Does the game like to disable spotting sometimes?
Cause I'll be aiming straight at someone, spamming the spot button, and it won't even spot them

It disables if you spam without marking someone. it like has a cooldown once its disabled by like 10 seconds or something. should make a beep to let you know its disabled for a little bit.

However if you google 'Massive CPU/GPU spikes' without even mentioning Battlefield 4, you will see that at least the first 5 results are Battlefield 4 related. Also the device_hung error I've only been getting recently so it's either the latest drivers I got or the latest patch that's broken something.
My friend has a similar build PC and doesn't have any issues and he's running it on Ultra. Hell, I can run it on Ultra and get about 80 FPS, trouble is, I'll be hit with those massive GPU/CPU spikes every 30 seconds or so and my game will freeze or my FPS will drop below 30. Running the test range is smooth as fuck and the singleplayer runs pretty well. It's something in the multiplayer side of it that causes my CPU/GPU to go nuts and I have no idea what but it's fucking annoying

What did I just read? Actually you're right I'll start shooting non explosive projectiles at tanks and choppers. That will kill them.

You just suddenly hear the incoming missile warning and then you're dead.

Same thing, I also had it on W7. Although when I first upgraded to W8.1 it worked perfectly so I'm wondering if something has changed since. May just reboot my whole pc again

I've spent days looking at the official forums, I've spent 5+ hours in live chats with EA support, I'm currently waiting for an 'EA specialist' to reply to my email to get tech help, yes I've bothered more than I fucking should for this dump game. I've tried all sorts of suggested fixes on the forums, none have worked.

Yeah I was debating just biting the bullet and getting an SSD and Windows 8 but I've seen in the forums about people having SSD's and Windows 8 yet still getting stutter so meh, would rather wait until someone says it is a definite solution

I don't care how well balanced active radar missiles might be or get, they are a bad game mechanic and DICE should feel bad.

literally the only counter is launching ECM when you see the MAA launch the missiles and even then it may not work because these missiles don't listen to physics and will do 360 degree turns with a 4 meter radius at 600kph

I was just on a server that said "No foul language" and someone got banned for saying Allah.

No swearing servers are dumb. The soldiers in the game swear like sailors. Especially the Chinese soldiers.
No insulting is fine but no swearing is just retarded. Simply having the rule "stay mature" should be enough.
Joined a server that said "No Shotguns" and slayed you for getting a shotgun kill, but it only ever played wide open maps like Rogue Transmission, Paracel Storm and Shanghai Tower.

Servers with language filters and weapon/class limits are literally the worst. It's an R rated game ffs (@former) and the biggest part of BF is being able to switch to a class that is most useful in a given situation (@latter).

Banning or Capping snipers is fine in my book, but doing it to other things seems unfair.
