that doesnt make them any good. they're shit, and they're gonna be sold sometime. it's more ways of microtransactions, just like the vehicle shortcuts and shit. who wants to randomly unlock an item? some things in battlepacks are exclusive. veteran pack can unlock a scope for the magnum for example. only dice employees can use that.
DICE doesn't have exclusive attachments anymore, they just get a pure black camo.
They do have exclusive attachment, or "semi-exclusive". Someone got a "rare" magnum scope that said it was for dice employees only in a veteran battlepack. ANOTHER reason battlepacks suck.

and then you really want that scope that takes up the least of your screen but you find out its 2 dollars. i can see it happening. also, would you rather want cosmetic items you pay for, or items that can change stats on weapons? i could see them making grips just cosmetic, instead of having lots of different grips with different stats.

I just talked to a custom service rep and the preload date not showing up in the client [b]is[/b] a bug. They didn't tell me when it would be expected to be resolved on my account as they just said "soon".
[b]EDIT[/b] A rep is now telling me preloads have temporarily been put on hold due to server load issues.

Well its the same arguement about the microtransactions in Dead Space 3. Either play the game or pay money to get stuff you would get playing the game anyway. I was never tempted to buy any of them microtransaction stuff in DS3, and the same would hold true in BF4. You're going to get it playing the game, so what does it matter.

I'm assuming for all of NA it's unlocked at midnight EST, so 9PM on the west coast, 8pm in alaska etc.

The BF3 shortcuts weren't even close to game changing, and they came out a little after the games release if i recall correctly.
If they do a similar thing and give the option to charge for battlepacks, i'm almost certain it's going to be in the same time frame that the BF3 shortcuts were released. It gives people who want to earn things naturally through playing the game more than enough time to do so, and it puts enough of a delay on purchasing them that it won't give people who purchase them an advantage over others by letting them buy a bunch of unlocks day 1

You got the brand new drivers? Also, close Battlelog. There is a memory leak when playing. Just launch the game, then close battlelog.

btw bf4 map design is so awesome
Here's all the maps in Conquest Large. Some of them are actually pretty big. Golmud, Rogue Transmission, and Lacang Dam look pretty decently sized. Unfortunately, most of the points are concentrated in a small area, making the large map physical size just decoration. It looks a little better than BF3, but I'm reserving judgement until I play them. Who knows, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.
