So, I got killed by some guy fucking around on the Golmud Express Bullet Train... And by the Hotel in Shanghai (You ever seen a team filled with Recons suddenly panic and evacuate the only point they own?)... And the ship on that one map with the Typhoon... Do I suck?

If this is a 1.5GB gtx 580, you have to play with texture quality on high rather than ultra to prevent that type of stuttering.
Same CPU as you but with a 670 and 4GB ram. Windows 8.1.
a 4GB gtx 670 or do you have 4GB of system ram? If the latter, that's your problem.
Also, in a related note, I found out that the post process quality option in the video settings controls the quality of depth of field and motion blur. Medium and lower turns off motion blur.

I have motion blur off anyway, don't see the point in ever having blur on in a competitive shooter, especially when I'm barely hitting 60fps on Ultra anyway
I have motion blur off anyway, don't see the point in ever having blur on in a competitive shooter, especially when I'm barely hitting 60fps on Ultra anyway
yea, that's what I'm saying, select medium post process quality to turn off motion blur. fwir, the motion blur slider doesn't work, so you have to turn it off completely with the post process setting or disable motion blur specifically in console or with a cfg file. Since the post process quality controls only 2 things, motion blur and depth of field, there isn't that much collateral damage from just simply using a lower setting to disable motion blur.

Yeah 4GB ram, not vram. Really? Aren't people playing this game fine with 4?
Is it just motion blur and depth of field with post processing? Might disable altogether

I play MP on low lol, just to prevent any issues that can harm my online performance.

No people are not playing this game, or the last game, fine on 4GB of ram.

I was getting real crap freezes in BF3 with 4gb of ram, so I went and bought another 4 for $30 or something. problem solved

You were sniping with a .338 recon? that´s what i feel when sniping with an ACOG sight with any sniper on Operation Clusterfuck
That usually means the install of the OS is bad.

Yeah, my fav sniper, that was a first time tho
Why do so many people diss Operation Locker? It's a pretty great map if you like close up infantry combat, which I love. Helps me gets shit ton of points as Assault and Support. Also I can rack up some nice kills as engineer with the RPG
How do you blow up the B objective building? Everytime i'm camping in there defending it with the turrets or my gun, and some guys blow it up and it collapses.

Yeah, but the Panopticon at Point C is a massive chokepoint, and is more of a kill-zone than the center points in most of, ahem, Killzone 2's maps.

I love just "camping" there and fighting back the onslaught of successive waves of soldiers. It's awesome and feels badass.

Mostly because 64 player servers think it's a good idea to have Locker in their map rotation. It's like being dropped in one of those Japanese bullethell games, but this time your hitbox is much bigger than one pixel.

Yeah, but you get the issue right? The team that controls the Panopticon pretty much controls the map. They have a fortress with three narrow entrances and pretty much any point between the Panopticon and Base-Camp that falls into the other team's hands will not last longer than quite literally a minute. Even though it can be bypassed, it is still the major killzone since most people understand control of that point is the only hope at getting the majority of points.

i guess i remembered it not completely accurately. It also controls hdr lighting quality, bloom lighting quality, and something called distortion.
The skyscrapers in dawnbreaker, floodzone, and shanghai really ruin the map
Like what's the point of being in a tank if the 63 other people on the server are all fucking around on the skyscrapers and helicopters

Huh...
Didn't know that, I had Post Process on Ultra with Motion Blur on the slider set to 0%. Anyhow, I set up a user.cfg file that gets rid of it all together, cheers!
Can anyone explain how the hell did I get Scout Helicopter Star?

dawnbreaker is a crap map for conquest, the buildings in other two are only used by recon campers anyway (heli roadkill galore)
Fuck me. Just installed it and not only does my PC not detect the GPU for some reason, my PC instantly freezes if I don't use safemode. Even then, it eventually freezes. The issues are probably not the GPU's fault, but god dammit I'm probably gonna have to troubleshoot for the whole fucking weekend instead of trying my brand new shiny toy. Everybody knows how fun it is to try to fix PC problems. I'm really hoping it's not a hardware problem but whatever.
I'm gonna go to sleep, and search around or ask around for solutions tomorrow because I'm fucking exhausted and frustrated right now.
Ok, so, you got to love the randomness of PC issues sometimes.
I was (carefully) playing around with the BIOS, just changing one setting at a time to see if my CPU was the issue, and for some reasons after doing that and resetting the BIOS a couple of times, I booted my PC after another reset and for some reasons all the issues were gone, my PC finally detected my GPU and it's like nothing ever happened. I have no idea why NOW it's all working, but I'm not about to complain. I'm just apprehensive that my PC is going to crap itself for no reason just because it feels like it. It's like my PC has mood swings sometimes.
I'm just about to test my GTX 770 for the first time with a match of BF4, so I guess I'm pretty exited again.

BF3 ran perfect on the same set up though, except on Windows 7.. I don't get it

Operation Clusterfuck (most named by the shitbuckets) rulez:
First and only rule: Throw V40 mini and RGO impact grenades at C.
Many ppl hate it because of the nade panic-paranoia time that occur on C, D and B.
And because of the xtreme spawn camping that occur when you´re with a team n00b doing shit for the rest.

Nevermind, my PC crashed again but it seems like the GPU was working fine (the aero effect was now visible unlike before) so I guess it eliminates it as a potential issue.
Also, is not a frustrating hate, in fact i always get a perfect K/D (kills: 51/ deaths: 15)
Is just ridiculous.
Anyone wanna play on PC? Add TheGubefather

Seems to be working fine now. Ok, so what settings are the most taxing on the GPU, and the CPU especially?
