Battlefield maps being designed to look a lot bigger than they really are was something I was hoping (but not expecting) them to fix for Battlefield 4. Aside from the physics, it is my greatest problem with modern Battlefield games.
I played 1942 today and God dammit the physics and map size of the new games are such a step backwards. I say it all the time, but Frostbite's physics are fake rubberbanding garbage. I hate them and they make vehicles feel like anything but. The physics of the old games had vehicles feeling like real vehicles governed by real physics. Maps in the old games felt so much bigger due to their slower pace. In 1942 and BF2, you don't sprint at 20mph, tanks don't race across maps like rally cars, etc. It made the old maps feel so much more open, even if they technically aren't much bigger than modern Battlefield maps.
Anyway, rant over. I fully expect Battlefield 4 to be full of postcard sized maps with enormous amounts of unused space surrounding them. My only hope right now is that because those videos are from the console version, they are only playing Conquest small. We'll know for sure by tomorrow.
I don't know why but I'm actually really excited for the singelplayer, but I can't wait to dominate the air with a plane in multiplayer!

thing is though, modern day tanks (hell, even a lot of old tanks too) and vehicles aren't sluggish and slow, they're pretty quick and agile.
As much as I loved the physics of the old BF games, the gunplay has improved so much I can forgive it for the most part

this, the M1 abrams goes about 42 mph (62 km) on roads, slow heavy tanks are just a massive target for tank busting weapons.

Battlefield 2s speeds, along with maps like Dragon Valley are what I miss the most from the Battlefield 3. To me that was the perfect compromise.

I am NA, but I was sent a key (in an email) immediately after I purchased just now. Don't know why it says "Keys will be delivered by the release date of the game", considering it shows up just below the key itself.

This didn't work the last time I tried but I did the GMG code this morning and it worked correctly. I got BF4 for $48, so for those that this didn't work before and you still haven't bought BF4 yet, give it another shot.
Also preordered Premium because I was going to do that eventually anyway.

Starting to regret pre-ordering the retail copy and not the digital copy.
Why are people saying it's releasing tomorrow, that's just when the preload starts or am I missing something here.
