tech-wise (even though L-cancelling is 100% intentionally developed and was actually nerfed for Melee, many in the Melee community do feel that it wouldn't be much of a loss to never have return in a future game), what I enjoyed about 64 and Melee that I can't appreciate the lack of in Brawl and Smash 4 is that most moves in the first two games are able to link into other moves in a way that is satisfying to pull off. With Brawl and Smash 4, very few moves are capable of going into each other and the ones that do are spammed to hell because they usually link into themselves without effort (i.e. Mario's Sm4sh up tilt, Diddy's Sm4sh up air, Meta-Knight's Brawl up air, etc.). Gameplay-wise, 64 is my favorite specifically because of the amount of moves that link into each other, resulting in very fluid-feeling gameplay.
I'm still curious if they will change some of mewtwo's moves, for example his side and down special, they really weren't all that great, in my eyes at least.
Late on this, but I'd love to see Confusion changed to where instead of harmlessly reflecting projectiles, it doubles their power but cuts their speed by half or more. Being able to turn a charge shot or aura sphere into a slow barrier for approach or a powerful ricochet object in a combo would be amazing.
Lay some mad Villager tips on me, thread. Youtube videos are nice for learning combos, but they don't always hack it. I need to up my game with my main.
I've had the craziest shit happen to me in Crazy Orders today- one of them being a Dr. Mario reflecting a thrown HRB POINT-BLANK into my face, and another being a Shulk countering a Home-Run swing. Perhaps the game is telling me to stop grinding.
There is.
Ah, must have missed that then. Anyways I like it so far, I can't wait until the Alts are added:
I really wish I could enjoy the new Smash Bros more, but no one in my family wants to play with me and my brother is constantly on netflix so I can never have a lagless online game. This Smash Brothers really does suck if you're alone.
I love how Wario is pretty much a hard counter to Samus and other projectile-heavy characters. (Aside from Duck Hunt, but I suck against him with pretty much anyone.) I was having trouble with a really good Samus in FG today, but as soon as I switched to Wario I think I 2-stocked him twice and he left. The combination of his ability to eat a vast majority of the projectiles in the game and the fact that his bike absorbs the rest means that the matchup is very much in his favor.

It's how I've done it all my life, I never had friends over much growing up and by the time I did I was about 18 and none of my friends played Smash or video games really. The games is fun enough alone.
I'm kinda in that awkward limbo of being better than AI and most of my offline friends, but still being shite against most everyone who adds me online. I don't feel like I'm improving from either consistently cleaning up or getting my ass beat. How the heck do you get past this point? I don't remember how I did it in Melee.
I loved the shit out of Melee. I wasted my childhood on the game, but still, I have some things to say about it today and how it compares to future games like Sm4sh. Bias may occur, so call me out on it if you want. IMO fun gameplay is more important to a game like Smash than its watchability for a large tourney audience. The games are, far as I can tell, meant to be accessible with simple playability through concise inputs instead of advanced techs (read: often likely unintended, largely abused exploits) like WaveDashing , chain grabbing and L-canceling. You are meant to deal with dodging and move lag, not circumvent them.
Man for someone who doesn't like competitive melee, you sure do fucking talk about it a lot. We get it, you don't like advanced techniques because you're too lazy to learn the game. People use every last tool they're given because that's more fun to them and helps them develop a higher level of skill. The only real issue melee has is its unbalanced roster, but that's been an issue in literally every mid 2000s and younger fighting game ever. It's only a highly visible issue because melee's one of the very few games from that era which people still play today. Saying that they're not playing the game the way they're supposed to is as dumb as calling a speedrun illegitimate because they use glitches to go faster. Saying that they just win because they have "speedy fingers" is one of the most stupid fucking things I have ever heard.
Smash 4 is leagues above Brawl in terms of technical variety, but still behind Melee. All in all, the skill ceiling of the game is only has high as how dedicated the players are in the end. You could develop of competitive scene of Hungry Hungry Hippos if you had a dedicated enough player base.
any tips for fighting Rosalina as Megaman? the only thing u have working for me is metal blades going through Luma to hit Rosalina and crash bombs exploding on the luma on contact and also damaging rosalina. as far as I can tell, even without luma, Rosalinas up close game is better than mega mans, but she can just neutralize all my projectiles anyway. not to mention there's only like 10 seconds or so before another Luma spawns to just eat up everything I throw at her. it's ridiculous.
Spam Lemons.

All at once would be fine, preferably if you could retain the names so I don't have to rename each one.

I guess it is not as much of a problem in Japan where social aspects of a game like Pokemon trading are more widely enjoyed and used. Unrelated: I really hope that the job posting about a Smash 6 coming this year was a fake or a mistake (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Smash_Bros.#Future) because one of the things that made Smash special is that it did not come out every year like Call of Duty, it took years and years to produce and as such it was very well polished and very well presented.

Smash only comes out once each console generation, or in this case twice but they're essentially the same game.
