I would ask for one of those mods that kicks you for shooting from base but then I remember what happened in BC2: you'd get basecamped and when you shot back you got kicked from the server. That mod didn't prove to be very popular for long haha.

I hate the idea that to make a class useful you have to neuter it into a slightly longer range assault class. The Recon should be given equipment that supports the team by giving information. IMO any enemy a sniper can see while scoped should automatically be spotted until the sniper loses sight of them, give them more tools to disrupt enemy movement, let them place shit to distract the enemy by having a fake soldier appear on the map.
Just removing sniper rifles is the laziest way of trying to balance the recon class. Just because you don't see what the recons are doing doesn't mean they can't be useful.

Sounds like they're trying to make the DRMs like the BF3 DMRs which were decently balanced. It just sounds like they're going to make the long range damage at least 34 so that it can three hit kill at long range. That plus an accuracy boost is a needed change. It doesn't sound like they're increasing the short range damage much, if at all, and even if they did make them a two shot kill at close range it would only bring them up to par with the BF3 DMRs, which again, were hardly OP.
DMRs need all the help they can get. They're garbage.

The only thing that proves is that you use DMRs a lot. That's good for you, but that doesn't make them any better.
I hate to go all Altimor tryhard statistics masturbation on you, but they are statistically awful weapons. There is nothing they can do that [I]many[/I] weapon can't do better. If you like them and like using them that's fine. There are some guns I really like and use all the time but are okay at best. (e.g. Type 95B/QBZ-95) I do well with them, but that doesn't mean they're actually any good. I know very well that even though they have some unique advantages, I would do better with an overall better gun like the AK 5C for example.

tbh the only thing that's really good in DMR's is the long range side. I don't mean 40x scope long range but like 150-300 meters, that's where DMR's shine. Being able to engage targets at that range won me over to the DMR side

I don't know I find DMR's pretty useful in open vehicle warfare maps like Silk Road, Rogue Transmission and Paracel Storm because the range they have and they can be used decently in almost any situation. The problem with carbines is that if I shoot them far away with it its too inaccurate and doesn't do enough damage and they fuck me up or fuck off and run away.
Under no circumstances are they ideal in a close quarters combat situation though

the only way they're good in close quarters is if you can hit the head with one shot and then shoot where ever you want

Close quarters headshot should be an Insta-Kill with a DMR.

I find controlling the vertical recoil easier with the PKP, so I use compensator and stubby grip. However if you don't want to hurt your accuracy at range, just go with no barrel attachment (flash hider if you got it unlocked) and stubby/ergo.

BF3 DMRs aren't balanced because of suppression
These connectivity issues are getting beyond ridiculous, with every new patch I get a whole host of new issues.
They seriously need to release some new content for this game already. As i've stated before, out of the ~80 people on my friends list that i accumulated from playing BF4, less than 10 of them have even played a match within the last 2-3 weeks. Less than 5 have played a match in the last few days. With all this moronic ass kissing "double XP and battlepacks!!1!" and even free booster packs coming up, what's the point in challenging yourself to unlock shit anymore? I went through and unlocked all of the DMR stuff in TWO matches. TWO. How? Because they gave everyone double XP to try to compensate for their fuck ups.
It's honestly a smack in the face when they think holding back content, not fixing their game, and then giving us something as trivial and stupid as double XP makes up for it. I don't WANT double XP, it's making the unlocks go far too fast and thus making the game more boring for me in the long run. I find fun in challenging myself to unlock shit - if you take away half of that challenge by giving everyone double XP that means i'm going to be playing the game half as much
