me 'n afromana were talking last night and couldn't figure out if there's a proper screencap key yet. There's a screencaps folder for bf4 in your documents but no keybinding, though we did find a ~console command
I actually just talked to someone on eahelp chat about this. The first thing he said was 'On your keyboard you have a printscreen key...' I was just about to lose it there. He said eventually, as you mentioned, in the console commands type screenshot.render and it will place it in your documents>battlefield 4> screenshots folder. He mentioned he will pass this problem on. Whether he will or not remains to be seen.
It seems a bit odd that there isn't a screenshot button, you'd think they'd want people to "share their battlefield moments", free marketing.
It seems a bit odd that there isn't a screenshot button, you'd think they'd want people to "share their battlefield moments", free marketing.
they DO want you to share the moments in the form of cool music-accompanied videos I've got a new graphics card on order that'll have the shadowplay functionality so I may actually take to recording stuff again. Haven't done that since trackmania 2 and its in-game renderer
It seems a bit odd that there isn't a screenshot button, you'd think they'd want people to "share their battlefield moments", free marketing.
Or a COD like recorder that records everything in a game, people would be able to show so many cool moments that it would compel even 40 year old housewives to buy the game.
so u cant use a shorty 12g in water well shit great sidearm, though it sucks that sometimes it goes full retard and deals 12 hp where you shoot someone in the chest

Nvidia 600 and up series cards have a dedicated video encoder that can keep up to the past 20 minutes of footage recorded live without bogging down your gameplay quality like running a third party program does. Just hit a hotkey and it saves down the file
I spent waaaaay too much time on this

Rigging up my PVR to record footage from my PC right now, maybe I'll catch something interesting, or waste a few TB.
Yeah in order to capture awesome moments that just sorta happen you'd have to be of the type to constantly record, and because shadowplay's videos still take up space, you won't want to.
it keeps a certain time amount you predetermine temporarily saved, overwriting old bits of it as it goes. I probably wouldn't set the scratchdisk past 3-5 minutes at most, likely keeping it at 2 or something in case there's a weird coincidental string of cool things that comes around and becomes awesome a little bit later. It only saves the clips you tell it to, and you can delete them once you get the snippets you need.
i really want to get better at using vehicles. any tips? i've always played infantry and sniped or did assault
i really want to get better at using vehicles. any tips? i've always played infantry and sniped or did assault
ditz around in the test range to figure out controls. That's my favorite thing, you can figure out how things work and what you'd like to rebind in an environment without fear of penalty, instead of crashing all the jets in a real round and not only being a useless dipwag but also preventing others from utilizing them also it wasn't until that (stupid) 'bug' video regarding snipers' accuracy (when firing haphazardly fast) that I found out about the ammo bag on the table by the target range. max ammo for everything, including 100 C4 satchels (though you can only have 3 planted at a time) have a blast
omg patch tomorrow gonna fix crashes supposedly. FUCKING YES. IM GONNA PLAY THIS GAME AGAIN.

So after Amazon being a whore and taking 12 days to receive and process my book trade in, I finally got my Amazon gift card today and bought BF4! Now to finish a boring Strategic Management presentation while it downloads over the next 3 hours. Nevermind
Screw the crashes, they're going to fix the "netcode". Crossed fingers for no more 1hitkill corner deaths.
Alright, so you can do a triple missile (and probably really, infinite) wombo combo, just shoot one direction angled up so that it doesn't hit things (while aiming down sights, of course), and then shoot a missile in the other direction (this will make sure the first one doesn't disappear because it hit the map boundary as it will turn around and towards where this 2nd missile is going), and then you can repeat this for forever, maybe, or fire your last missile and get a triple hit. [editline]13th November 2013[/editline] Yeah alright, so it takes 4 SRAWS to kill a tank, and it takes 10 seconds to set up and attack with a triple wombo combo, meaning that you need only shoot one final time in order to kill a tank, and therefore, any vehicle ever.
I really hope they add more emblem parts in the future, there are some really obvious missing things that need to be in there, like right-angled triangles, or half circles.
Presumably this will be so amazingly useful against those tank boats it isn't even funny, they won't be able to run away or repair themselves because they'll be dead before they even know it. [editline]13th November 2013[/editline] Okay so, you can't do a quadruple wombo combo because the missile explodes automatically over time, presumably. Still, triple wombo combo is great, with a wombo combo and then another shot, you can kill a tank boat in 12 seconds. Plus, if the vehicle is stationary, you can begin reloading before the wombo combo hits to speed up your time.

The hit from a triple could be enough to catch it on fire and stop them in their tracks if they had full health. I wonder if the damage indicator shows the direction the missile hit from, or the person who fired it... could fire a shot off to the left or way over a tank then aim, letting it curve around and smack it from the back. Could be a good diversion tactic, or if the SRAW's damage is boosted by side/back hits you could aim for the right places with a good curveball

Could be a good diversion tactic
They don't get disabled based on HP. It's now based on where and how the rocket (or tank shell) hits the vehicle. If you hit a vehicle perpendicular from the side you'll do something like 35% damage and cause a mobility hit. If you hit it square in the rear, then you'll do 50% damage and it'll be disabled, usually long enough for you to follow up with another 50% shot and outright kill it. Different launchers do different levels of damage, but I think all of them except the MBT LAW can still score criticals the same way regardless of damage. Angle is extremely important in BF4, so always try to hit perpendicular to the armor for max damage.
What in the world? Okay so sometimes sraws don't even fucking care about what they're being pointed at and will do a back flip away and smash into the ground, seemingly from the direction it was coming from. [editline]13th November 2013[/editline] Also you can quick scope with the SRAW, just press right click and spam left click and reload and you'll shoot as fast as possible.
I love my emblem: [editline]13th November 2013[/editline] It looks even better when smaller in game.
Poop, you can't kill a tank with a wombo combo + 1 shot, it brings it down to 9 hp, which will eventually kill it, but not quite.

Is anyone else running with SLI GTX cards with surround? Whenever I go into 5760x1080 mode the game just freezes my system and flickers every minute or so. Dual 660ti's
