GTX 780. Running on highest settings, but I'm getting weird drops in fps/gpu meter goes down randomly. Not even sure why, it never does this to other games.
I'm playing BF2:PR alongside BF4. Makes for a nice change of pace.
Anyone playing Project Reality these days?
GTX770 here, being held back by the rest of my computer.
Fuck.
I feel that pain. Got the specs to run at medium, but only 4GB ram. Stuttering can get pretty bad at times. Always nice to have the game freeze during a strafing run, and it coming back just in time to see the plane crash into a tree

I had that, how much ram are you running? Going from 4 to 8 solved this for me.
Radeon 7870 HD here.
Ultra without MSAA and using SSAO Playing at Average 40 FPS, some maps never drop 60.
Have any of the DLCs been any good? I'm hesitant to drop $50 on Premium if only one or two of the map packs are actually decent.
I like Naval Strike alot, and the karkland map pack. China Rising is alright.
karkland
I can't believe it's been nine years and people are still doing this.
Karkand c:
China Rising was really good, Second Assault was okay but rather boring since it was mostly stuff I played before, and Naval Strike has some good ideas with poor execution in my opinion.
Overall I kinda wish I hadn't bought Premium for BF4, especially since most of my friends quit.

8, and I have an i7, so I have no clue why BF4 does this.

I wish people from FPNA would be online more so we can get the Platoon higher ranked

Also...
dem stats
http://bf4stats.com/pc/Areolop
3 vs 7, teams are obviously unbalanced.
Two of the guys on my team are almost top rank and in the same clan, don't switch.
I volunteer to switch, ask someone to join me. Nobody answers, call them a bunch of pussies.
I switch, we still lose but I make them pay dearly for it.

Sometimes you have to man up to make things more fair and fun.

That edginess.
That edginess.
Unfortunately, you're pretty much right. I don't always switch teams, but recently I have more fun switching teams to make things more balanced and challenging rather than trying to pad my precious win/lose ratio. Really, I have never seen anyone volunteer to switch teams.
It's a sad day when not trying to pad your stats is considered edgy, but it's what the BF community has come down to. I'm not immune to it, I love my stats, but I can spare a couple of lost games when teams get so stacked that it becomes boring as hell.
That specific time, I was just putting my money where my mouth was because I hate unbalanced teams but I'm usually reluctant to switch if I'm on the winning team.

More annoyingly, its hard to find servers with premium maps. Especially when you want to play em. Like Second Assault.

ala BF3, the problem isn't that its hard to find vanilla servers, but its hard to find servers for DLC that aren't new. Which is really sad because the most quality expansion so far, China Rising, is practically dead. All the servers on my Favorites list were China Rising and they never have players.
Here's my opinion on the DLC so far.
China Rising has some genuinely cool maps. Guilin Peaks is my favorite. While I think the maps from CR are cool, I truly don't understand what the fek Dice is doing adding in nothing but giant, open meandering vehicle maps. I feel like BF4 has -plenty- of that already. What's worse is the fact that they have so many cool CQB weapons in the game, yet I'd say the average engagement distance is already too far for the weapon set they have. Silk Road is so boring to play on.
Second Assault is kindof a turd. Again, they chose the giantest worst most meandering boring maps. I would have taken Seine River, Damavand Peak, Tehran Highway or Grand Bazaar over Firestorm any day. I will give them props on making Caspian Border much more playable, though. Metro also feels a bit reinvigorated. They even brought back some of the most annoying weapons from BF3. This whole pack almost feels like an intentional tongue-in-cheek.
Naval Strike must be the best DLC so far, even though it's not without its problems. I feel like for most of the maps, they have done a really good job balancing that meandering thing I hate with the CQB. The infantry combat feels sufficiently separated from the vehicular combat on all the maps except Lost Islands, which is supposed to be vehicle-centric I guess. Carrier Assault is also annoying. I don't think I've ever been in a game where the team that gets their carrier boarded first wins.
I feel like there are already too many giant maps in the game. Combined with how their weapon set works, it makes for a really boring experience some times. I hope it's like BF3 where the last two expansions have the cool and interesting maps. Otherwise, I'll be sorely disappointed.
Still missing proper urban maps.
BF3 Aftermath maps were some of my favorite ones.

To me anyways, detailed stat tracking and leaderboards was one of the worst things to happen to PC gaming. Battlefield 2 was the first game I remember playing with a built in and detailed stat tracking system and that fact influenced a lot of my ingame decisions because "muh stats." After some weird mixup that corrupted my BF2 stats and made them completely meaningless and totally off the mark I had more fun with the game.
Every game since then that keeps track of this stuff I won't ever do things that would effectively ruin my stats. I'm okay with using a suboptimal gun or setup, but only as long as it's not so bad that it lowers the bar. World of Tanks was the absolute worst when it came to this and utterly destroyed my ability to have fun because stats are so important in World of Tanks that "playing for fun" is downright demonized and vilified in many World of Tanks circles.
But maybe that's just a personal problem.
Close Quarters 2 pls
How to win carrier assault if your carrier gets boarded first:
Set-up with claymores and the AWS in the engine room and protect the objective like you are George Zimmerman defending his front lawn.
Then hope you can hold the tide long enough for your own team to rush the enemy ship and blow it up.
If they're too distracted attacking you, they usually won't have anyone defending their own ship.
Works surprisingly often.

I don't have this problem? Hell, one of the first things I ever did when I got a Tank was yell "RAMMING SPEED" over the mic and shift+w into the enemy tank. It did nothing but get me killed, but I thought it was fucking hilarious.
The ubiquitous nature of stats in BF3 and BF4 have caused me to get better as a player but are also a source of frustration from time to time. I don't let it run my sessions but I do feel worse after a particularly bad game than I otherwise would since I tab out or quit and see nothing but numbers.
I don't have the same problem with CoD because you have to go out of your way to see your stats where as Battlelog is always there in your face.

I guess this is why people like guys such as Doom49 because they don't take the game as seriously.
my favorite thing to do in bf2 was jihading into apc, tanks, jets, and helicopters with c4 and a jeep

Still is.
DMR's. Love? Hate?
I'm sick of trying to get all the shotguns unlocked. Not enough range for me.
DMRs: Hate it when all you hear is *crackrackrackrackrackrack* just used as a spam because someone has shit for aim.
Don't mind it when it's maybe 3-4 cracks with some timing between them.
Love it when it's just one well-placed shot.
