who do I have to fuck to stay in the fucking air for more than two minutes in conquest? everyone and their fucking mother has heat seeking missiles and I don't have enough flares for this shit
Fly high. Fly very high.
Staying high keeps you out of range of SAMs and it keeps you out of sight of most pilots. From high above, use right mouse to freelook down at the battle below and spot targets. After you spot a target of opportunity, swoop down and make a pass on it. When you're done, fly back up into the stratosphere. Rinse and repeat.
When you fly low, you make yourself a prime target for everything. Use your altitude to your advantage. You can stay out of SAM range, and you can fly higher than helicopters that might target you.

Attack Helicopters really are crap, but it's through no fault of their own. They're actually pretty well balanced. If you ask me, the problem is that they exist in the same game as MAA and Scout Helicopters.
MAA is ridiculously overpowered so that they can counter the ridiculously overpowered Scout Helicopters. If you nerf Scouts (lower in-vehicle repair rate is all you need to do) then you can bring the MAA back down to more reasonable levels, and then there will be parity between the three vehicles. Right now the Scout Helicopter is the best helicopter for everything because it's practically invulnerable when you have engineers repairing it.
I just got my jet and scout chopper wrecked by someone with the machine gun on the RHIB.

attack helis in bf3 had a pretty good measure against them - the tv missile. but no, they just had to nerf its damage in bf4.

There should be a counter that is not it itself.
you mean some other way to take littlebirds down?

That's just called a SMAW or SRAW

That being said though I haven't had the game crash for quite a while now, so it seems like they fixed the big problems.
After 48 hours of intense troubleshooting, I'm finally able to bask in the glory of BF4 on ultra with my GTX 770.
Also did you know that even if you don't have a qualifying CPU, you can still activate Shadowplay as long as you have the right GPU? Just add "-shadowplay" without the quotes in the target of the Geforce Experience shortcut.

eh, you got my hopes up for a moment
I have a gtx 580 and want shadowplay

You still need a GPU that's compatible. Basically the CPU requirement is just to make it so people with shitty CPUs can't complain about Shadowplay. Still works wonders with my The Intel Core 2 Quad.

I genuinely feel bad for owners of AMD cards right now.
Wonder if shadowplay is the cause of my stutter problems? Isn't it constantly recording?
Only if you have it on.
My gtx 760 is running the game on ultra and I have shadowplay in the background, no problems at all. If you're stuttering it is usually just having other apps running in the background.
Yet to try it on a full server, but tried it on an empty one.. Anyone who has bad stutter try gametime.maxvariablefps 60 or gametime.maxvariablefps 120
Depends what hz your monitor is. I have a little bit of stutter still, but only when I sometimes aim down my sights or get on a bike. It improved it a lot for me.
Is there any way to keep this command on launch and not have to write it in the console every time?

I was talking of BF3 and the TV missile situation, pretty much the only thing that could reliably take down an attack heli was a tank or a TV missile
Yeah. So it was always teamwork (gunner + pilot) vs teamwork (recon w/ soflam + engineer w/ javelin)
I've been getting what seems to be serious packet loss in-game the past hour or so, even though no one else seems to be getting it and when I test my connection it seems perfect.
the game uses upnp to free up ports for better network performance. Sometimes, you have to enable upnp support in the router.
Yeah. So it was always teamwork (gunner + pilot) vs teamwork (recon w/ soflam + engineer w/ javelin)
Yeah, well it's easier to get somebody into your helicopter than to get somebody to use SOFLAM

Whatever the problem was, it's gone now. I do already have UPNP enabled, so not the likely culprit this time.

Doesn't mean they're good at it :v:

Create a user.cfg in the BF4 root folder and put it there.
Well I got BF3 working somehow...not entirely sure what I did. At first I thought it was the old version of the colour grading injector I had installed, removing that did nothing. Deleted a lot of files from the game root folder and did a repair install. Still nothing. Reinstalled my graphics drivers, nothing.
Restarted Origin, and it started working again. What the fuck is up with this game.
I've had great rounds on a couple of hardcore servers, never really played on them before.
After a break of month or so I was doing really well, considering that usually everything can and will go wrong.
Then I tried playing on a normal server and boy, did I get frustrated in a minute. It just feels wrong.
Whats your honest opinion on BF4? I kinda wanna buy it, but am really torn that it looks like a BF3 map pack with a few new weapons, etc.

Updated graphics = really pretty to look at, new singleplayer campaign, new and larger maps, same gameplay, same people bitching on chat box.
God, when is the SP deletion bug going to be fixed. I want to get the weapons and tags.

it handles like BF3 and I'm glad I got it for mega cheap Black Friday. It's good in my opinion, but it ain't $60 or $50 good.

the deluxe version is on sale now with the CHina expansion for $50 .. should I pick it up?

the movement and gunplay is MUCH less clunky than BF3, the graphics do look better, people don't take an entire mag of ammo to kill. I don't know if I'd have payed full price for it, but it's worth the $40 I payed.
