Yeah, I really need to unlock the TOW. The IFV cannon is so good against infantry that you don't even need the coaxial.
You can 1v1 fine with APC vs tank if you angle it and make sure to fire all TOWs as fast as possible, as well as make sure they hit in a 90deg angle in side or rear. Or top, for that matter, seeing as vehicles have a top hitbox now as well.
TOW 2 hits the tank... Go from behind, hit him once with TOW and fire couple of normal shots into this rear... He is dead in no time. Some people think "OH look, a LAV... Let's charge it and 3 shot him with my slow main cannon"... biggest mistake ever, TOW missle reload so fast, that in the time he shots me once with main cannon, I hit him twice with TOW. Also MAA is amazing, I have a lot of fun with it. It fires alot more bullets this time, compared to bf3. I just hope the range of MAA is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY bigger on other maps, so we can rain hell on flying shitbuckets.
Actually, I did unlock them last match when I went on a 18 killstreak with the IFV. :v:
Apparently the Battlepacks aren't as terrible as previously believed. You can still work towards weapon-specific unlocks:
Apparently the Battlepacks aren't as terrible as previously believed. You can still work towards weapon-specific unlocks:
How does that work?
Oh come on guys this doesn't deserve nearly as many dumbs as that. BF4 is realllyyyyyyy reallyyyyy similar to BF3. It's actually a bit frightening how similar the two games are, and the Capitalism comment is more or less spot on. We paid $60 for an entirely new engine, new mechanics, etc, and now we're paying the same price for essentially the same thing with new maps because they know we will. It's an expansion pack + rebalance patch for $60. Also you have to rebuy premium. What the guy above has said holds weight with me until I figure out just how much content BF4 has.
Thanks man, notice how the people who rated me dumb didnt even bother to answer with a rational argument to counter mine. I'd also like to point out that the more you buy the game, the more they'll keep going in the money grabbing path, yesterday it was MAP+Weapons+Vechicles= DLC, today it's DLCs and micro transactions, tomorrow it will be map packs, over priced DLCs, more microtransaction, they'll try to sell every feature and they'll release the same game every year and next time they wont even bother making it look like something different.

Bad tank drivers aside, the LAV will lose in 1 v 1 situation.
Well yeah if you forget to angle your APC of course the tank is going to win. Trick in bf is to give yourself a situational advantage before going in 1v1.
I've only played an hour or so on the Beta but it's amazing - saying that I won't be buying it on release, I'm not prepared to spend that much. One thing I'm really starting to hate about this Battlefield series though is the DLC aspect. For Example "Hey look we're making a game and it's coming out on the 29th but we've already got some extra stuff for you to buy on top pf the £40 we're making you spend in the first place." I hate the way they are scheduling DLC to come out almost the same time as release. Why not just release the damn DLC as part of the game? Fucking money whores.. [editline]14th October 2013[/editline] In all honesty BF4 just feels like an update to BF3 rather than a new game - the new features are great it just doesn't seem that great a leap.
It's funny that people are complaining that BF4 isn't enough of a change. When BF3 came out people were complaining that they changed too much.
Well yeah if you forget to angle your APC of course the tank is going to win. Only bad tankers sit stationary in the middle of the road and take a pummeling and even worse drivers get flanked. In the technical sense of the word, the second you give the LAV an advantage that the tank can't have then it's not 1 v 1, if you are able to flank the tank when he's actively fighting you then that counts and it's great, but that's a bad driver. I'm being pedantic though so ignore me.
It's funny that people are complaining that BF4 isn't enough of a change. When BF3 came out people were complaining that they changed too much.
Apples and Oranges. BF3 comments were aimed at that it was different from 2; in that it felt like a offshoot IP (i.e. Bad Company.) if BF4 was called Bottle Front 2 or something then the comments about not enough change hold more weight.

"The weapons have firing patterns and don't fire in a cone, CoD ripoff", "Not enough focus on vehicles, Battlefield is about tanks!" That sort of thing, and we all know how whiny pilots nerfed all AA into worthlessness. Not that that invalidates criticisms of BF4 being very similar to BF3. I just thought it was funny.
Apparently the Battlepacks aren't as terrible as previously believed. You can still work towards weapon-specific unlocks:
This actually addresses and resolves my biggest fear with the Battlepack system. I was worried that if they had duplicate items in them, you would waste so many battlepacks getting the last couple items because they would be filled with stuff you already have. Thankfully that's not the way it's going to work. Battlepacks only contain new stuff. At least, that's the case with the weapon battlepacks. I hope that's how the regular ones work as well.
http://www.battlefield.com/battlefield-4/faq/battlepacks So after all killcount attachments are unlocked you start working towards battlepacks with the gun's battlepack attachment in it, or other guns' battlepack attachments if you've already unlocked all current gun's attachments. Nice little touch that removes all my concern in the battlepack system.
Something I noticed in the beta but no one else seems to be mentioning so maybe its just me But do field upgrades come in slowly for anyone else? Even as part of a squad near the top of the scoreboard I don't think I've ever hit max level and only reached the third tier a couple times.

They need to increase the points for team play. I don't get why a kill is worth 100 points + bonuses but you generally only get 20 points from support actions.

The whole idea is to promote squad gameplay and if you're all off doing your own thing it can take a while to build it up.

I rarely land squad leader and I never see attack/defend orders posted by whoever is.

Looks like i'm back into action with....slugs! Anyone else thinks that usig slugs on 870mcs is harder than in bf3? And does anyone can approve you can kill insta-kill if you make a headshot with slugs?
Someone just called me "Jizztastic Dong" after I killed them a bunch. I gotta say, thats a pretty good one. Props bro.
my main gripe is that the ACRW or the ak5 have been on every single class and its dumb that the classes can be muddled down to universe weapons.
Universal carbines & DMRs or Assault dominance In the world of DICE it's a choice
I don't understand field upgrades. Do squad leaders decide if it's offensive or defensive for the whole squad?
I don't understand field upgrades. Do squad leaders decide if it's offensive or defensive for the whole squad?
It's individual. You can pick them in your loadout. Each class has access to offensive/defensive and then some classes have their own sets of field upgrades you can choose. You earn field upgrades as a squad, but you choose which field upgrades you get.
The beta finally started to work for me, so I've been playing tonight. I was pretty tired so I sucked it up that round, but the results of my first full length, 64 player conquest game were not disappointing:
It carry over matches so you'll basically have unlimited time to get to the top field upgrade as long as one of your squad mates survives all the time.
Also if I remember correctly, if you are the last one alive, the bar goes to 0, for the duration of none being there. At least I remember, when I was alone and someone spawned back in, bar went from 0 progress to almost full, just half of the last bar was not filled.
This beta has actually convinced me to not buy the game at launch, which takes a lot to do. I'm going to give it probably a month or so after release before i decide to bother buying it or not
You guys should try spectator mode at least once before the Beta ends, it's actually kind of fun to fuck around and see everyone do their own little thing.
