Man I wish there were High Explosive shells. I thought the upgrade path was like
AP Shell: Average vs Infantry and Tanks, Average speed
HE Shell: Good vs Infantry, Bad vs Tanks, Slowest speed
KE Shell: Bad vs Infantry, Good vs Tanks, Fastest speed
But now that I know it's just a linear upgrade path of AP > HE > KE, it's not so interesting or fun sounding anymore.
Not quite.
AP: Best for anti-infantry, large splash damage, has good DPM for anti-vehicle.
HEAT: Highest anti-vehicle alpha, but slow rate of fire, low velocity, and reduced splash damage.
SABOT: Identical DPM to AP, tiny splash damage, high rate of fire, high velocity.
The turbonerds on Symthic will argue that HEAT is pointless because the low rate of fire reduces DPM, but I would argue that a high alpha can be valuable. Either way, the turbonerd suggestion is SABOT for when you know you're going to be fighting tanks on large maps, or AP for when you're going to be fighting mostly infantry on smaller maps. I swap back and forth between AP and SABOT all the time depending on the map and game mode.
-Nevermind, ninja'd as fuck -
Whenever I use an HE round, I get outgunned by opponents using SABOT rounds. Even been outgunned by someone using AP rounds.
I never ever use HE, it's useless compared to SABOT

It's not, you just don't use it properly. It will utterly wreck shit if you flank other thanks. Nothing hurts more than a 55 damage rear shot with a complete disable.
It's great if you move a lot. Max speed around Golmond, doing hit and runs on APCs with it, it's very effective
Bullet drop can be a bitch though
I don't know why, but I've been able to knife a lot of people lately. I think I've figured out roughly what people's edge of vision is relative to their model and take a lot of people by surprise.
Last night I think I got around 15 dogtags or so.
[editline]30th April 2014[/editline]
I think that twice I was able to get 3 guys in a row.
A bit late, but I just noticed this message in our platoon's public feed:

I don't receive hacking accusations a whole lot so I'm very flattered. BF4 is probably one of the few games I'm good at.

Honestly, I've just been watching a lot of Blackmesatech (a.k.a. Ravic) and it helped improve my game tremendously:

He's like the stabbystabby of the BF world.
dat lack of recoil, god damn.
Unlocked the SW40, to me it's the most fun gun to use, there's probably a sidearm that's better than it at everything, but I like this little revolver getting 30-40 meter headshots
I'm still on the starter pistol, but that's okay because it's served me well.
The revolver is only notable to me because one round I got killed by a guy 3 times who would swim under water, then pop up near the shore and shoot you, then swim away. I started imagining him as this:

[editline]1st May 2014[/editline]
I also called him "that fucking dolphin" and my teammates thought there was literally a dolphin killing me.
Depends on a few things. If you've bought it within 7 days, you're covered by Origin's Great Game Guarantee where you can get a refund.
Outside of 7 days you'll be hard pushed to get a refund, unless, I guess, if you can prove that the game was not fit for purchase (Sale of Goods Ace 1979) e.g. if the game doesn't run on your PC even though your PC meets or exceeds the game's requirements. You probably won't get a refund if you say 'because the game is buggy and glitchy.'
It also depends on where you bought the game. If you bought it directly through the origin client you can open your order history on your Origin account and use the "Request a refund" function. If you bought the game through anything else you gotta deal with those guys not Origin.
oh, and with regards to your previous post, there is an upcoming update which is supposed to fix the 'Death Glitch'
I haven't played since late March, I'm a bit burned out on it too. I'm just gonna wait til they update the game and see how it plays.
Basically, the horrible quality of the game was giving me the shits.
So I got very drunk, rage-quit after a particularly BULLSHIT game, and had a very drunken conversation with the tech support after about a month of owning the game.
They sadly did not have the authority to process my refund. :(

The thing I love about the SW40 is how someone will run up on you after you've dumped your primary mag expecting a quick and easy kill but if you've switched to the SW40 two rounds from the hip puts them down so surprisingly quick.
On the Hanai Resort, TDM, I actually ended up getting into a proper duel with a guy running with the .44 Mag. But since I dumped my cylinder at him and then went for my ACW-R, he got me with his .44.
Still, it was badass as fuck, having a revolver match, out of the blue.

Not to mention the SW40 has no firing delay, and faster ROF than the REX making it an ideal CQB secondary weapon.
If you want a good balance between accuracy and damage the M1911 is ideal.
The attack helicopter feels so slow I can't fly it.
It's virtually combat ineffective since it cant actually escape AA during gun runs.
It should really have the under-the-radar perk back IMO
Can someone invite me to the platoon please? Name is FLANANANAGAN. Thanks.
Also is the 64 bit version stuttering a lot for anyone else?

It's tedious to invite people manually. Just apply to either platoons and we'll accept it.
It should really have the under-the-radar perk back IMO
Yeah that's what we need, even more useless AA :v:
You only have like 1-2 AA guys per-team while you have like 15+ AT guys, and Helicopters tank 3+ hits not counting misses from shrapnel. Consider locking on time and travel times, you'll only get 1-2 hits unless the Pilot makes no effort to avoid. 90% of the time if you shoot down a helicopter, it's because it was already heavily damaged (-50% health at least) from another fight (that it may or may not still be a part of). On the other hand, an expert pilot is night impossible to take down.
I play BF4 a lot, and it's really noticable when my game is off. It's like, I'll consistently miss my target by a few degrees on either side, I'll react slower, I'll usually hipfire when it should be better to ADS, I'll go full auto when I should be bursting, etc...
When I'm on fire, it's the complete opposite.
Sometimes it takes me a couple of games to warm up.
[editline]2nd May 2014[/editline]
Funny how that works.

Pretty much similar situation. Sometimes I don't do really well, end up being mid-scoretable on 32 or 64 player server, but some times(like recent 'streak' I had before moving and being unable to play for two weeks) I kept going higher and higher with every match and had awesome games overall(tho I was mostly playing Lockers because murdering people with hadnguns was fun).
I know I'm gonna sound absolutely retarded but can someone clarify how the first shot multiplier works.
Take the RPK12. it has a vertical of 0.3, and a FSM of 1.6, would that mean the player would experience an initial 0.48 recoil before going back to 0.3?
With Heavy barrel and angled grip, the RPK12 has a vertical of 0.45 so the player would experience an initial of 0.48 before going back down to 0.45?
Yeah that's what we need, even more useless AA :v:

What.
Thats like the entire opposite of what people have been complaining about.

Recoil is cumulative with each shot. The first shot multiplier is how much more recoil you get on the first shot.
Is Battlefield 4 worth getting if I already have Battlefield 3. Are there currently any issues that make the game unplayable in some way? And is there much more features that make it worth while over BF3?
Is Battlefield 4 worth getting if I already have Battlefield 3. Are there currently any issues that make the game unplayable in some way? And is there much more features that make it worth while over BF3?
I think at this point, if you were holding back, enough issues were fixed for BF4 to now be a pleasant experience.
Recoil is cumulative with each shot. The first shot multiplier is how much more recoil you get on the first shot.
So... my maths would be correct then?
I gotta start trying out more burst fire weapons and burst fire modes.
Burst fire would see the most benefit of having a Heavy barrel and angled foregrip, because if the FSM is calculated at the end, the m16a4 would be a vertical of 0.7 without anything and with a heavy barrel and angleforegrip of 0.7035.
Seems like there is no downside at all, and having an increased accuracy due to the HBar.
It irks me when people join a squad just to spawn and tk.
Our team was doing fine until the tks happened at halfway. Because of that, we lost our 200 ticket lead.
BF4 is so much more enjoyable when you talk to your teammates, even if you don't know them
Make sure your mic is set up and use it a lot to have fun
Looking to play. I'll be open most-all nights (and overnights) pending a possible work schedule change.
Introducing Squad Join Beta
Connecting and playing with your friends has always been a central aspect of the Battlefield multiplayer experience. To help make this easier, we are now releasing Squad Join Beta for Battlefield 4. This is something we know our fans have been asking for – and something we wish we could have provided at launch – so we are now happy to present the first iteration of Squad Join.
Squad Up Before Battle
Squad Join Beta allows you to set up a squad for up to 5 people before joining a multiplayer server. This means that you and 4 of your friends can join a Battlefield 4 match as a squad, and deploy directly in the game together. Once in-game, you and your squad mates are guaranteed to stick together over rounds.
We would like to add that Squad Join Beta is the first iteration of the feature. We will continue to add features and tweaks based on your feedback and comments, and are aiming to release the next version of Squad Join when Battlefield 4 Dragon’s Teeth arrives this summer. Also note that Squad Join Beta is available for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
Before digging into the details, check out this Squad Join Beta tutorial video (note that this clip shows a work in progress).
How It’s Done
To join Battlefield 4 as part of a squad, simply choose “Squad Join Beta” in the game’s multiplayer menu. Here you will be able to see a list of active squads, or create your own. A list of the five slots will appear, with the squad leader indicated by a star. When you’re good to go, just initiate quickmatch to join a game, and you’ll be in-game with your squad mates, ready to bring your team to victory.
Also, if you’ve left your squad and want to re-join it, you can do so – if the squad has a free slot. Joining this way will enable you to both join the squad and the match at the same time.
Other Squad Join Features
As mentioned, this is the first iteration of Squad Join and other features for it are planned, with the first major update coming within the next months (a more exact date will be communicated later). In this multi-release process, we are working on features like managing party members, and making Squad Join available for all game modes.
Initially, Squad Join Beta will be available in the Battlefield 4 base game maps in the Conquest, Team Deathmatch, Obliteration, Rush, and Domination game modes. All the other Battlefield 4 maps and more game modes will be supported in later iterations of Squad Join.
Give us Your Feedback
Your comments and feedback are valuable to us. We’d really like to hear your input about Squad Join Beta and make you a part of improving this feature. Please leave your comments below. We hope you will enjoy trying out Squad Join Beta, and that it will make your time in Battlefield 4 even more enjoyable.
It's for consoles, so if you are PC, ignore. I was hoping it's "improved" squad join for PC, but nope.
