It's for having a service star in each class. Apparently you get one for each class you have a service star with and moving forward you will get a gold battlepack with every new class service star you get. They did it so people who reach top rank can still get gold battlepacks.

I never got the prompt before this update so who knows.
Anyone else incredibly disappointed by CA? Feels like dice handed it to the interns or something. All of the mechanics, none of the soul.

not having this issue at all, nope.
i find CA to be pretty fun. i mean, it would've been a better idea to have at least 3 or 4 M-COMs instead of 2, but y'know...i'll deal with what i have. i doubt they'd change such a major gameplay element.
Had a couple of ridiculous rounds with TheBrokenLaw earlier. Was super fun. One of the highlights being me having to rearm the same M-COM three times in a row (eventually winning the round).
By the way, heavy barrel is finally worth using now. Try it out on a weapon of yours. I'm rocking the AWS with it and a magnifier, and it's almost like a marksman rifle that is full auto and has 100 rounds. I'm not joking. With such a short reload you can also spam it everywhere.

I'm happy about this, except the smoke grenades. I love getting an LMG with an IRNV scope and drowning myself in smoke so I can shoot everyone without them seeing me in Operation Locker/Metro. I guess the XM25 smoke might be relevant now.

i play on EGO's servers on Carrier Assault Large, feeling little to no rubberbanding.
I'd join in the FPEU fun but i got no of that fancy premium. I'll be hiding on my 1.7k ticket fast respawn server instead, dicking around with vehicles

Don't worry, I don't own premium too.
I tend to play a lot of TDM/Domination, it just suits my play-style. I can't play conquest as I'm shite with any vehicle. If you ask me to fly a heli, prepare to instantly bail.

Heh, i'm kinda opposite. I love flying jets and helicopters instead of being on the ground. That said one of the highlights of the game for me was a round on Operation Locker where i just had music playing over the game and running around like an idiot with a shotgun
Has anyone personally confirmed the class star battlepack thing? Because I have 4 of them, but I just got another service star and I didn't get another one. I wouldn't be surprised if DICE made it so that you only get one for the first service star.

That new easter egg in Nasha Strike is one of the creepiest thing so far i've ever seen.

every premium member got 4 out of nowhere for some reason. i have about 8-9 total service stars for my classes, but only got 4 packs.
