Wait, you can Spray your emblem?
Wait, you can Spray your emblem?
On PS4 you hold the Spot button (touchpad) and it sprays. I'd assume it's something similar on PC, check the keybinds.
You press 'C' on PC. I had no idea you could put it on Riot shields though, this is going to be so much fun.
Did you always die this fast in Battlefield? I feel like every time I find another player its 2 shots to the arm and I'm down instantly
I never remember being this quick in BF3
Low tickrate for the beta.
In BFHL can someone test out whether or not your C4 sticks to your friend's riot shield? (including if the shield is held out or on their back?)
How would i go about getting the beta on my PS4? I signed up twice (One for PC, one for PS4) and I got two emails, but I'm not sure how to activate it on my PS4.
Did you get your 12-digit code? Choose "Redeem Code" on the sidebar when you're in the Playstation store.

I didn't. I got two emails and neither had a code.

You really need to heavily suspend your disbelief in this game, Police Officers using RPG's with Robbers flying Helicopters with attached miniguns with both sides using military grade weaponry, please don't tell me a bunch of Robbers got access to P90's and G36 Assault Rifles. Lets also not forget every Police Officer and Robber in the country has a military parachute on their back at all times.
But at the end of it all, while its a ok Battlefield game, your just better off playing Battlefield 4 where there is no dumb pretence of the "War on Crime" and its on a actual battlefield with Tanks, Jet's and a real reason to be using RPG's.
It's hilarious how there are people complaining about the police setting because of "realism." In BF games players can perform so many ridiculous feats, yet somehow it becomes unacceptable that the equipment and vehicles isn't as accurate as possible. Just as many inconsistencies can probably be pointed out when comparing BF4's weapons, equipment and vehicles to what they actually use irl.
As much as I like BF4, it doesn't replace HL. It feels fresh playing a BF that's not on a battlefield. There are no dumb features like visual recoil, random weapon sway, excessive suppression, and grenade spam. The equipment list will be shortened, so there's less of BF4's quantity over quality, infantry is king in gamemodes other than TDM, infantry-focused battles are less chaotic with only 32p, plus there are a lot of other cool features.
It's called suspension of disbelief. A Russian soldier using an F2000 is far more believable than criminals using minigun-armored helicopters and RPG's.
Honestly it wouldn't even take that much to make it feel more authentic. Get rid of the attack trucks (they are stupid anyway), the gunships (keep the transports with LMG's) and the RPG (replace it with a 40mm direct shot GL for similar feel) and it will be pretty much like a Hollywood cop movie.
But it already feels like a Hollywood cop movie, except maybe on steroids. I'm willing to sacrifice authenticity for variety and fun.
The Mobile Command Post seems a little OP. I just park it near the objective and switch between the 2 gunning seats.

I just use C4, If it's in a tricky spot, a jihad bike.
Years of fighting in the trenches of Indar have taught me that all it takes to destroy a forward spawn is one brave soldier and a bundle of plastic explosive.
You can also wreck it as a proffessional sniperpro with two antipers mines and a grenade or a bullet to blow them up.
I tried out Hardcore and I really liked everything about it EXCEPT for the fact that it was just Snipers and DMRs everywhere. I guess I could try and find a server with those weapons restricted, but whatever
It certainly feels a lot like a well produced mod of Battlefield 2 but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Those looking for explosive changes to gameplay aren't going to find them, even with the new Titan mode, but DICE has definitely spent some time refining some of the features.
Overall Battlefield 2142, even with the look and feel of a well polished mod, is a pretty worthy addition to the franchise, even with the price tag. There's something missing that's hard to really figure out. Some of the Battlefield magic just isn't quite there. However, although 2142 might not be extraordinary, it still got excitement and fun.
Hmmm, this is starting to sound very familiar...
unless the netcode is updated, the game is near unplayable. half the time the server is a full 2 seconds behind whats actually happening.
Flew the attack helicopter for the first time and holy shit is it great. I just gave my minigunner as many shots as possible and we just roamed around the map ganking money runners and harassing vehicles. It's really squirrely but I love being a flying sentry turret.
Also comes with a motion sensor built in, it's like a giant MAV with guns

Hopefully its updated to new hotness Battlefield 4 netcode instead of old and busted.

That's because the servers run at a glorious 10 tick. You can thank Microsoft and EA for this, Microsoft is forcing bandwidth limits on developers for their consoles so EA pushes this onto DICE because they want to be on MS's platform and thus the cheapest, easiest way to get a tiny bandwidth count is to make the interactions between clients and the server hold as little information as possible and send it at least as possible. Oh and the 10 tickrate is hardcoded into the game, if you try changing it everything will break. Remember the 30fps cap in NFS Rivals and when you remove the cap everything goes apeshit? Same effect.
It's fucking retarded.
I actually like Hardline, but I still would not buy it at full price.

Yeah, same. Really had a good time with the Beta but I'm not gonna buy it. Doesn't feel like Battlefield to me.

I once was using the tazer and after I tazed some I heard my character say "You got tazed, bro".

no not really, BF4 was patched to 30 tickrate literally 2 weeks ago and its solid. im pretty sure this is just 10 because it is being deved on the original version and its a beta.
framerate locks break the game when broken because it fucks with physics, animations, and hit registry with the hit models. all tickrates do is interfere with how the server interacts with the client with hit detection and enemy position simulation.

I will buy it once it goes on a sale. I'm actually glad they made a different Battlefield because now BF4 will be active longer. Hopefully they make a Battlefield 1943 or 2143 next or after BF5 if that is next. I wouldn't mind a new Bad Company either though.

they already said the bad company team is working on something atm.
anyone with a PS4 want a Hardline beta key?
Really hate the spawning and map design in general. It's just so open that enemies can spawn anywhere at anytime, and there's always so many angles you can be attacked from.
This just makes me want to get BF4, I'm sick of dying to what feels like 2 shots in the arm before I can even react, these servers are terrible

Thought we were talking IRL Police here for a minute. I need to go to bed...
Honestly they should have made it so that no vehicles were using heavy weapons. Like, get rid of the big transport chopper, remove the weapons on the little bird and make it transport-only, get rid of the attack trucks, remove the minigun on the armored SUV, replace the RPG with a grenade launcher like it was said before, remove the stinger. I think the only vehicle where it's ok to have MGs in the mobile spawn point and only because they have a limited angle and it sorts of makes more sense.
Of course, it's not gonna happen.
anyone with a PS4 want a Hardline beta key?
I could use one, just to see what it's like.
The shitty server instadeath tickrate and 2 minute heists are driving me insane

Alright now lets actually play some Battlefield
