Not really, they made it so that once you're max level you get a gold battlepack for every class service star I think.
Anyway, maybe Battlefield: Hardline will be a small downloadable game like Battlefield 1943 was. I doubt a 60 dollars release would be very appealing.

hmm, quite interested. It isn't made by DICE at all but Visceral. Hope they get it right, also I wonder if you will be restricted to using pistols as robbers and such.. I would love that. Having those robbery missions with all primary rifles would be boring or a simple shitfest.

If it's Payday blended with BF4 then yes please, but I don't like that it has got Battlefield in its name because it's not Battlefield game anymore. The point of all Battlefields is military warfare, and this isn't the Battlefield I excpeted. However, as the game, this is looking alright, especially with some touches from BF2 Special Forces.
Battlefield is in the name so they can sell copies/Make excuses why it has reused content.
I like the look of Hardline, I can't wait.

I feel torn about the game overall. I like the cops and robbers theme, but it doesn't feel that much like Battlefield and I'm afraid the main thing that will support it will be the new modes. Also:

I've got almost 100 25% xp boosts and 40 or so 50% xp boosts. Just playing the game, not doing anything special..why would anyone want to spend money getting battlepacks, you get shit loads

I am a guy that likes weird guns and such, but I really hope they put some limitations in this game. I hope to god the robbers can't use shit like AEK or AN-94 and other high-tech weaponry like the LSAT and Pancor Jackhammer (of which before they went under, they made 4 PROTOTYPES and only 2 of them were fully-auto)
So I've been on an old games kick. Been playing some Quake Live and competitive CS:GO.
I truly feel like BF4 has absolutely ruined my aim.
I didn't really see anything exciting in that trailer. Looked like a Battlefield 4 mod with a singleplayer that is going to be another 4-5 hours of by the numbers corridor shooting.

With that logic bf 2142 shouldn't have been a bf game either. And it ended up being one of the better bf games.

You can't make Counter Strike and call it "Battlefield".
Bf2142 is military warfare. Hardline isn't military, it's cops vs gangs.

battlefield games are about playing in a battlefield. It doesn't have to be military warfare. Just because the previous games had a military focus doesn't mean the franchise isn't allowed to be expanded.
