That's a bad thing?
A major part of Melee's comp is knowing your opponent and the character they're playing. This is why amsa (a fairly new player) was able to beat M2K with fucking Yoshi of all character, mainly because Yoshi had never really been considered for their play style and amsa's playstyle was incredibly archaic, completely throwing M2K off his game. While simpler mind games would make the game easier for everyone, it is one of the major skills required in the intensity of competitive Melee.
So like Smash 4 Project M?
A utopia for all.

I think I'll quit now, sorry for the trouble.
I guess it comes down to if you enjoy a harsh game or a soft game. I can't fault someone for not enjoying something that other people do. It really does come down to preferences. I will say it is elitest to say "Melee takes more skill, ergo it is better".
Yeah takes more skill doesn't automatically mean its the best game, that's down to preference I think the original discussion sparked off because you said Melee was basically just a load of exploits and about 5 characters worth playing, which is all kinds of wrong, I hope you realise the difference now (even if GnW is terrible in Melee I will always main him)
is it just me or does Link have huuuuuge priority in his attacks?
omg these scrubs on FG using the same character every single fight I mean it's funny because since I play 10+ characters if I lose I just switch to one that can beat their Samus or Ness that they used like 10 times in a row It's an awesome advantage except for the fact that I'm not stellar with any one character to the point of winning reliably. I'm just like a bag of shiny keys and eventually I'll get the lock open. And once I do they just leave.
If smash 4 was as fast as melee but no exploits, it'd be even better than it already is.
As long as they added a way to replace the functions of wavedashing and dash dancing for zoning purposes
Perfect pivoting can help a bit
Perfect pivoting can help a bit
I did find that kind of fun actually, I use tap jump all the time so it meant my left thumb was going insane
I'm trying to learn how to Perfect Pivot, but I'm having a really hard time with the pro controller. Is it easier with something wired like the GC controller?
I'm trying to learn how to Perfect Pivot, but I'm having a really hard time with the pro controller. Is it easier with something wired like the GC controller?
having used both not really, I'd say it's just down to learning the timing
Is the netcode for the WiiU version any better than the 3DS version? Anyone else get mysterious lag spikes whenever they're winning, followed by inputs failing and fucking up until a sure win turns into a definite loss?
[t]http://i.imgur.com/XqAKoLD.png[/t] I got this guys.
I don't find Perfect Pivoting to be too useful mostly because of how tedious it is to pull off and how little it makes an impact. It's like a harder to use wavedash with less pay off, aka not worth it.

This is gonna be a cross-post from the STGYH thread, but I got 4th place at my local college's Smash 4 Tourney as Wii Fit Trainer! I also got a $5 dollar gift card to Gamestop as a prize.

So I gave my friend Smashup to try and break stuff, and he made this... [t]http://i.imgur.com/egDbomN.png[/t] And then he managed to do something I never assumed someone would do, which is throw a character outside the area you can see in the Canvas so to counter that I added a button to clear the canvas.
So like Smash 4 Project M?
Unfortunately, not only is the Project M team not interested in pursuing modding of the Wii U for multiple reasons (mostly fear of stepping too much on Nintendo's toes), but due to the lack of exploitable workarounds in the Wii U version, it'd probably take less effort to rebuild the game entirely from scratch than mod it to the same extent as Brawl was, especially since Nintendo is completely capable of removing any current exploits through patches.

PM already has a lot of unique characters/unique takes on previous characters. i doubt characters like ivysaur/squirtle/roy/snake/wolf/lucas will ever return to a smash game.

I absolutely love beating people as Peach on For Glory. Like Dedede, it seems that no one ever uses her, so no one is ever prepared. It's especially fantastic when I'm fighting someone who's been giving me a real problem or who's been acting like a dick (taunting after each KO, laming it out, etc.); they lose and the last thing they hear is "lalalalalaa-laa~" followed by "AWWW, did I WIIIIIN~?" [editline]25th February 2015[/editline] Alternatively, it makes me feel bad when I slamjam all over my friends with Peach and they get that victory screen. It's like, shit Peach, we're just playing for fun, stop being all sardonic like.
I got 20XX to level 50 already. [t]http://i.imgur.com/fU63gw9.png[/t]
So THAT's what that screen looks like on the 3DS.
Nintendo where's the peripheral already, i shelled out for a handful of your toys and I wanna actually use em cmon
This seems like it goes here

Every time I try to touch Megaman, I just look look at how his up air animates like it should be a juggling move yet notice it poorly links from anything. Little Mac would also work really well in the Melee environment, especially if they made him more true to the Punch Out!! games.
