Works best when using the "War Tapes" sound setting thing, makes everything important super loud.
Also makes it sound like your speakers are dying.
Gah, fucking Paracel storm, everytime I play that map on conquest I never enjoy it or just quit out entirely. If you're not being raped by a boat, it's a helicopter and if it's not that, then it's the AC-130. There is too little hard cover

I still think Paracel Storm is the fucking tits. Nevermind my stats being something like 10/29 and skill levels dropping fast, the thunderstorm monsoon rain jetstream thing makes up for it.

I'm not sure why there are things like night vision scopes in this game since there's no maps that are dark/night time
It's called thermal NVG but really it's just a green thermal scope instead of a grey thermal scope like the FLIR. On the other hand, I agree night maps would be fucking intense. Just imagine all of the cool gamemodes you could have.
If there's one map I really hate, it's Flood Zone. I get a really bad frame rate on that map for some reason, and the rooftop combat is nowhere near as cool as I thought it was going to be.
Personally I think it's because if you weren't allowed on the roofs it would be incredibly boring. The roofs are the only interesting place to be, to the point that they hardly feel like rooftops- the "ground level" is more like a miserable sewer that you'd use only when required- if you've fallen off or need to do some flanking.
It's more of a "Don't press F if you don't want to lose" kind of thing If you get counter knifed it's entirely your fault
When the game can accurately model and animate where the enemies camera and model is as opposed to my characters model this might be a valid point. BF4 is not currently capable of doing that though so I just don't knife anymore. About half of my backstab attempts have ended with the enemy magically reversing the animation and killing me with the ludicrously generous amount of time you get to simply hit F. I liked the idea of counter-knifing in theory but in practice I'd rather just see it gone or replaced with a non-lethal counter. The current implementation swings the balance well against the person attempting the knife.
The majority of the points are on the same rooftop level, that's whats wrong with floodzone
Flood Zone is the worst parts of a CoD map (mazes stacked on top of mazes) with the Battlefield quasi-accessible rooftop design where a few people take up spots and kill with near impunity. Also has the only levelution in the game that outright makes the map worse.
I want to host a server so much but I don't even have $20 for a 16 man server :(
Again, I have never been counter-knifed unfairly, so I can't say I feel the same way. If anything it's been too generous in my stabbing endeavors.
Flood Zone is the worst parts of a CoD map (mazes stacked on top of mazes)
BF4 needs more of those maps. Everything is just too fucking open.
Flood Zone is pretty good on small-scale SQDM. Makes for some interesting flanking opportunities.
BF4 needs more of those maps. Everything is just too fucking open.
Actually I agree that the game could generally use more infantry-oriented maps but the mazelike design of Flood Zone combined with the rooftops creates a lot of frustrating deaths for me where I die from people above me or just camping in the corners of buildings. I dunno. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. Everyone else I talk to seems to love Flood Zone.
My issue with floodzone is that it's way, way too samey. Literally every building has the exact same staircase leading to the rooftops. On top of that, the rooftops are far too cluttered, nothing up there is easily recognizable, and it just ends up confusing the piss out of me. It's the only map I can't decently navigate on foot.

One reason why I sometimes prefer rush over conquest is just for the fact you know most of the time, unless someone makes a brilliant flank maneuver , you don't have to be spinning around in circles every 10 seconds to watch your back

I'm just saying that of all COD things, the game needs more COD maps.
I love messing with UCAV whores, grab a MAV and keep blowing up their ammo boxes, watch as they run around trying to figure out what's going on
Woah I'm slow, didn't know you could put in pictures and videos on your BL http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/user/Yellowbook/ add meh you sexy sons of bitches okay suddenly they turn into links when I refresh the page wtf refreshes again, it's no longer links but regular text and again I refreshed and now it's all jumbled up code... okay fuck it
Why is it filled with huge nothingness?

umm I went to edit presentation and I held down the enter key
I really hope they fix the friendly squad leader not having an icon in hardcore until you aim at them. That is becoming super frustrating.
I really hope they fix the friendly squad leader not having an icon in hardcore until you aim at them. That is becoming super frustrating.
Tell me about it: I've had so many TK_server_kicks on hardcore, either to panic shooting or plain zoom shots as soon as I met the "enemy" :P
Spent some time abusing the UCAV and now I understand why people are upset about it. With two ammo boxes down it resupplies pretty quickly and with the airburst ability you don't even have to be remotely close to infantry to kill them. Several times I got a double kill by successfully detonating between two enemies several meters apart. Also demolishes vehicles; as far as I can tell it one shots helicopters and two shots armored targets. Perhaps by way of balancing my karma the game decided tonight to give me the worst teams ever, giving me a 200 and a 400 point reversal including an 800 point loss by one. Win rate dropped from almost-round 79% to 76% but I guess that's what I get for kill whoring at main.
The best maps for infantry that I enjoy is Zavod 311 and Dragon Pass. Zavod 311 is great cause it's a medium sized map with not too much focus on vehicles, it has 1 tank per team which allows for great teamplay with a friend. Then there is 2 helicopters and a few other smaller vehicles. The forrest gives good cover from the small attack helicopters and there is plenty of good infantry firefights around the map. Guilean Peaks that came with china rising only has bikes and a transport helicopter on each team so this is even more infantry focused. It allows for great full squad teamplay and you can coordinate easy on what flag you want to take. The map size is perfect for 64 players since it's mainly infantry.
