I experienced it first hand. I used to have a Core 2 Q6600E and a GTX 560Ti. During the beta I had serious problems with stuttering and sporadic framerate drops. Around release of the game I upgraded to an i5 3570k and I saw a huge improvement in my framerate and the consistency of my framerate. Battlefield just doesn't run well with pre-i3/i5/i7 CPUs.
Well, you were most likely using 4 gigs of ram as well with the q6600, which was the problem imo. An overclocked q6600 under windows 8 would probably still be decent. It could probably hold it's own against an AMD fx6300, which is a modern processor. Which is a testament to the legendary status of the q6600. And under mantle, you'll probably have no problems achieving high fps with a q6600.

Then Guilin Peaks was stuttery..
Ok so what I noticed today is that there is a way of removing the stutter ( under win8). All I did was change the energy settings to "performance" instead of what it was before and then the stutter was gone enjoying smooth 60 frames with minimums of 30 frames on medium settings. I guess I could even bring up the options a bit with only a loss of about 2 fps. So my theory is: there is something that isnt correctly coded fom DICEs side that makes the game stutter when you dont run on this certain mode in win8 a thus it gives the impression of cpu lag.
Considering the card is encoding what you're seeing/hearing to mp4 and then acting in the capacity of a PVR, I'd say it is probably taking a small toll on your FPS. That said a gtx770 is quite a bit better than a 760, so he must have a bottleneck on his motherboard or his cpu is acting up.
I also am running on a stock i5 3750, hmmm. My motherboard is also P8Z77-V Pro.. And I'm running off a SSD. Something else must be wrong..
I have an FX8320 with a HD7750 and, surprisingly, never had a problem with the game performance-wise. I used to have some stuttering but I associated it to my cpu overheating and crappy monitor. Changed the thermal paste on my heatsink and the game runs well now. Still haven't changed my old CRT screen yet. Not sure if it had anything to do with it now. I got a laptop for my brother I ocasionally use. It's an I7 3632 with 8gb and Intel graphics, and I was wondering if I could play the game on it.

Something else must be wrong..
You're using a solid Asus board, a 3570 AND running on an SSD? Now you've got me puzzled. Do the obvious and check for updates for your mobo (including bios) and your video card. Once that's done, give it a test. If nothing changes, go into your bios and disable the onboard graphics (if you can). Also as mentioned just above, check your windows power profile. If it is anything other than 'Performance' or some variation of that, change it to that (or make a new profile with everything maxed out). I used to have this problem when I first started playing Planetside 2. Windows seems to like scaling down your processor speeds for no reason.
I got a laptop for my brother I ocasionally use. Make sure you have a cooling deck or something under your laptop if you're going to game on it.
Jesus christ every time I open this thread I double-take to make sure I didn't click on some thread in Hardware and Software. Has this thread always been a specs circlejerk? Anyway, praying that the coming balance updates make the knife-counter window a bit more narrow. The countering window is significantly too wide, and I have had many times where I have been able to counter without even paying attention to the game.
The one time I record a gameplay where I do really well my codec settings were up the arse and it stutters like fuck :( [editline]11th January 2014[/editline] but anyways theres some good dmr gameplay, still processing tho

Now I know why people like SRR-61. That thing is just waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too easy to use.
Is the premium addon worth it?

I'm not sure when or how or why, but it won't work in any game at all for any reason now. This is an interesting recent development.
I guess I was lucky as hell when this Tank came closer to Landmines. [t]http://i.imgur.com/ku8BVCI.jpg[/t] My first MAV kill.
I just OC'ed my CPU and my god it's like that scene in Spider-Man where everything around him slows down. It's like I can react faster than all of my enemies. I still need a new CPU, but at least now I get solid 60 FPS.

Trying to carry in 64p CQL is so painful :c Does anyone know any good EU Rush servers? I've tried playing Rush a few times before but when I was defending my team got rolled each time and when I was attacking my team sat at a base for a good 40-50 tickets before realising they have to move up eventually.
My Phenom II x4 965 OCd to 3.8ghz only gets like 40-55 fps :/
The same thing I got.. Medium settings will get me 60-100FPS, high will get me 40FPS with stutter. I guess its time for an upgrade anyway

Shadowplay is almost perfect it just needs the ability to record to different channels so I'm not picking up tards talking in TS3. And everything as far as I know is up-to-date. Maybe not the MOBO though.. BF4 takes a really fucking long time to load too... Not sure why.. I have 8 GIGS of ram and my friend that runs it off a 7950 and regular HDD loads it nearly twice as fast as me...
My problem is my frame rate goes like this: 90 93 89 91 90 11 72 105 96 94 95 13 70 83, etc It's just not consistent, big big frame dips. Other games run perfectly (except DayZ which has a similar problem, that's on the ARMA 2 engine). I would ask if this is anything to do with NVIDIA cards but seems like people are playing fine, it feels like a CPU problem.. Could it be a HDD/RAM problem? Sometimes when I join it can take up to 10 or so seconds for terrain/other textures to appear non-blurry.
Apparently, China Rising maps were to have Levolution but DICE removed them to ensure stability or something. http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/forum/threadview/2955064772223334825/1/
Are there player camouflages in BF4? If so, are there any screenshots of them?
There's I believe like 6 or 8 for each faction, so the U.S, Chinese, and Russians. They're different than each others too I believe.
-snip-
So uhh, is it worth buying the game now? Just wondering.
So uhh, is it worth buying the game now? Just wondering.
Yep, even though it got some major flaws, it's still Battlefield and really fun with friends.

I remember this exact thing

I can go from 110fps while running on high/very high to 30fps at random points...not even with lots of particle effects going on, and it'll bounce between 70-110fps. I just put it down to shit optimization of the game because I don't have that issue in any other game. Any other game the fps variation is 5-10. Battlefield 4 is just utter garbage. I've not even bothered playing latley because my load times for the default maps are starting to take minutes, only to join a team which is losing/useless anyway and while the china rising maps load a helluva lot quicker, around 30 seconds or so. I can't seem to find that many servers with space that are running it so for now I'm just going to give up on Bf4 and hope for some patches that add improvement for optimzation.
